Well laid out hotel. No rush or queuing. Ample spaces out sun beds. Lovely breakfast. Ample parking in hotel car park. Waiter service at sun beds is a real bonus. Hotel and rooms are functioning well but could do with a facelift.

Food all very high standard, we were all inclusive and the choice was different each day. Hotel and grounds are lovely. View is great but the beach is rocky so not really able to access the sea.

Room had no AC w/ it being 25 celsius, told them ac was not working, & said its not turned on yet. My last night at 10:45pm maintenance shows up to "fix the ac" Good to know they wanted to fix it 12 hours before i left & they wanted to make my stay comfortable right after I paid my bill...Room is outdated from before I was born. No outlets by bed, only USB ports, if u have USBC charger, u won't have your phone next to u. who knows the last time the curtains, decorative pillows, throw blanket had been clean (they are at least 15 years old). So much dust I got sick my first day. Hair dryer cord is maybe 8 inches long max difficult to use. Beach all rock & not easy to deal with, if ur looking for an easy beach to access, walk down the harbor about 20 min. Everything outdated. had to turn in your key (was a physical key not a keycard) everytime u left the property became a hassle. Door handles are old, in my opinion probably easy to pick.Only reason I liked the hotel was because of the location. No issue w/ taxi booked by the hotel, Friday Night went out for a dinner, bolt driver back harrassed me & made inappropriate comments, and did not let me out until I screamed for help. I asked front desk how I can report to authorities, a non emergency # Guy at desk said he will get back to me the next day, no follow up. was a scary experience & would hv appreciated support Overall the stay was not great, definitely wouldn't stay again

I've been many times in this hotel and have seen ups and downs this hotel was going through. It seems now they've managed to restore their service and immage to it's best and - the water temperature of the inside heated pool has finally got warm :)

Approaching the hotel it looked well cared for and once inside it did not disappoint. We received a smiling, warm welcome, and given a very pleasant drink.
We paid for a side sea view room but were upgraded to a full sea view. The room was perfect, had everything in it you could think of, even bathroom scales and a shoe horn. A bottle of wine and plate of fruit was totally unexpected.
The choice of food at breakfast was second to none, as were the evening meals.
The entertainers were lovely and there were plenty of choices of activities.
Every member of staff wanted to pleas. There were plenty of smiles and lots of generosity on offer.
Certainly an experience we shall remember for all the right reasons.

From the time we arrived at the Hotel, staff were so friendly. Plus we got an upgrade to a one bed suite which had amazing views.The hotel was spotless and a credit to all involed. The room was immaculate and cleaned every day by very plesant staff , who are a credit to the hotel.The food have to say was excellent and staff. The bars were also excellent and staff . We had a Cabana overlooking the sea which was fantastic and a phone if you wanted bar service. Overall it was our first time in Cyprus and picking the The Athena Royal Beach just made it special. Its about 30 min walk into paphos harbour where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. Just down from the hotel you can get a bus ito the harbour for 1.50 euro. We had dinner in the hotel every night as the food was excellent. Just want to mention the staff again who were 10/10. Thank you for making our two week holiday special. We will be back as to be honest it was the most relaxing holiday.

Woul be all ok, but few points to mention:
Wifi connection in rooms is terrible, several times a day you need to re-enter password and etc
Inside heated pool is more like a lottery - water temperature varies from below 28'C - to 31'C and up. That is a big difference and this has not improved since we were on the same hotel last February
Rooms are "cleaned" daily, however, if you look in corners, under the bed and even inside the closed - it seems those places are never cleaned.
Pay extreme attention to what room type you book: side-sea-view room is sold as sea view and even superior sea view is actually - side sea view, while street/mountains view room can be no view room at all - our 394 room was exactly the case. Rude and arrogant reception manager (a man I don't remember his name)

Room was great, though annoying fridge was on the room electric which went off when card out of slot. Bed and pillows were very comfy. Hotel clean. Pool bar drinks lacked consistency. Roof top bar exceptional. Breakfast mediocre.

We booked two rooms. They were allocated on different floors which was very disappointing.
Overall a good hotel to stay in with lots of room for sunbeds compared with hotels on that strip.

We really enjoyed our stay here at the Royal. Be aware there are two properties, the "Royal" and the "Beach". I believe the "beach" property has a few more amenities while the Royal is adults only. It definitely caters to a retiree crowd, and as such is nice and quiet! The beach is rocky here but there are multiple jetties that drop you off in deeper water, but the pro-tip is that all beaches in Cyprus are public property so you can swim anywhere! Easily walkable to near beaches that are more sandy if that's your preference. Or hop in a car 30ish mins to Aprodite's Rock, which we loved. We are walkers so we found the approximate 1 mile walk to the main harbor at sunset to be a great way to end our night. Staff was super attentive!

A beautifully clean hotel. Staff work very hard. Good quality food but not exceptional . Need to deal with plastic issues - far too much . Provide filtered water and sell reusable water bottles. Most hotels doing this now. Also no mugs for tea. We boiled our kettle at least 4 times in the mornings ! Provide mugs and you will save electricity. They just need to get in to the 21st century basically! But we had a great stay here.

We were moved to the Athena Beach Hotel as the Royal Athena Beach had a delayed opening. The Athena Beach was much larger than we could have liked and although we were given a room overlooking the beach, we were directly about a noisy children's play area.
Parking at the hotel is shambolic. Signs which say 'No Parking' have cars parked adjacent. Should a guest park in a bay with no 'No Parking' sign they are given a notice. The only parking bays which are reserved are for blue badge holders; however, these are poorly policed allowing people to abuse.
With so many guests, breakfasts in the Atrium can seem chaotic and noisy. Although there was extensive options for breakfast, the quality of bread for toasting was poor and no toast racks were available.
We opted to try a Cypriot themed dinner experience which failed to match the variety offered by nearby tavernas.
Room security can be a problem. A member of staff (not room service), had been in our room during our absence. After checking that nothing was missing, I enquired at the front desk but nobody got back to me with an explanation!
Overall the Athena Beach Hotel was a disappointment and has put us off returning.

The whole complex and our room was kept spotless and smelt very clean. Although we had a classic room it was very large by hotel standards. Plenty of sunbeds, both by the pool and overlooking the sea, and beach towels were provided. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice and cooking stations where chefs prepared eggs to your liking and pancakes. Bar service was good but the nightly entertainment was a bit old fashioned. It would have been nice to have waiter service at the sunbeds by the pool but both the pool bar and the snack bar were good. Location is right next to the sea, about a 20 minute walk to along the coast to the port. There are some pubs and restaurants nearby on the road to the port. Recommended and would stay again.

We used to come back to this hotel again and again, but - probably never again.
Compared to what it was earlier, this time it was big disappointment.
Starting with breakfast - unorganized chaos of seemingly new staff, who were moving a lot, but achieving nothing.
Those service girls occasionally were shouting and yelling among themselves in presence of guests.
Must to mention - occasionally managers, seemingly big bosses were coming in for observation, but they were bringing more chaos than solution. During their presence sime kinda supervisors were joining in to help those poor untrained girls and that part of show was ending immediately as those bosses were gone.
During our stay 15 days, we observed very unstable replenishing of consumed food: lets say coming to breakfast at 9:00 you may see all cheeses gone, no bread and no butter available.
"Greek" style buffet was a joke - if you would open hot dishes (sausages or scrambled eggs) pots you would see discussing uneatable look food-like stuff.
Heated inside pool was just slightly warmer than outside. We informed personnel several times and ..nothing improved. Same chain hotels Pioneer and Athena had really nice warm inside heated pools.
Long story short - huge disappointment compared to what this hotel was earlier.
