Nice view with a balcony. Location may require some walking if you are not driving or going around with a taxi, but thats the trade off with the view in the edge of the Kobe Port. Great breakfast choice. Friendly staff.

Great views on Kobe port tower and the mountains. Beautiful hotel but do not expect to check-in earlier than 3pm. They are very strict and will not let you go to your room before the official check-in time even though there were some rooms ready. Also you need to store the luggage yourself without any help from the staff in their baggage room. Location and surroundings of the hotel are beautiful and breakfast buffet is extensive

Upgrade option and club access are both good. Harbour views with nearby restaurants.

I had a good time. The reception staff helpful though quite strict. I thought the buffet staff was guarding like I was in prison. The rooms are nice and comfy though tv’s would do better with an upgrade. Otherwise it was quite well located and easy to get a cab from. I feel like the staff should help you load and unload luggage especially when they see you are a family and are struggling. It’s a shame but I wouldn’t go back there though the location and views are amazing. Also, buffet is amazing if you are vegetarian or don’t care about kosher or halal meat. Otherwise you are left with very few options. I thought this could improve and they may see a wider variety of customers, from the middle if they they halal wagyuu/ Kobe beef. The ball is your camp 😜

Where do I start ??? The staff saw my wife and our daughter arrive and no staff welcomed us and our luggage. So my pregnant wife went in and picked up a trolley for us and I put it all on it. The check was fine. My real issue is the restaurant. First of all when I walked in i felt like some of the male staff were more like Prison guards or shop security (only with me) staring at me where ever I was going. I tried to have my dinner in the terrace before i was stopped by one who told me no no no it’s only for people who are ordering from a bar menu or whatever when the terrace was literally empty! He couldn’t speak English and just kept telling come, come so I did take my stuff and went back in. I explained to his manager there should be a sign on the door or something to which he agreed. The floor manager is really good. The rules needs more flexibility. We are not Japanese and do not want to be treated like robots. Your hotel and this whole country needs to loosen up and be more flexible to accommodate people who come to relax and not feel under pressure. In regard to the food I noticed that a lot of the food, although really good, have meat in it even when it does not say it and you don’t expect it(potato croquettes). So that made it difficult for me to enjoy lots of things. I understand the culture eat lots of pork etc but you should be accommodating to kosher and Muslims and offer lots of halal options. Trust me it will be noticed and the wealthy Arab will come to Japan.Tx

Very unique property, nice facilities but far from downtown. The only breakfast option is the hotel and that buffet will cost you $25-30 / person. The only other option is the Starbucks that is a 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Nothing else available.

The hotel got the best location surrounded by popular scenes. Apart from that the hotel itself is in old stylist and poor condition insides.
All sofa are dirty with stains and make people feel disgusting. Maybe it’s time to have renovation immediately.

The view of the harbour was beautiful and a bonus to have a balcony to enjoy it

A little bit far away from the railway station

Great view from the hotel, staff are friendly and helpful. Location is good given it’s right by the port. Lobby is gorgeous, however condition and maintenance of the hotel room need some improvements for an Oriental Hotel standards. Carpet is showing sign of age and have stains in many places, bathroom has a slight unpleasant odour, bath tub and sink are clearly not cleaned between guests. If these can improve, I will not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others.

The sofa is very old and dirty and there is a white stain on it. very disgusting, make me think that someone just made love on the sofa.

Everything about this property except for the lounge service. The food in the lounge is terrible. Also the lobby restaurant serves average food.

I stayed at the Orient Hotel for 6 nights. Good location, nice staff, good breakfast and clean. It’s on the harbor so have a beautiful view, there is a plaza by the ferris wheel that is a fun little spot and has lots of good food/shopping. There is a ‘Art and Aquarium’ near by and is worth going to. Enjoyed my stay there.

Basic, comfortable and decent sized rooms but lacking somewhat in trends (no direct USB ports although they did provide an adapter).

Great hotel great location, peaceful, the restaurants are awesome and good pricing, it was a bargain for what we got, this was the most spacious hotel we stayed during our trip to Japan, and the view is magnificent

Everything is good.

A little bit dated but still good. If you are planning on walking around kobe, probably better to book more in town.

The service and view of this property is terrific. The staff helped me out to reserve a local taxi, bigger one which could hold 3 suit cases, 1 baby stroller, 2 adult, 1 children.

Great hotel in a beutiful area.
The rooms seems a little outdated, but beds are confortable and shower is are great.
Stayed here with two kids and they loved the place, the big beds and the TV with youtube.
Parking is easy in the hotel property.

The walk from the subway is a little bit of a hike but not too bad. The view from the room is beautiful at night with all the lights. We stayed in Room 1336, a spacious corner room with a wrap around balcony which offered views of the Port Tower, Mosaic, and Ferris Wheel. The room is updated with plenty of outlets to charge devices. I have always dreamed of staying at this hotel and I was not disappointed. When we walked into the room, my husband's first reaction was that it was "swanky". We did not eat at any of the restaurants. There is an area for welcome drinks which included sparkling wine, coffee, fruit infused water and chocolates. Taxi to the Shin-Kobe was about ¥1800 which was worth not having to drag my suitcase uphill.

Overall had a nice stay here. The hotel property is big and gives a very 80s/90s yuppie feel and room is decent with Netflix enabled TV and a big balcony area. Plus point with the view if you have a room facing the sea. Only few drawback are the location being a little on the outskirts from the central area but luckily there were slews of taxi ready to be hailed outside of the property’s carpark.

Very good Seaview

A very large, busy hotel. Our room was good, with a balcony and view to the mountains. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel's bar was a bit expensive and had a cover charge, but the view was great. Areas to explore on foot, such as Kitano, and day trip by train, ropeway, cable car and more trains to Arima Onsen.

This hotel was BEAUTIFUL! The staff was so nice we came as a group of 5 Americans with very little knowledge of Japanese language. Everyone was so hospitable and helped with everything including finding a place to eat and ordering us a taxi to get there.

We stayed 2 nights on the weekend. No cleaning and had to complaint and requested to have some clean towels. There are no convenient store around the Hotel and it was so hard to find milk for my toddler. Price and condition of the hotel is not matching.
