My stay was nice and comfortable. Overall it was a clean room, comfortable bed, no smells and a nice facility. Free coffee every morning in the lobby. My automatic blinds weren’t working when I got there and they immediately came and fixed them.

My stay was quite enjoyable. The hotel is modern and very clean. The rooms are spacious and very nice. Front desk was so friendly and accommodating. Walking distance to a bunch of places near by. Would definitely stay here again.

The Hilton Garden Inn is a nice hotel in a great location. It's clean and comfortable. The beds are comfy. The shower is good. Price is good. It meets basic needs. Things went wrong during my stay. - the smoke alarm in my room went off a few minutes after I turned on the air conditioning. I called the manager and he said he would check to see if they had another room and then would come up to check the smoke alarm. Never heard from him or saw him. - At least twice, maybe three times, my key didn't work and I had to go back down to the desk to get it re-authorized. - maid service was good but very late one of the days I was there. - hot water for free tea in the lobby (not a coffee drinker) was lukewarm, even early in the morning. I'll give them another chance, but hope that they execute a little better next time.

The hotel uses an extreme amount of scent machines all over the hotel. There’s a strong smell starting in the lobby. There’s also a scent machine on each floor in front of the elevator. The scents are also noticeable in the room. If you are sensitive to scents/smells/air fresheners, avoid this hotel

Probably the best hotel in Evanston, but Evanston lacks a stellar hotel option. Our room was very spacious and I will choose a corner room again if available. It was the best room we have stayed in across multiple stays at this hotel. The lobby area was using a very strong apple scented air freshener this trip, which was different to most other visits. That was not pleasant, and I wouldn't eat at the hotel restaurant because of the overpowering lobby smell. The hotel in general could use a refresh. The beds are rock hard. Everything is clean within the hotel but I always thing someone should be sweeping the sidewalk in front of the property and it is never swept. The hotel garage is one of the best features of this property, but you do have to walk past a marijuana dispensary to get to the garage and the smell is quite strong All that said, it is one of the closest hotels to south campus at Northwestern and is still head and shoulders nicer than the Hilton Orrington, which is a total mess.

We were there to attend my daughter's graduation. The location was great, only steps from my daughter's apartment. There was free coffee provided in the lobby every morning. That was a plus. The room was clean and the staff were very friendly. There was a farmer's market on Saturday right in the parking lot that offered a good bakery and fruits. It cost much more for our 4 nights stay as it was a hot season. I did hope they provided free water bottles instead of charging $8 for two bottles of water.

The employees at the front desk went above and beyond for us. They scheduled a shuttle ride for us to Northwestern, gave us a late checkout and even found us plastic utensils. The most helpful thing they did was give me transportation options from O’Hare. I called the day before we arrived and asked about the bus service. Their advice was perfect. From Terminal 5 we went downstairs and took the airport tram to the rental car/ public transportation place. Once there we went downstairs and stood at bay #9. The Pulse Dempster bus took us to the Davis station in Evanston which dropped us off about 2 blocks from the hotel for $2.50 per person. Everything we needed restaurants and shopping were within walking distance to the hotel.

The hotel was a good place for the price paid. The staff was friendly, the hotel was clean, and the restaurant made to order breakfast quickly. I worked out every day in the fitness center which had newer equipment.

The lighting in the room is horrible. Way too dark. We went for breakfast at 6:30am in the morning before our flight home and they only had decaf coffee. There was dirt on our carpeting when we arrived and it was still there 3 days later. Your cleaning staff was pleasant and gave us plenty of towels and soap but the floor definitely needed to be cleaned. We thought that halls were dingy looking. Definitely needs a facelift. Felt the price was too high considering the age of the hotel.

The blinds in our room were not functional. It took 3 attempts to get them fixed, but service came quickly and were very friendly. The computer on them just needs to be reset several times. Service responded very quickly to replace our empty shower gel.

The staff ranged from over the top sweet to couldn;t care less. The plates were not clean in the restaurant. The towels looked like they were placed on the racks like a ten year old. I met some people who said their room had not been cleaned. I mentioned you probably have to request it--they said they had two days ago. I notice the cleaning crew were probably disabled, but they need a supervisor to keep training them. The 'view' from my room was a dirty, empty swimming pool. I dont usually care abut views but it added to my dismay. I stayed 3 nights. The desk staff were helpful. the waiters were also. The 'place' needs some work.
