Very central in town. Really friendly. I found the people in Nelson including the staff Very pleasant and caring to one another

I liked the clranliness and not being overwhelmed by people...due to covid i guess. I didnt like music playing in hallways...npt everyone has the same tastes Giy on front frsk made me feel teally welcome. Bread in kitchen was good too.

Quite clean and tidy, nice to see free bread for breakfast in the kitchen. Room was facing the road and quite noisy (not sure why, it was as if the buildings were amplifying the noises made by every car or person that walked past) so didn't sleep well.

Hostel staff were nice and (mostly) helpful. Internet is limited to 1 Gig per 24 hrs unless you pay them for unlimited (i want to say 2 NZD). You can’t see how much internet you have left (the interface it shows you when you log on is inaccurate) but it will stop if you use it all. The room I was in didn’t have lockers. Instead we were supposed to use the set in the hallway which felt less secure to me. Also, the bathrooms near my room almost inevitably had water on the floor (I think one of the fixtures was leaking). Overall still a pleasant stay.

Nice well equipped hostel. Comfortable beds. Pretty good soundproof, lived in single room. Central and good location near the bus. Missed free tea / coffee.

Staff is very friendly. Kitchens are huge, wished there would be a few more frying pans. Our room was basic, nothing special (double room with no bathroom) and clean.We had a good night there. Good location In Nelson, Intercity just around the corner.

Location was great! So close to restaurants, grocery stores and shops. Room smelled like feet. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm. The common area was huge and there were 2 kitchens which made socializing very fun

All of them were so pleasant and so helpful that we told them so directly when it was time to check out. The hostel is clean and well equipped. We were early for checking in and they put our food needing refrigeration in their own fridge. Our double room was clean and well equipped including a TV. Furnishings are always sparse in hostels even in the private rooms but the value for money can't be beat. We also rented bikes for 3 hours. Bikes were in good condition. They were not concerned about charging us extra when we were out longer than planned. These things really make a difference to your feeling about a place.

Place with internet and wi-fi not reliable to use because it was off most of the time. When we asked about it the lady at the reception answered that her lap top was working fine and their was nothing she could do about it.

The hostel had good, reliable and free Wi-Fi. The bathrooms were clean and the kitchen was adequately stocked. The free artisan bread was also a nice gesture. I had a twin room that was small for 2 beds any I wished it was bigger.

Great place to meet people. The desk staff were very helpful and nice. The rooms are a bit small, but there are plenty of bathrooms and showers. Three areas to relax in. Free bread every day. Gas grill and patio area. Super location near shops and restaurants.

The location is great, next to supermarkets and restaurants. Its well cleaned and the showers are good. All beds have power outlets by their side.The location is a bit noisy from traffic and maybe for this reason the room had ony a tine window and a wall covered with wood, so it was a bit hot there.

Excellent spot to get provisions (several close by supermarkets & camping shops) & get ready to hike the Abel Tasman & Heaphy tracks.Bus connections here to to start of tracks.

A good central hostel. I stayed in a private room which was perfectly adequate and suitable for my needs. The kitchen and seating area was quite large and clean and functional. The hostel was let down by a staff member who came across as pretty rude and indifferent when asked a question, which is why I have give a low mark, customer service counts for a lot. I stayed in a few backpackers in New Zealand and this was definitely the worst in terms of service. It's a shame as I think the guy who runs it is really friendly and wants to help.

I was disappointed when I knew there isn't lift. Impossible to bring a heavy big luggage to your room. I had to leave it in a coin locker which is at ground floor. It costed $2. Others were pretty good.

Great location, city central, near to bus depot. Staff at front desk were very friendly and welcoming, rooms and facilities were clean, and you can even have your bags stored for a few days between nights staying there. Would defintetely return here on next trip to Nelson...

I booked a room here as I was passing through the area to visit Hobbiton, and wasn't sure I could make it back to Hamilton.The building is firstly a pub, so there was a little bit of noise. However the rooms for staying in are apart from the pub, and a security door blocks any public access.The room was a decent size, and for just the one night was everything I needed. The bed was comfortable, and being winter, I was glad of the extra heater and blanket in the room. There is a small kitchen for people to use with free tea and coffee, plus a microwave, fridge and bowls, plates etc available, which if you're looking to save money on food is great.My only downer on the room was that it could have been a little cleaner. There were quite a few bits on the floor which made me think it hadn't been vacuumed.
