Food was ok. The drinks were typical all inclusive, nothing really good except a gin and tonic at Dozo restaurant. The website indicated the beach was “swimmable”. The beach is never swimmable per the lifeguard on site. Room was fine although lots of construction, which we knew, so not an issue. The staff was courteous.

Bugs, broken latch for the sliding door, tv didn’t work… I know there was construction going one, but until 9pm on is ridiculous

Despite the construction, the staff made every effort to make sure we were having a good time. The kids pool area and water slides were closed which is one of the main reasons we booked the vacation. However, the kids club staff were really great and made sure our boys had a great time. Especially Kit Kat. She was really enthusiastic and energetic with our boys. We plan on giving the hotel another shot once the construction is done.

The staff were super friendly. We ate breakfast and dinner at the “El Monilo” restaurant and the waiter Brian was amazing. Not only is he a waiter but is a bartender. The resort was under construction but still worth going, everyone was very attentive and the show at night was perfect.

Hyatt Ziva is old property and needs renovations.. internet is to slow and dining is limited. Buffet is avg at best if you compare it to cruises such as Norwegian or royal Caribbean than it really lacks.

2 maids caught stealing in my mother in laws room. She didn’t want to inform the front desk because she felt bad for the maids possibly loosing their jobs. She saw them exiting her room and remembered she has left her purse sitting out, so she went to go count her money and was missing $60. She ran out after the maids to confront them, they denied having stole it. My mother in-law starts checking the cart and pulls out a towel to shake it and out comes flying the $60. Very disappointing. If it was me I would have reported them. The other staff was very nice but this puts a stain on this review for me. There was also a lot of noise at the pool area because or construction. Not very relaxing.

I stay four nights 5 days in the swim up suite. I advise anyone that is looking to book get the swim up suite. You have to be 18 and over is only for adults. Not for families but you get really good service. You have access to the VIP club lounge which offers top chef liquor a concierge service up there. You get food something a little different from the other restaurants. It's not a restaurant per se but it's a nice spot to go but you only can get in the club lounge if you have a swim up suite. The pool staff attendants were wonderful. The food was good. I have no complaints about the restaurants. Only thing I can say is that they had a lot of construction going on but that did not mess up my good time. Also, the 24-hour room service was excellent. We used that twice while we was there.

Checked out in less than 24 hours due to meldew, damp like linens, floors were wet. Lack of proper ventilation exacerbates mildew problems. Clearly there is an issue that is creating damp areas conducive to mildew growth which caused me to have nasal congestion and eye swelling. I couldn’t not sleep and had to check out and transferred to the Hilton La Pacifica which was amazing, despite me not feeling well after my experience at the Hyatt Ziva. Still waiting on my refund.

I would not recommend this place. they’re just starting renovation buildings now so it probably takes more than 2 years super noisy during the stay and some restaurants are closed.

This resort is amazing. Our favorite part was how nice and helpful every single staff member was to us. Service seemed to be a focal point. Our only issues were certain areas were closed for renovations including a restaurant, the main lobby, and an entire building of rooms among a few other smaller aspects of the property. Renovations meant a lot of construction noise during the day.

To start, the property is under construction so we did hear a lot of the drilling going on. however they do send you notification that the building is Under Construction and this includes the kids Water park area. other than this I would say the staff from getting there throughout are Stay were very very nice. their entertainment Team is Amazing! their Nightly shows are Really good. my kids who are ages 6 and 10 had a great time doing their trivia and games. Aqua aerobics was fun. Aqua strength was fun and a great workout. You can tell their activities staff (German, victor, paola,etc) love their job. The dancers are very good and a joy to watch. The kids club staff were very friendly and i felt safe with my son staying there. He asked to go. The pool was fun. The infinity pool had music going often so i could zone out the drilling. I didn't hear any drilling in our room. The food was average. We mainly did the buffet or outside by the pool food. There's something you'll like but it's not top notch. The hibachi restaurant was fun for the kids and the food was good. I wished i worked in more restaurants. This is our second time here. I loved our time there.

The hotel is nice. The floors on property didn’t seem clean. There was always food or some unclean feeling on the walkway. They enventually cleaned it but the jalapeño were there for a few days Rooms were nice.

We thought the staff and room and food were excellent. But we were very very disappointed with our stay because from 9am to 5pm every day you could not hear anything over the constant extremely loud jackhammers and grinders. We tried to enjoy our mornings with a nice cup of coffee and we could not even hear what we were saying to each other. We saved for a long time to bring our family there and left feeling utterly frustrated and disappointed..😞

Disappointed! I had great memories from 2021, unfortunately the construction currently going on, even tho it’s say on the web that will strive to not affect the visit, is terrible. Construction all day is very noisy on the main pool. The lobby, which was awesome is totally covered for renovations. The waiters on the pools are “not allowed” to get food for you ( a tip will fix this) the food was great, the accommodations fantastic. However it did not live up to the memories

Property was really nice, although we went when one of the building was getting renovated so lots of banging all day from 8am-4pm. I also wasn’t impressed by the food , only two of the four restaurants were decent. I’m definitely not a picky eater and have stayed at my share of resorts and this one by far has been the best. Lastly the drinks , I’m well aware of resort drinks but a simple margarita tasted like medicine. Overall it was decent and will not be staying again in the future.

Not a fan of the all day loud construction project on other side of this hotel pool! That due to the size will probably be finished months later. No swimming on the beach either due to strong currents. Up side is room, staff, evening events and restaurants are all excellent!

Very close to Downtown San Jose and close to all kinds of services and restaurants besides the hotel. The restaurants and beverage service were fantastic and the people were amazing. A bit noisy with the construction but is for the good. It will look VERY good once the remodeling is finished
