It makes me so sad to say this because when initially arriving to the property it is so gorgeous and breathtaking. Dave is so kind and warm and welcoming. He really made me give this location more stars because he really is the best. After initially being told that early check in was possible the day before we arrived at the location to be told no and had to wait 2 and a half hours. It was heavy rain and we were the only people there and the front desk grew rude and impatient with us when we mentioned we were told early check in was possible, that our room would be waiting for us so what were we waiting for exactly? Wild horses roam the property which adds to the esthetic but no one maintains the pathways that are covered in their dung and at night there are no lights so it is like landmines. The room lacks essential needs like hot water, working electrical ports, the refrigerator didnt work, and there is no microwave not only in the room but on the property for public use. You can tell the rooms need to be maintained and upgraded and it is possible Maria really devastated this location and they are still recovering. My boyfriend and I walked around the property and it is beautiful, even the beach is lovely but there is no easy access to it because all stairs have been destroyed. Again with some money and TLC this property could be so much better especially for the price. The pictures on the website oversell the rooms.

First time female solo traveler and this boutique hotel was a gem. Very quiet and beautiful. It’s small with only about 12 rooms I believe but the property is lovely. I felt safe, comfortable and relaxed.

Excellent! Only mild complaint is the bar service, piña colada arrived completely melted. But, everyone was very welcoming, the facilities are beautiful, the pool is open 24/7 and is very clean. The young lady who welcomed us was very nice and sweet.

Terrible service, but I’ve stayed on Vieques 3 times this year alone with great service at other choices. This place was highly suggested but cost 2x more and I was given the wrong room AND NOT WORTH THE VALUE OF ANY OF THE 4 other places stayed on Vieques. A great disappointment

Loved this boutique resort. What I love about this island is it’s small and you disconnect but this Resort still has everything you need as far as Wi-Fi food and drinks Etc. There’s not a bad room on the resort, gorgeous property slightly small beach but plenty of beaches within a short driving distance. I highly recommend getting a vehicle we spent four days just beach hopping, and there were days where we were the only ones minus a couple horses at the beach. This is one of the few places that has a 24 hour pool so it’s really great to come back after a day of exploring to be able to dip in the pool after sunset. The only thing that surprised us was, the restaurant bar is open to the public, and while this is an adults, only location, the restaurant allows children, which was a surprise. But they do not allow children beyond the dining area. Great stay and would come back

A day before our scheduled arrival to Vieques, a staff from this hotel called us and asked if we’d like to be switched to stay at another property, due to concerns of water leaks and potential flooding hazards. We asked them to text us the name of the property that they intend to switch us to, and reached out repeatedly to them later that day, and they didn’t pick up a single call or texted us about any follow up information. It wasn’t until the day after, when we were on the ferry to Vieques island and 2 hours before our check in, that a staff member from Old Crow (the hotel that Blue Horizons switched us to) called us and informed us about this arrangement. Overall, we felt disappointed by Blue Horizon’s unprofessional behavior, and the lack of compensation there was. (The hotel that we stayed at had a market booking fee that’s about 150 dollars less than what we paid Blue Horizons, a gap that was not at all accounted for when they switched our reservation…. Without our consent).

Fluent in Spanish and English But, I didn't realize it doesn't have a TV The beach though seriously beautiful is very dangerous The path up and down is very dangerous Part of the attraction of this property is it has a private beach Not a great selling point when you can't access it Trying to plug in your devices is not good

The property itself is beautiful, and conveniently located for those wanting to be minutes away from Esperanza. Also free parking on-site is convenient for those renting golf carts or cars to visit different parts of the island. The welcome experience we nice, and hotel staff were friendly. We had a smooth check-in experience. The rooms were also clean when we arrived, and well appointed. Note that there is no TV in the room (fine for us since we spent most of our time outdoors). Service at this hotel is not up to the mark considering how much you are paying. - We had to repeatedly ask for our room be be refreshed despite putting up the card on our door the clean our room. - The restaurant on the property was overpriced and below average. The food options were limited (they didn’t have the lobster on the menu), and quality of food was average. You can get much better food outside for much cheaper at the numerous other establishments in Esperanza. - The power went out one afternoon. When we told the hotel staff there was no power, they just shrugged it off and told us that “it’s in the hands of the power company”. For the amount they charge, consider getting some sort of power backup.

The hotel at first looks great. Unfortunately, the rooms need remodeling, bathrooms and new furniture. We stayed May 8 and it rained at 3 am sewer water rose up through the drains of our room. We had to get out and stay in the balcony for 4 hours until staffed arrived. Luggage and other belongings were ruined with sewer waters ( floating human feces ) I do want to say and emphasize that the staff , Taché, Ketcha, David, and rest of the staff were amazing. The staff is what makes this place pleasant. The owner of this place has to recognize the staff. They did all possible to help us get cleaned up as we had to walk in the sewer water to get out our belongings from our room called Isabela.

This was the most amazing swimming pool, ocean view, and sense of calm I have ever experienced at a hotel. Between the chirping crickets and stars at night, pastoral groomed lawns, scenery and small setting there is no comparison. It is the best place to truly escape. With that said I would suggest the following: provide more privacy to restroom with a door/curtain; shower floor is slippery and needs rack in shower; provide bathrobes; upgrade to luxury size room and pool towels. This has potential to be a true 5 star stay, but the restroom thing needs to be addressed. Please keep this adults only!

We loved this little piece of heaven on the island of Vieques. The property is expansive and so beautiful with amazing views of the ocean and the lovely pool. The hotel itself is small which makes for a quiet, relaxing stay. The food was amazing at The Blue and the staff go above and beyond to make your stay special. If you are looking for a bit of action Esperanza is a fun, lively town and is a very short ride away. We are already planning our next trip❤️

Beautiful place with great staff, nice amenities, and spacious rooms. Dave the manger was so helpful and makes you feel welcomed. It’s a quiet and chill environment. We enjoyed having a cocktail by the pool after walking the beach. I loved our stay here and would definitely go back if I get a chance to visit PR again.

Overall the property is great, but the staff and customer service is on the low low side. Bartender is a joke, doesn’t know how to prepare drinks and in my case, I got there around 12 pm, my room was already clean, but the front desk lady said she was leaving for lunch and that I had to wait 1 and a half hours for her to get back and give me my room. They have no clue of what customer service is! Sucks!

Feel the hotel has left a lot of areas deteriorate. My room the door to the bathroom did not close it was unhinged. The area where the closet was had chairs with rust crammed in. The rooms need a lot of TLC.
