the only thing we disliked about the whole stay was the parking. we had to carry our luggage from one side of the building to the other to get to the elevator.

The hotel is nice and has a basically a full kitchen with a full size fridge however there are no dishes or utensils whatsoever. So basically it’s quite silly. They’ll sell you a pan or spatula in the lobby. I suggested they allow guests to rent them out or something. I’ve never stayed at a place that offers a full kitchen but has no way to use it. The beds are so so. The pillows are comfy and the rooms are clean. The staff is very friendly. I just can’t get over the oddity of that kitchen situation. Parking is a breeze and there are tons of eateries right around the hotel.

Much improved since Best Western took over. Property and casino have received nice upgrades. Mattresses need to be replaced, but rooms and amenities are good. Mel’s Diner is always good.

Our initial encounter was with one of the most abrasive hotel receptionists ever. She was so unpleasant that it makes you wonder why she has a customer service job. The entire hotel reeks of cigarette smoke including the bedrooms which made it difficult to sleep. Their elevator smelled of puke. They could have sanitized it but didn’t. The beds and pillows were actually comfortable. But the bathrooms were not cleaned well. Even if a hotel is older, good customer service and cleanliness will make guests appreciate their stay. In this case, those key things were definitely a miss.

We were In town for the Truckee Pro Rodeo as we would be vendors and would be really tired after each day and just needed a CLEAN COMFORTABLE room when getting in late each nite. The room was DEFINITELY not clean.we were booked into the South Tower, the room Smelled like feet , I could swear there were still 4 grown me still staying in the room. When I asked the woman at the front desk about a better room she stated I should have asked for the North tower?? How am I supposed to know that the SOUTH tower is dirty?? The only plus was the people at the tables were SUPER COOL -Sunny, Cheng as well as the other dealers and Tim the Pitt Boss. If it weren’t for them we would Not Be back there.

After calling and verifying that me cat would be welcomed, they refused to let me stay with him because he is furrier than normal. 10 hour drive from So California and bam .. too bad. No refund offered.

The pool was burning hot. The rooms and hallways smell like cigarette even though there are sign of do not smoke. The room was clean , bed was ok but overall not the type of hotel where you can relax. Its only for people who gamble and smoke

Reception is one side of the building hotel is on the other side of the building which is about a block away had three bags to carry it said take the elevator couldn't find it finally somebody showed me where it was it doesn't even say elevator on it very disappointed took a half hour to find the elevator

It's a party hotel. So you have to deal with a lot of noisy people all night. Lots of yelling that you can hear in the other rooms. There is also a non refundable $19 fee that they add when you check in, which Expedia doesn't mention. Staff was really rude when I asked about it. They went really cheap on everything in the room so don't expect to get your moneys worth out of this place.

We stayed at Boomtown for one night before heading over to the Northstar Resort near Lake Tahoe. We were in the older South Tower, and it was fine, but was old, dark and in need of updating. It was just one night, so it was fine. We enjoyed the casino and the Boomtown Steakhouse was a surprisingly excellent dinner. I would come back there just for another dinner. Overall, it was a nice respite on the way to Lake Tahoe, just wish it had been a lighter, brighter room.

My girlfriend and I have stayed here twice. It's a cute little casino/hotel and the atmosphere feels safe and welcoming. Unlike downtown Reno, there aren't "sketchy" people all over the place. It is very secure and family friendly. The rooms are always clean and hotel staff is friendly. This trip we even had some car trouble. The battery died. Security helped is solve the problem with a portable car battery charger and made what could have been a huge problem seem like just a minor inconvenience. There are a few different restaurant choices. We've eaten at Mels and Baja Deli and had coffee at Peet's. All were good and reasonably priced. There's also a cute bar with live music and very reasonable drink prices.

My stay was OK until I hit the casino and ran into the Asian lady who was some sort of manager for the casino. Me, and multiple other people were smoking cigars, and she came up to us and told us that we had to put them out because they weren’t allowed in the casino, and there were signs posted everywhere including the entry doors. I told her this is a $60 cigar and I’ll take it outside. I asked her to show me the Signs in which she could not show me a single one, but instead ran to security. It pissed me off pretty bad, so I just went back to my room and didn’t gamble. I guess they did me a favor, I usually lose thousands anyways. I will never go back to Boomtown again

Handicap parking location is extremely far from property entrance. Very poor handicap parking stalls. Once inside, extreme distances to check-in counter. I asked at check-in that i would like a handicap room. I had forgotten to do this online. She did not hear but did not acknowledge. I did not recv. a handicap room. I also asked if my BW reward number had been applied. The answer was an abrupt , "it's here" She did not inform me that it did not apply as per the online venue I used. I also explained that I would be extending my stay from a few days to longer .. . (as a local our house was under a remondel contruction and I was not entirely sure on how long the stay.) Every morning I would leave the hotel to return in the evening to find myself locked out. I had to return to the front desk to reregister for a new key. This happened several times as I was informed that I was automatically shown as departure. When returning to the room, no towel service had been done. Calling for towels there was no service after (?) Someone would bring them to the room. The second time this happened I was purt on the hotels auto answering hold. After twenty minutes on hold i set the headset down, went to the registration desk to see the single lady by herself reading the newspaper and obviously not concerned about the phone service. The towels came 25 minutes later from a gentleman that had no clue what to deliver. The third time this happened, I refused and waited for the front desk to come.

Room was good and clean. Overall stay was not bad. They do have a surcharge for pets an extra $30 per night just FYI. Only real complaint was that during our stay they never came to clean the room. The cleaning did knock on our door as we were leaving and they said they would come back but never did.

Our room was great space wise. We paid extra for a mountain view but the windows were filthy. Couldnt really enjoy any view at all. Disappointing. Bathroom didnt have any mirrors for those of us without perfect vision. No way to put on make up or fix hair.
