We stayed here 5 years ago, and wanted to stay at Hotel Pax again. Grace and her father (the owners) treat you like family, and are so helpful, friendly and kind. They were very accomodating in allowing us to drop off luggage early before check-in, had great restaurant suggestions when asked, and even helped us find a store to buy some walking sticks when my daughter hurt her foot. I would highly recommend this place.

Hotel Pax is a wonderful hotel for a stay in Assisi. It's close to the Piazza del Commune and most of the major churches, monasteries, and convents in the old city of Assisi. The Basilica of Saint Francis is about 12 mins away.
My single occupancy twin bed room was small but fine. The bed was very comfortable! The bathroom was spacious and clean. The shower stall was a bit tight for my size, but that is a common experience in Italy (and France).
The breakfast buffet was well stocked with all kinds of Italian and continental breakfast items and was very much to my liking. The service was exceptional, very friendly and efficient.
The hotel also has a restaurant, Ristorante Medioevo, around the corner which I also can recommend. The food was delicious and the service was great.
If I have the chance in the future, I'll visit both places again.

A very well located property, professionally run by the owner Antonio and his delightful family. The family also run a great restaurant just metres away.

Hotel Pax is a homey, beautiful family run hotel in the perfect location (near St. Clare's Basilica). We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Assisi!

The stay was very good the only problem was the ac units had been shut down for the season and the room was very hot 24 degrees and you could not open the windows as there were no screens and the mosquito were still bad. Great location easy walking distance to all places and the restaurant attached was very good. Breakfast was good even had hard boiled eggs which is a very rare thing in Italy it appears that no one eats a big breakfast here only pastries and coffee

BE AWARE THAT YOU ARE STAYING IN AN MEDIEVAL CITY ON TOP OF A MOUNTAIN WITH STEEP HILLS. THE HOTEL RECEPTION CLOSES AT 2000 hours (8pm) but you can still reach the reception via WhatsApp.
Parking is not connected to the hotel and you must climb a steep hill to walk back from the parking lot to the Hotel. Parking is ONLY 12 Euros/night though and less than 3 minute walk to the hotel. :) I recommend renting a car or taxi to get here, otherwise you will be dragging your bags up a long and steep hill.
After expecting these few factors, this hotel is lovely. It is newly renovated and approximately a 5 to 15 minute walk to any part of the city. The room has its own air conditioning unit (thats controlled by you), windows have blackout shades and comes with toiletries. The food both in the restaurant and the included breakfast was excellent. I believe that their restaurant is the best in Italy and no, they are not paying me to say this.
The owners of the hotel do speak English unlike other hotels. They are also the most patient and kind people you will talk to. They were willing to go above and beyond to make our stay memorable and even assisted us with carrying our bags up the hill into our hotel.
We will definitely stay here again when visiting Assissi!!! Thank you Hotel Pax!!!

What really makes this modest hotel in a fully renovated 900-year-old rich family's house (at a very modest price) so wonderful is the kind and informative hospitality of the owner, Antonio Scaliotti, and his children Graziella and Eduardo.
Upon arrival, Antonio fully briefed us, using a map, on the important sites in Assisi, covering not only location and opening hours, but also their significance. Illustrative of the whole enterprise is that guests are trusted to use the bar on an honor system. If you want the ultimate in 21st Century luxuries, the Hotel Pax is not for you. If you want to engage in the spirit of Assisi, this is the place for you. The family also runs a restaurant right around the corner, which can be welcome after all the ups and downs of Assisi's streets.

The owners went above and beyond our expectations, outstanding customer service. When Google Maps and the car navigation systems directed us to an impassable-barrow medieval road we had to leave it in a no Parking’s zone. The hotel owner knowing we were late was standing outside his hotel looking for us. After checking us in he walked with us to get our car and escorted us to their private parking space. The restaurant recommendation led to the best meal we had in an amazing 6 day tour of Italy! I recommend this place if you plan to stay in Assisi. I know my family will stay at Hotel Pax

The owners and staff made us feel like family. They were extremely helpful. It is easy to get a taxi to take you and your luggage to your door. The location is at the piazza of Santa Maria Maggiore ... just steps from the Chiesa Nueva and the central Piazza ... in other words ... perfect!!!!

Beautiful interior! Stone arches and lovely decor. Of note, to get to the elevator you still have to walk up a small flight of stairs and bfast is down a flight, not elevator accessible. So not handicapped ;)

We loved our stay at Hotel Pax, it was truly a hidden gem in Assisi! The location is excellent and is near the main square, shops, restaurants, and basilicas. Not to mention, the staff are super helpful and friendly, they helped us reserve at restaurants, gave recommendations, and ensured we enjoyed our stay. Our rooms were clean and well sized. Next time we are in Assisi we hope to stay here again : )

The hotel and room/bathroom were amazing - clean and comfortable, nicely decorated. The customer service was excellent, from the time we checked in until the time we left. I believe it is run by a family, who were all very freindly, helpful and accommodating. Also, the breakfast was fantastic - fresh pastries, fruit, meat, cheese and made-to-order cappuccino. Would definitely stay here again!

Very nice location; a little off of the main streets, so quiet. The staff were very friendly, very helpful, and patiently indulged me in my poor Italian, even though they spoke English quite well. Accommodations and breakfast were quite basic but quite good. I very much enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.

We missed two trains from Roma Termini, Antonio, the Owner and manager was waiting for us late to welcome us. He and his son Edwardo made us feel as long lost friends coming home again. The Hotel is a 600 year old structure renovated yet keeping its medieval charm. The whole experience was charming from the beginning to end.

We had a great experience at Hotel Pax. The location is centrally located and ideal for touring Assisi and the surrounding area. Antonio (owner) and his daughter Grace were extremely helpful and went out of their way to recommend restaurants and local hikes. They helped my husband accommodate a dietary restriction on salt and were concerned for our comfort. They were very friendly too. We would definitely recommend this hotel. Only upgrade we’d suggest is around breakfast. Breakfast was a standard Italian menu and could benefit from a few hard boiled eggs and an additional type of cereal.
