Only reason we picked this hotel is because we were traveling with our dog! Otherwise I would not have picked this hotel! First time the room had a strong smell that gave me a headache but it was cleaner. On our way home we stayed again and had a different room and it didn’t have a smell but the bedding was dirty and stained. The beds are as hard as a rock in both rooms!

Super friendly staff. Our room was great. We were traveling with 2 pets and that wasn't a problem. Ask for a Do Not Disturb hanger at the front desk if you need one. I've seen reviews were people say there sheets were wet. With the high humidity in Galveston everything is going to feel wet at first thats just the way it is unless you stay some where High end with dehumidifiers

We had the most pleasant experience in Galveston. The man at the reception desk were excellent, I think his name was Omid. Easy to park. Felt safe and very clean. Great ocean view from the room! Will absolutely come back!

We love this place for the fact that it is in-expensive and dog friendly. Rooms are clean and the staff are always kind. It is walking distance to the seawall and we stay here about 4-6 times a year.

This Red Roof is just a few steps from the beach. It's newly renovated, so the rooms are in good condition. Ours was clean and spacious and had all the amenities - microwave, fridge, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, coffee. Also, being a short block away from the main drag, it's quieter than if it was directly on Seawall Boulevard.

Upon arrival, the elevator smelt of bed bug spray. When I got into my room, it smelt heavily of bed bug spray even though I checked I didn't find anything but after I got home, I have found bed bugs and my luggage they got out and I had to hire an exterminator.

The room smelled of mildew, and the A/C unit's drain was stopped up and kept flooding the room with water. Told the front desk about it and after telling them twice they finally sent a maintenance worker to look at it but he didn't fix the issue. We had to keep soaking up the water with the towels and ringing them out.

The room itself was clean and comfortable, although a few cosmetic touches needed to be made that were reported to the front desk. The location was very nice, within walking distance to the beach and plenty of shops and restaurants. It being pet friendly was a huge bonus. I wasn't able to stay at my usual location for this trip, but having this as a back up will be great.

The mini fridge was great! 1. **Cleanliness:** The room was clean upon arrival, but I spotted a cockroach on the landline phone during my stay. 2. **Room Quality:** The room was basic but functional, with a mini fridge adding value. 3. **Maintenance:** The room was well-maintained and clean, but there were some issues. The shower drained slowly, and the elevator, though functional, was very slow and had a bad odor. 4. **Management:** Management's care was disappointing. I couldn’t switch to a room with two beds, even though they were available at a lower price. Requests for extra blankets were limited to one, which I had to pick up myself. When my family visited, I was told my room would be monitored to ensure no extra guests stayed overnight, which felt invasive. 5. **Keycard Issue:** On the second day, my keycard stopped working without any fault on my part. I had to go to the lobby to get it fixed, which was inconvenient and made me feel uneasy. 6. **Location:** The motel is a short walk from the beach, but for a better beach experience, I recommend Stuart Beach and staying closer to that area. 7. **Beachfront View:** The ocean view was limited, with a small window not near the bed, making it difficult to enjoy. 8. **Parking:** There was plenty of parking available during my stay. 9. **Safety:** I felt safe throughout my stay. 10. **Would I Return?** No, I would probably not return to this motel. There are many other hotels that may be worth a try

We really enjoyed the pool for my daughter it was the beat part of our stay. Also it has a very convenient location right by the breathtaking ocean of galveston our night was peaceful at the hotel no weird noises or people. One thing we disliked was someone with a dog left their business infront of our way to enter our room. It sucks people take advantage of the privilege given to be able to take their pets with them.I have no problems with pets its just bad owners don’t have responsibility for them.

I had mad a reservation for Tues accidentally, I arrived Sunday at 2:00 am thinking I was all set and the guy behind the window basically shooed me away like I was being a inconvenience for him. I was waiting on an Uber to take me to a different hotel. He was a total douche and I'll never stay here again. I was here for a few days a month ago and they'll never see a dime from me again. Racist man he was.

At first I was a little iffy from reading comments from previous visits. There were good and bad, but once I got here I realized there was nothing wrong with the place. It does have a smell, but it seems like there was fresh paint mixed with air from the nearby beach and water, so as long as you can get past that it’s really no problem. The rooms have definitely been renovated and they look and smell lovely. Everything was as it should be, there were no shady characters and other than the storm that came through there were no disruptions or loud noises from anyone else
