Have stayed many times. This time was in room 11. Avoid.
The bed is small and the walls paper thin. I could here everything going on in the room next door.
5.0
The room was a decent size and the breakfast was really good. The staff were helpful. The drinks were somewhat expensive.
4.0
Excellent hotel all of the staff are friendly and they all go out of the way to help especially the receptionist
4.0
Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The room was very warm (opened the windows) and a little noisy (presumably due to ventilation or pipework). The bar area is lovely, staff friendly, approachable and very helpful and breakfast was brilliant - everything was really fresh and tasty
4.0
Excellent, the menu has been improved. And the service is excellent as are the facilities.
5.0
The place is gorgeous from the outside and even better when you walk into the bar area.
Food was quick and lovely (I ate from the bar menu) and everything was great value.
You genuinely feel like they are under charging for how nice it is.
4.0
Room was a little dated but the wider hotel was great

Our stay was very nice
We had a nice room good maid service
The bar prices were extortionate so we only had one drink in there
5.0
The room was very comfortable and the hotel is in a beautiful setting. The staff are friendly and the place is dog friendly. The breakfast was amazing.

Excellent stay in a lovely old building in a quiet spot next to some lovely country walks. Lovely to have free access to the Club for swimming (NB over 18s only - but we had pre warned our teenager to avoid too much disappointment). Very welcoming for our dog - just had to keep to the main bar and lounge area for eating but they are lovely spaces. All staff we dealt with were super friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything, so a big commendation to everyone, especially Socrates who made us feel especially welcome. Standard rooms were simple and functional but very clean and good value for money. Excellent breakfast buffet.

A university reunion with 9 friends staying as well.

Unfortunately a check in mix up left us in a small room, when we’d booked and paid for a suite. The evening receptionist mixed up our booking with another with the same surname. After several trips down to reception to highlight the mismatch in the room given and the room booked, and no response other than ‘oh that’s definitely a suite’ we were given no choice but to wait until the morning to speak to the manager, who realised the error made and offered us a full refund.
The wrong room had damp and mould on the wall, heavy condensation inside the double glazing, and a ‘lovely’ view of the bins and the accompanying noise of glass bottles being thrown in the recycling bin at the end of the evening.
I’m sure the other party had a lovely evening in their ‘free upgrade’ suite!

Good hotel in a good location. Nice. Quite.

Some finishing in bathroom could be better. Also, tea tray on unit, however plug on kettle did not reach sockets behind, therefore had to place on floor, using another socket to boil the kettle. This does not seem ideal from a safety point.

free parking nice clean spacious room nice dinner and breakfast.

Fabulous grounds, fab outside
Poor inside, soso room
Breakfast nice
Service @ bar very poor
Parking is a disaster !!!

Very dated and bad overpriced

No parking near hotel car parks , had to park over 100 yards away, not sure if this is a car park for Southampton cruisers. Unfortunately no lift to a high second floor and no help with cases. Looks like gardens have not been looked after for some time. Breakfast Buffett was a plus though.

Only stayed one night but fiund it excellent in all areas

Gorgeous grounds and adjacent preserve! We loved every minute!

As expected from the pictures and reviews. Clean room which was a bit dated but otherwise absolutely fine. Good pool. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Would stay again.
4.0
Good hotel with good facilities. Thunderously expensive bar though. There cannot really be a justification to charge such extortionate prices. Hotel prices are usually high, the prices in this bar are higher still!
3.0
4 star price but 2 star experience.
Very basic tea & coffee items in room, adequate facilities but no more than that.
Quality of fixed price dinner at £32 a head was very mixed and took far too long to serve although the staff apologised nicely.
Swimming pool was nice but the jacuzzi was filthy.

All the staff were miserable. The invisible bar staff didn’t have a clue how to make a coffee with milk & that’s if they had any milk available, then then would disappear into the kitchen for 15 minutes to get it!!!!
The head waitress never even told us they did scrambled or poached eggs, I only found out 2 days in. The mattress was so uncomfortable I hurt my back & the cleaner thought that doing the toilet area first & not washing her hands in between & then straight to the towels & cups was unbelievable.
The pool was freezing so make sure you take your wetsuit.
I couldn’t wait to leave & I got a full refund for the extra advance nights I had booked.

Nice hotel with a comfortable room. We booked this hotel for the use of the pool for the children. We were SO disappointed that children are only allowed to swim on a Saturday and Sunday from 3-5:30pm. We arrived on Sunday for 2 nights at 5pm and were told we could only swim for 20 minutes and would not be allowed to swim with the children Monday or Tuesday. The hotel should not be advertised as a hotel with a pool with so many restrictions. This ruined our family stay so would not go back to the hotel.

Double bed instead the usual twins pushed together and bath instead of a shower. These were a great for our stay .
4.0
Rooms very outdated and the cleanliness of the bathroom was especially bad. Broken facilities such as the toilets in the restaurant area, clogged up and dirty. Our bathtub had chips in it, and the shower curtain was yellow clearly due to rust/dirt from the pole. Overall quite an unpleasant experience in terms of our room. Although, the food and breakfast was spot on, lovely service and delicious food.

Decent hotel. Room was fine, service was good grounds are nice.

The room and services were overall very good and the spa was nice albeit a bit small. I did however I find the bar incredibly expensive, the parking was not the best and unfortunately I had not been told that there would be events on during both nights of my stay. This was an issue because my room was directly opposite the function room which was blasting music for most of the evening. The music was stopped at 11 however a little heads up would have been greatly appreciated as it would have been impossible to try and get an early night. I know that this wasn't solely my issue as another guest was making a complaint at checkout on Sunday morning.

My lady is a bit handicapped at present; as there was no handicapped rooms available they did their best - which I appreciate very much - but we couldn’t stay there. They were most accommodating & helpful.

The Chilworth Manor Hotel is in lovely country setting. The check-in was good and the room was comfortable except there was a party going on and the music thumping was horrendous and well on until after 11pm. As we had an early start next morning we needed an early night which proved to be impossible.
8.0
The hotel facilities were very good as was the swimming pool & gym areas. The one problem we had (first world problem) was that there was no hot breakfast due to no gas or no chef depending on who you talked to.I just wish they had been honest about what the problem was,we all know that stuff happens out of your control.Just be honest.

Very nice place and people really friendly

Nice comfortable and clean room. Very good breakfast. Staff very polite. Dinner menu has changed and is not very suitable. It's a sort of tapas style but it just doesn't work for an English country hotel. The food was cooked well but the choice on the menu is disappointing and the plates arrive at different times, as they are cooked. On the second night of my stay I chose to eat at a local pub.
5.0
An excellent place to stay after a long international flight. From Rob at the front desk to Evan at the bar - and all other staff, including those in housekeeping and serving in the restaurant - they all make customer care a priority. The setting was tranquil and the price was reasonable. I enjoyed dining in the small on-site restaurant with only about a dozen tables. The food was tasty and the service was stellar. Definitely a place to return to again and again!

While the outside grounds and common areas are beautiful and make a lovely picture, inside the room is a different story. Our room was so small that there was nowhere to put down and open our two bags without blocking the door. Screw together furniture and the clearance between the bed and desk so small I could not pull out the only chair and sit

The garden and surrounding area is beautiful. The hotel is welcoming and cozy. Feel very at home here. Breakfast was good.
