Definitely not your typical branded box chain with the same look everywhere you go. Well-maintained boutique property that has motel bones but updated rooms that are very clean, comfy, and modern. Overall a great place to rest your head after work!

Best Place! I have been coming to Palo Alto for years now on business to Stanford and this is one of my favorite places to stay! Extremely clean, quiet, safe, edgy sense of mid century modern room design, nicely landscaped grounds with exotic plants (I loved the cute pelican fountain at the check-in window - that's a newbie for me).
No road noise could be heard in my room in the back building except for birds chirping in the early morning hours which is a huge bonus for those business travelers who know of this hidden gem. Other hotels nearby are entirely right on El Camino and no amount of white noise/noise cancelling devises, ear buds, and insulation will solve the issue.
This motel and the family who runs are both amazing! Like the saying goes, don't judge a book by it's cover!

My room was small but extremely clean and well-organized, including a USB port hub on the bedstand. The entrance is on a busy street but the property itself is hidden and quiet. The hotel is run by a very nice and personable family. A good value, especially for Palo Alto. I would stay there again.

The inside of the room is clean. However no clean up of trash for people who stays many days.

My room was clean, bright and even though not very spacious it was still very comfortable. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind. I liked how through the speaker on the phone they sent a reminder to check out instead of coming to knock on the door. That feature was the best I’ve seen on any hotel as far as check out routines go. If your just passing through town and need a place to sleep comfortably then this is the spot. Very conveniently located too. HThank you Berbeda!

A room at this place is worth no more than $30 a week! When I arrived I was shocked, I couldn't believe I paid for such place. At the entrance I have been asked additional $30 because we were 2 in the room, not just 1 person. Which is unheard of - RIP OFF - I paid because I had been driving and I was exhausted, I needed to rest. From the outside it looks like yellow shopping containers have been used to build this place. It is dirty. The rooms have been set up to look decent, but they smell like old basement. The door of the room had almost 2 inches gap all around!! I couldn't believe it! To take a warm shower I had to wait a few minutes because the water wouldn't warm up.30 min later I checked out, and went to another hotel.

Highly recommended! Don’t let the modest exterior fool you, it’s an excellent place to stay.Standard Room is nostalgic, modern, stylish, comfortable and clean with meaningful and useful amenities (refrigerator, microwave, Keurig with nice coffee and tea selections, lounge chair to sit and watch over 150 channels on dish, soft towels, quality bed linens, bright lighting, vaulted ceilings, usb charger) provided. The Corner Bakery Café next door was open all day and very convenient to have coffee, snacks, and a full breakfast. I found the hotel to be very quiet with low traffic, and in a great location close to Stanford University. Uber to get around for my business meetings. Hip office and friendly front desk staff and service. Price in line with quality offered, and would definitely stay again!

I paid $ 500 per night. The picture was nice. I thought because of the price, it was some sort of boutique hotel. Was I wrong. It was a roadside motel with no amenities. The room smelled strongly of mold. The shower had mold growing. The pillow smelled. I could have gone to a motel and paid around $ 100 even in Palo Alto. It was a complete rip off.

This is your standard roadside stay-with a surprisingly preteen clean room. totally updated. I stayed for one night. nothing fancy.

This was the biggest ripoff I have ever experienced. For $333 this place was a glorified Bates Motel. The person in the office was rude and unhelpful and they give you a wifi password that doesn't work.

Was a okay place but I would not stay there again. Lots of outside noise, not the best lighting in the room. But it was clean and I had no issues.

This is a fabulous little place - friendly and helpful ownership, with actual attention to detail in mind... (for example, I can't even express what having real Kleenex means to me! ) Very comfortable, decently quiet and a nice aesthetic. It's my go to place for the Palo Alto area.

Great place......Bottom line this place is fantastic, nothing less. This is not a newly constructed hotel but modernized and well maintained. Rooms are very clean, comfortable, nice amenities, relaxing, and in a great location. Staff is very welcoming despite my late arrival due to a delay. My regret was that I only stayed there one night. I will be back and stay for multiple nights.

Great hotel – a new favorite!Really amazed by this charming 50’s motel going above and beyond to deliver a cool, authentic experience for travelers. Rooms are modern, laboratory clean and very comfortable/cozy. The in-room Starbucks coffee and fast Wi-Fi were a huge bonus. Very nice room (smelled fresh and clean), 50’s style shower, aesthetic/décor, vaulted ceiling, large screen tv (huge selection of channels >200), microwave, fridge, towels and linens. Staff and housekeeping are very welcoming and informed about the area. Located right next to the Corner Bakery Café that’s open all day long for breakfast, lunch and dinner (great menu – especially loved the coffee/snacks/pastries selection). Mandarin Roots and INDO next door are excellent as well! Simply a superb location in Palo Alto making it easy to grab food and get around. Very close to the train station and Stanford University/Shopping Center. Most of all this PLACE is super quiet, well-lit, secure and safe. I recommend Berbeda for solo travelers.
