Unique place to stay with a very friendly host

This Riad was amazing!!! It was beautiful. But the true gem was my Riad host Fahad. He was my knight in shining armor. Upon arrival I was a little taken back by the surroundings. However within a couple hours he had me feeling at ease and even on the back of his moped. This Riad is breathtaking.

We loved this Riad. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room, court yard and balcony were great. The food was wonderful nd it was so nice to have a place to just hang out and relax. The location was very convenient to the market, square and historical buildings.
The only warning is you have to walk to about 1/2 mile to get to it and there are lots of little stairs in the riad. If you have mobiliy issues this might not be the right choice for you.

They picked us up from where the taxi can enter (you call them before arriving) and walked us and the bags to reception with sweet mint tea and biscuits. The hotel is gorgeously and thoughtfully decorated. Our room was huge, beautiful solid wood furniture and nice decor. Spacious bathroom with eco friendly dispensers of soap and shampoo.

I highly recommend this hotel. The next time we’re going to Marrakech, Riad Les Ammonites will be our first choice because we loved our stay. Facilities and the quality of service were excellent. There were usb outlets on the wall which helped us recharging our phones so conveniently. Breakfast was so delicious homemade and so fresh so we didn’t think about having breakfast outside. The staff were super super friendly and passionate about their hotel and also making sure guests are comfortable. Fahd and the crew were so friendly. He showed us around the hotel, gave us great guidance and provided whatever we needed as if we were literally staying in their own house. They went above and beyond and made our stay so pleasant and memorable. Thanks again :)

Amazing Riad in the Medina.
The staff are absolutely lovely! Nothing was too much for them, always attentive, provided brilliant advice on tours, places to visit and educated us on their culture, faith- It really felt like family.
I definitely recommend this place and will defo be back.

Unfortunately I am not able to recommend this hotel. Location is not bad, the service is fine too but only if you don’t get in direct contact with the owner Cinzia. As far as I am concerned she is a person who doesn’t respect her customers. During our stay our privacy was brutally disrupted – they have decided to paint the windows inside our room! It was entered by unknown persons who were not even employees of the hotel. And up to this moment I am not sure that none of our personal belongings are missing as they were moved around. The room smelled of fresh paint and it was impossible and dangerous to stay in it. I made them give us another room for the rest of our stay even though they wanted to give it for a night only saying that the hotel was fully booked. I told the hotel that such a behavior was totally unacceptable and asked for one night compensation. At that point Cinzia just stopped communicating – she didn’t take calls nor answered mails. Only when I wrote that I am going to try to solve the situation through expedia/hotels.com I got an answer that I menace her with Expedia and she will give no compensation at all.
And another thing: the hotel is not cheap by Marrakech standards but the breakfast there is no better than one typically expects in a hostel. Unless you like to fill your belly with a lot of dough in different forms accompanied by a very bad coffee and glass of acid orange juice this is not your place.

An excellent Riad in Marrakech with a awesome people working there, always paying attention to all your needs and with a big smile. One of my best booking in time

Riad was really run down and not in a very nice area. Really inconvenient to get to. The bathroom was OK but the toilet was leaking from the commode, yuck!! Bedsheet had a red stain on it. There was a spa but did not have any water in it. The breakfast was horrible and everything was out of the box and just warmed up. No one there to ask for any eggs or anything, The staff was nice and tried their best but couldn't make up for bad management!! I definitely would not stay there again.

Nice Riad in Medina. Relaxing and calm atmosphere. Nice rooftop. Good location, but you need to walk a bit from the taxa, the Riad is in and arrow street, where you have to be aware of young "very politely" boys, they are watching out and they want your money (once a young boy around 10 suceeded to open my stomackpurse, while elder boys talked to me). At the Riad they said, dont talk to the boys in the street!

Staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. It can be a bit tricky to find the first time but most places are in the Medina. Once you know your way its easy enough to find. They also give you a map and helpful app for directions to the markets. Would highly recommend.

Riad Les Ammonites was the perfect place to stay on our trip to Marrakech. The staff (especially Fehd & Francesca) is incredibly helpful and goes above and beyond to make your trip fantastic. The excursions we booked through the hotel were all reasonably priced, smoothly executed, and made the whole trip more fun. Best of all, the Riad employs an authentic Moroccan chef and the food is incredible (better than any of the restaurants or street food in the actual Medina that we tried).
Some food tips to travelers: try the Khili (Egg) Tagine for breakfast at least once. Try the chicken tagine for dinner w/ an affordable bottle of wine at least once as well. We had dinner at the riad 3 out of the 4 nights we were there and wished we hadn't gone out for dinner at all!
SAFETY RELATED: Having cellular internet and mapping directions to the hotel is really important. At night, being able to follow those directions back is crucial. In addition, NO STREET IS EVER CLOSED IN THE MEDINA. Saying this is a primary tactic of many locals to keep tourists in the Medina and guiding them away from their "hotel" while they are lost, then demanding a large tip for their "services" were possibly the only negative experience we had in Morocco. Once we caught onto this tactic, Marrakech felt much safer at night.

Very helpful staff!! After we learned to go around in medina and didnt get lost anymore, We also found the location of this riad very good. Near many restaurants and places. The riad was very peaceful inside, We enjoyed the roof terrace especially.

The Riad is very beautiful, clean and very cozy. The rooms are decorated traditionally and very nicely. Breakfast was included and very good. Dinner was inexpensive and delicious. Francesca the manager is super nice and helpful and makes your stay much easier. Just the location. The Riad is in Old Medina and in a very dark and narrow alley (no driving possible) We were afraid to go out after dark. Other than that is is a beautiful place!!!

We really enjoyed our five nights at Les Ammonites. Francesca was quick to respond to our emails beforehand and was a great host during our time. The Riad is very nice, quiet, and clean. We took a cooking class at the Riad which was really enjoyable. Francesca set up a driver to pick us up at the airport and bring us back at the end of our trip. Everything was really, very nice.

This was a real experience of the traditional Morocco staying in a Riad in the middle of the Medina. If you're looking for a fancy 5 star hotel with all the amenities I suggest you look elsewhere. If you want a taste of the traditional Morocco with great views of the Medina from the rooftop terrace, a traditional room with authentic decor and a real Moroccan breakfast this is the place for you. The staff couldn't be more friendly, its as if they are host to you being a guest in their home, its a more intimate experience than a hotel.

Second visit to city. Riad was great. Friendly staff, lovely room. Great bed and shower. Food was so tasty. Make sure you have at least one evening meal. Location in medina was central , easy to navigatensure and minutes from everywhere. Book and you will not be disappointed.

We stayed 3 nights in a fantastic suite in this beautiful and quiet riad. The host is really helpful and kind, the stuff tried to provide different breakfast every morning during our stay. Wifi is not very stable though.

Very good Riad but not very close to the main square (walk about 10mins);

Staff really friendly. Food was good. Room was nice. Only thing that let the place down is the location. Its in the old town in the middle of all the souks which are a maze of tiny winding streets. Very hard to find your way around and taxis cant fit up them to take you home. Area is very dodgy at night

We had a great 4 night stay in this riad earlier in the year. Houda and her team made us feel very welcome. The riad is lovely and the rooms are full of character. The breakfast was an absolute highlight - different every day and always so tasty. My top tip would be to contact Houda ahead to arrange an airport transfer - this riad is off the beaten track, and you will need someone to guide you there. I would also recommend asking Houda to arrange a guided tour for you on your first morning, a great way to immerse yourself and help you get your bearings. The rooms are cool and relaxing, and the riad is always full of a lovely aroma of burning fragrant oils. Good location close to the markets, ben youssef madresa and the photography museum, which was a real highlight. We did find that the riad was a little isolated and we didnt feel comfortable walking around at night, so grab dinner out early and relax in the riad courtyard with a Casablanca beer after dark.

This Riad was excellent, staff was very nice and within 10 minutes relaxing walk from the main square. My room was big and spacious, with big windows facing the courtyard, comfortable bed, and a nice, big bathroom, very relaxing after dealing with the hustle and bustle of Medina. My only complaint is about the breakfast (which I found in all the Riads I stayed throughout the Morocco) which is heavy on carbs and sweet stuff. I think adding some fresh fruits and eggs would make it better.

Wonderful quiet space hidden away in the alleyways of the Medina. Definitely recommend booking taxi via Houda at the Riad to get you there and guide you in. Not expensive but really good value for money

The Riad is beautiful, we would highly recommend it, service fantastic, welcomed and the homemade chicken and lemon tagine is lovely, served in front of a real fire, it was December after all! Riad hard to find, bit of difficulty with the locals who insisted on taking us there, then demanded money and apparently what we gave them was not enough, riad owner had to step in, its about 15-20 mins walk to the main square, all in all a good place to stay and the roof terrace is very peaceful.

aside from it being a little difficult to find this place is a great hidden gem centrally located in the medina

I booked this for a five-night stay. I wanted somewhere in the old city, where I could walk out and be in the heart of the Medina and this was perfect.A lot of the reviews mention that it's hard to find the Riad. Let's be realistic: the Medina is a maze of hundreds of tiny streets stretching for miles, winding around old buildings. There are no straight lines, there aren't many road signs, and four-wheeled vehicles can't reach down some streets. EVERYTHING is hard to find! But if you're worried, the best thing by far is to ask the hotel to arrange a taxi from the airport, who will take you to the nearest point accessible and there a porter will take you the rest of the way on foot. Just like Venice, but way more exotic! If you ignore the mopeds, you'd think that the Medina hasn't changed in hundreds of years.Anyway, back to the Riad. I was welcomed warmly on arrival (by Houda, who is great) and shown around the property. There's a terrace on the roof, a courtyard inside, a tiny little dining room of maybe four or five tables and (I think) about seven or eight bedrooms maximum. So it's a very intimate and personal place, not like a hotel. My room was big -- I had a very comfortable double bed, a large chaise longue, a good-sized bathroom and a fairly small wardrobe (just as well I didn't have a lot of clothes!). The WiFi is very good indeed throughout the Riad: better than most hotels and airports. Breakfast was excellent -- and they seemed to be very flexible about what
