Very helpful, polite and friendly staff. The room was spacious clean with very comfy beds. Very quiet as it was facing the interior court.
Some parts were a bit outdated but I guess still functional (we struggled a bit closing down the window) and some bits were missing just thick courtians but nothing to frost the windows without having it completely dark.

Room was small, had no decorations and did not match picture; elevator to get there was the size of a coffin and could not hold one small person with full luggage. Breakfast (optional) was good. Location was excellent.

Loved it! Perfect for solo traveler. The area is wonderful, magical. The staff here is lovely. Room, facilities are clean, well cared for. Windows open for fresh air. Wake to the sounds of seagulls (really quite charming). Morning cappuccinos. Cider, wine and cocktails later in the day. There is a very convenient laundromat just 3 blocks away. I will happily stay here again. Literally only downside was no electrical outlets by the desk (hard to use laptop there) or in the bathroom (unless using a male shaving device). Blow dryer is provided but nowhere to plug in anything else in sight of a mirror. Was fine for me as I just pull my hair into a ponytail and go. Love this hotel!

Very basic hotel. Small room but cosy. Nice stay.

A delightful place to stay with wonderful staff. My room was small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The reception area has tables and chairs and a bar.
The owner is very helpful

It was a great place in the middle of the walled city. Able to walk anywhere. Great crepes across the way!!
I would suggest parking your car outside and not driving in the walled part.

The hotel is in the middle of the old town, getting there by car on a Saturday lunchtime was a bit of an experience. Once at the hotel the staff were very friendly and helpful, some do speak English if you do not speak French. They offer parking at €20/night, it's in an underground car park maybe ten minutes away, cheaper than parking in the large carpark outside we were told.
The rooms are compact but functional, access to the rooms is by stairs, those with impaired mobility may struggle, the lift is up a small flight of stairs. The hotel is in a little square, sitting outside the front of the bar with a drink is nice and relaxing. The whole old town is in walking distance, we stayed for an afternoon and a night before taking the ferry back to Portsmouth and had a lovely time.
The hotel does not serve food apart from breakfast, which we didn't have but it looked good when we checked out.

One night stay very convenient and comfortable

This is my “go to” hotel within the walls of the citadel. It is in a good central location a few minutes walk from the main streets, restaurants and beaches 5 minutes walk away. There are bicycle hoops just outside the entrance and an overnight stay is not disturbed by the early morning activities of the cleaning of the city roads.
3.0
Small room but that's to be expected within the walled city area. Fine for an overnight stop before catching a morning ferry. Close to all shops. bars & restaurants but not noisy. Beware scalding hot water in showers, with no temperature limiter on the taps - very easy to knock the tap onto a higher temperature in small shower enclosure and get burnt.

My room was a good size, the bathroom was small but perfectly adequate. Nice shower, although sometimes took a while to get hot. Bed was comfy.
Great location - about a block inside the gates, bus stop outside takes you into the train station via other parts of town. Ferry port is about 10 minutes’ walk.
Lovely and helpful hosts. Breakfast was very nice.
Will definitely stay here again.

Hotel is in perfect position in old town. Five minutes drive from ferry. Secure car park available for fee. Owners onsite could not be more helpful.

Great position, immaculately clean well proportioned rooms and very good value for money. Staff very friendly and helpful and lovely dog Lucky. Breakfast extensive and well priced. Only drawbacks are the soundproofing which is poor and the world's tiniest lift which will take one person but no luggage so be prpard to walk up and down the stairs!

The hotel was clean and fresh looking. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel is very central yet in a quite area.
Small picky note would have been nice to have a kettle in the room but the room itself including the bathroom was very good and had everything one could wish for.

We booked this hotel wanting a night of rest before the Ferry crossing to Portsmouth, If we had realized how comfortable we were going to be we would have stayed for more than one night. The staff were delightful the rooms were very clean and comfortable and the lift amused us - very ingenious!! It is right in the walled city of St Malo and a perfect place to explore from. Thank you everyone for a memorable stay.

Homey feeling hotel right inside this beautiful walled city. Great location.
5.0
Ideally located in the centre of the walled city only a few minutes from ramparts, beach, shops and restaurants so perfect for exploring. The hotel has a bar with inside and outdoor seating. My room had a window overlooking a private courtyard so the sounds of the nightlife (which was particularly enthusiastic given it was Bastille Day and World Cup final day over the weekend I was there) were quieter than I have known in other hotels intra-Muros. The room was well insulated and I was unable to hear anything from neighbouring rooms. There are public bicycle hoops nearby to the hotel where I could safely secure my bike which was ideal. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for three nights. If you want to use st malo as a base then travel to cancale, dinan, dinard etc, it might be a better idea to live outside the old town in my opinion, as in you don't have to walk at least 40 minutes per day or take taxi etc, but that's not the hotel's fault, it really depends on your travel plan.
The hotel itself, great location, the owner was very friendly, bar and big TV downstairs. Supermarket down the corner.
The room, great value for money.

Perfect location, super staff. Room was tiny and elevator was tinier! Breakfast was just right.

Im surprised this hotel is a 2 star rating as I would have thought it a 3. Location couldnt be better right in centre of the old towns boutique shops and cobbled streets. A small intimate hotel run by a lovely husband and wife who are happy to help with any advice. A typical French buffet breakfast which was great and included in price Rooms are small as you would expect in an old building but clean, comfortable and perfectly adequate. Lovely view over the square with doors opening onto a tiny balcony. There are no tea coffee facilities in room but you could purchase at the bar downstairs for small charge. You can drive to door of hotel to drop off luggage then need to go to a parking garage for 14 euros per day if you have booked a space beforehand with hotel. That was quite a hair raising experience with finding it in old town and small spaces but ok. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It made for a great French hotel experience

Delightful small hotel with a very good location in the old part of town..it is an easy walk from the ferry terminal and to the gorgeous beaches nearby . Rooms are very small and spartan but functional and very clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel

We stayed at this hotel on a previous occasion and returned because we found the proprietors to be most friendly and welcoming. In particular, although they speak English which is far better than our French will ever be, they were most patient with my efforts.

The staff were extremely helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, but very small. I would not describe the tiny area outside our room as a balcony and the lift was so tiny as to be almost unusable. None-the-less the hotel was a excellent base for exploring the sights and restaurants of St Malo.

A great little hotel, perfectly located inside the walled city. Small, yes, but perfectly adequate, very clean and well maintained rooms. Great breakfasts and very friendly and helpful staff.
Would stay here again.

I spent 4 nights here and was very happy with the hotel. The rooms are really clean and showers have plenty of hot water and fresh towels daily. The beds are comfortable too. The friendly hosts and good breakfasts made it very pleasurable and easy to stay in this conveniently located hotel. Easy walk to get to the ferries and plenty of buses nearby.

We used the hotel as an overnight stop before catching the ferry back to UK - but found the whole area worthy of more time. Excellent value for a clean and welcoming small hotel set in an interesting part of France.
