This was one of the Best Comfort Suites & inns I've Ever Stayed in. Very Clean, The Staff were So Professional, courteous, polite and Helpful. The Holiday Decoration in the lobby was Beautiful. This is where I will be staying always when I'm in Newport News, VA.

Check in was the most pleasant ever experienced! Rooms were spacious and clean. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was good variety and well-tended. Property seems very well managed. No concerns for safety, which is more than i can say for other hotels in this area!

I wanted to give this a 5 star, but due to our check in, I can’t. We were here celebrating my son graduating BCT and heading to AIT. He was in uniform as we arrived. Immediately, as we were checking in, the front desk man, John, started taking about how the kid working with him was the hardest working immigrant he knew. We congratulated him because he truly seemed like a nice young man. John then proceeded to complain about the election and I casually said , “well as an army soldier mom, I was ok with the outcome” He looked up and said, “I wish they would ship out all these $&@* Republicans and let the illegal immigrants take their place. What a disrespectful thing to say, to even be talking about politics as we checked in. I was extremely offended and will be reaching out to Choice hotels corporate to discuss this. The rest of the entire hotel staff was so amazing Very nice accommodations but could not tell if there was blood in our carpet.

The room was modern, the beds were comfortable (though small). The climate in the room however was very uncomfortable. It was very moist (with the AC on or off) and the floor felt wet; we didn't like to walk barefoot. Also the water pressure in the sink was horrible. Ended up having to use the tub spout to wash our hands. Coffee was not good and the front desk would not answer the phone, though they were very pleasant at check-in.

I killed three roaches in my room. There were probably another nine that I saw that were smaller that I couldn't get to in time. I had the constant smell of someone getting very happy every morning and night. Not the hotels fault, but not pleased either way.

In my opinion this hotel was overpriced and wasn’t worth the $440 I was charged for 2 nights. I don’t recommend. My issue were the beds like sleeping on rocks and it was a bit of a safety concern based on my observation.

The stay was average. Hotel was located in a good location. The toilet seat moved every time we sat on it. The screen to the window was torn. The tree hid our view. We had brought some Krispy Kreme doughnuts and left them on the dresser and when we got back ants were on the dresser and in our doughnuts. It was a Birthday treat for myself. I was so upset. I suggest monthly spraying. We only ate breakfast only once. Eggs were good.

It was good enough for a quick stay. Staff was nice and helpful. I think I saw they had some recent renovations those were not the best. White bedding is what I prefer at a hotel was not happy that the white bedding had stains. Just throw that away and start over! Toilet ran all night and that was kind of annoying. But it worked and was close to the location I was in.

This hotel has done a great turnaround since the last time I stayed here. The upgrades are nice, the bed was cozy, check in was friendly, and the overall appearance of the hotel to include my room was clean and inviting. My only complaint is to have all guest to abide by the no smoking of anything policy.

The rating reflects the severe mustiness in our room #109. Probably due to the A/C laboring mightily to cool the room. Gave all of us sinus issues. We were only staying 2 nights so did not make a fuss. The room was clean and the maid service was spot on. The only other thing we found curious was that the shower did not have any body wash. There were recepticles in the shower for shampoo and conditioner. When I inquired about the body wash the woman at reception went out of her way to look for body wash but could only come up with little hand soaps. Also the showerhead was installed incorrectly and leaked where a stream of water shot up to the wall. I would have made them aware when we checked out but the person at reception was busy. The breakfast was the usual you have at an inn at this price level, but clean and plentiful. So, I took one star off for the mustiness on the cleanliness category.

The woman at the reception desk very friendly and professional. The room was quiet and comfortable. The shower was hot and had great water pressure. There are a number of dining options in the nearby area.
