Very nice and clean, room is small but that’s to be expected in Europe if your custom to the US. The room could use a shelf in the bathroom to put your stuff when getting ready. Refrigerator in room is nice and works well. Very pleased with the accommodations

Beautiful views of Manarola…very convenient location, comfortable bed, air conditioning, nice service!

Nice location and excellent view. Check-in was a little challenging and should be easier.

Very nice room with a balcony. Host was very easy to communicate with. Walking distance to everything in town.
Parking is at the top of town in a paid parking lot. You will have to walk down - this is typical in the area.

Room had beautiful stone & tile work; it was very conveniently located. The mattress has a metal spring sticking thru. There was some black mold starting in the bathroom. A full refresh is needed with a new mattress.

Come for the area, not the stay. Beds were uncomfortable, sink in the bathroom leaked. Was difficult to access the property, as well as the communication for check-in

Unit was clean. There was no toilet seat, shower head did not work properly, twin bed was very uncomfortable. Most disappointing was lack of communication from owner prior to arrival. I sent several messages the week prior to arrival with no response. I finally reached him the night before via telephone. Instructions to get into unit were very good.

No cleaning service was provided despite Giovanni statins there would be. No toilet paper or additional soap was available.

The property had basic amenities. Luckily it was for one night only! Compared to other apartments rented in the same period, we had coffee and sometimes water which is appreciated when you arrive in the evening. the access to the appartement was not easy and had to park the car far. the place had no shops around. If you want to stay in cinq terre, i would recommend another village.

This property is all about the location which is great! The view from the seaside room is outstanding! There is parking available outside of town which is close to the room and downhill from the parking lot but I would advice packing light and it is a trek carrying your luggage back up to the vehicle. If you come in by train, the trek up to the room with you luggage will be the hard part with the walk back down to the train much easier. Giovanni’s communication at check-in was great as he sent me a video illustrating how to walk to the room from the Bell Tower however I wasn’t able to get ahold of anyone at check-out and ended up just leaving the keys in the room which seemed to work fine. We would definitely stay here again.

The host Giovanni was very helpful during our stay and made good recommendations to help us enjoy our time in Manarola.

Far to overpriced...
No service at all, the room can do with some paint work and new furniture.
Charging more than €250 per night for a little room that hasn't been taken care of is completely unreasonable.
I understand the mechanics of supply and demand but no circumstances would we return.
The host also claimed that their card machine is "not working" and asked us pay him the full amount cash with the promise of a 10% discount. I leave it to you imagination of the reasons behind it...

The property has beautiful views from a small balcony. There are many stairs to the property. Overall, the room was unfortunately too hot to make for a good nights rest. The washer would not work. Not recommended for elderly. Fantastic town though

Location is great with view of sea. There are lots of steps, so please make sure you are able to carry your suitcase up 4 steep flights of stairs.
Amenities said laundry but we found out we did not have access to washing machine.
Check in was very easy and very nice service.
The toilet lid kept falling off and would hit the drain pipe and disconnect the pipe allowing water to flood the bathroom until we reconnected it.
Toilet was only a few inches from the shower, so could barely sit on toilet.
Beds were not comfortable.
Manarola is a wonderful town and the views were perfect from this place.

Unbeatable views of a truly magical village. Close walking distance to everything, and if you're feeling adventurous you can get to the path towards the other villages without much trouble. Clean and beautiful room. Highly recommend!

Great location and we loved our room and deck even though we didn’t have a view. Nice and cool every time we came home! It was a little tough getting ahold of someone to check in.

No staff but owner response was immediate with incredible detailed directions! Great air conditioner!! Bed was ok. No shampoo or conditioner provided but I had brought mine.

I’m so glad we selected to stay at Giovanni suites for our 1 night stay in cinque terre. The location is perfect - only a 5 minute walk from the parking area in Manarola and the train station. The room was perfectly clean, including the bathroom. Our room (no.3) had a small terrace which was lovely, but our view was of the street. When we come back, we will request the room with the sea view ahead of time (there are notes in the accommodation that suggest you to request a particular room).
We were to arrive outside of the regular check in time, and Giovanni was extremely responsive and easy to coordinate our check in instructions. He was also very helpful with a parking map as we were not familiar with the area.

Owner was very nice and helpful. Can’t give 5 stars because we didn’t get shampoo. Room was very comfortable and I like the location. We got the room with a nice view. Make sure you have enough money for room. Everywhere you go in cinque Terre asks for cash only

Clean, quite, only a few minutes walk from anything. If driving, have to park up the hill at the pay public lot and pull your luggage down the hill (and back up when you leave) but it’s much closer than it looks. You may never see the manager (thus the neutral service rating) but really no need to. We’d stay here again.

The room is in a converted home , more like an apartment. Very new and modern. The stairs are an issue as they are steep (not up to US code) and narrow which makes it difficult to haul a heavy suitcase up them (no elevator in the place). There is no receptionist and you contact the owner by email or phone.
The "hotel" is at the top of a hill and it is a steep climb to get there. About 200 meters up hill.
Great view!. Close to restaurants.

this room contributed a lot as to why we had a great stay in Manarola, the location is convenient, close to restaurants, close to Volastra trail, Bella Amore trail and the coastal trail, Ristorante dal Billy is delicious and its really close to the apartment. They had amazing homemade pasta and creamy balsalmic which we bought a bottle of. We felt like locals living in Italy on our stay here. The train station is close and you can hop from one village to another, as well as go to another city if you like. The owner was very trusting, we told him we were arriving late and he gave us all the information we need to get in the apartment. He trusted us completely with leaving payment in the drop box at the end of the trip. The room was clean, the cleaning lady also came everyday. The bathroom is new and we loved the water pressure on the new shower. The view was spectacular. We could see the water and the apartments lined up in a curve in Manarola towards the water.By the way, you have to take a lot of stairs if you are on top floor like we were but we were completely fine with it.We had breakfast at a nearby coffee shop, near the church everyday. Overall an awesome experience.

It was great and just what we wanted and needed on our vacation. The staff was very accommodating.

It was a tale of two rooms...one terrible and one lovely. My understanding is that there are 5 rooms in the Giovanni rooms. We were initially given the room on the ground floor. I would strongly encourage Giovanni to stop offering this room, or if offering it, drop the price to 60-70 euros/night. This room has no window, just a door with tinted glass that is on the street level and there was so much noise from the street we hardly slept. The bathroom was small with no place to hang towels or place toiletry bags. We complained (though not to Giovanni - we never saw him after check-in) and we were able to move to a room upstairs. The room upstairs had a mini fridge, a much larger bathroom, a sea view and no further street noise. As many have noted in other reviews, the host claims on websites that he takes credit cards, but on arrival, he tells you he can't and only accepts cash. This was tricky for us as there was only 1 ATM in the town. Had we seen Giovanni on the second day, we might have asked for some of our money back having stayed in the downstairs room for a night, but our room switch was accomplished through the help of the housekeeper who spoke to him over the phone. Cinque Terre is gorgeous, and our upstairs room was all we could want, but would advise anyone staying here to be sure they were in an upstairs room before committing to a reservation.

First of all, the property is a private town house with no staff/owner whom we could directly meet upon check-in or check-out (if we depart before 10:30am on the next day). The payment needs to be collected by the owner, not by Expedia per booking says. The property owner had an instruction sheet left in our room, asking us to pay the room stay with cash (Euros) and leave the money in an envelope provided. We were instructed to leave the keys in the room too and lock the room when we depart. They said they would later email us a receipt for our room payment made in cash. Unfortunately, the owner never emailed us the receipt, even after our requests (they just do not respond us). But then at the same time, the owner went ahead and charged our credit card (that was given to Expedia when we booked the room) for the room charges. So basically, the owner not only took our cash payment, but also charged our credit card. We had to file a dispute later with the credit card company. Therefore, please be careful so you will not be a victim like we are.

Great place for a quick trip to Manarola. Easy access to parking if you're traveling by car. Many steps, but...it's Manarola although, very steep steps up to the room. We were traveling light but these steps could be issue with big bags. Stay was during the first part of March and we could not figure out how to work the heater so it was cold but hey, that's not so bad if you share the experience.

My boyfriend and I booked this at the last minute due to a change in our travel plans, and we were so happy we did!! This was our favorite stay in Italy, unfortunately it was only for one night. The room was charming and cozy, with very unique accents such as the stone wall and stone in the bathroom. The view though!! It was breathtaking. I felt like I was in a fairytale, looking down at the village and ocean. It was very quiet - we could not hear any of the other guests. Check in was very easy too, the owner was not there to meet us but we just used the intercom to call their cell, they buzzed us in, and we could head right to our room. All of the instructions were neatly organized in a book in the room. We ate at Trattoria dal Billy for dinner, just a short walk from the hotel, and it was phenomenal - highly recommended!! This hotel is located in Manarola, and it was by far the most unique and beautiful place we visited. I read on some other reviews about the steps to get there, but we parked along the road before the entrance to the village, and it was not a difficult trek at all. Just had to carry our bags from the door up a flight of stairs to the room. I cant wait to go back!!

Nice mountain and sea views from the room, a bit small of the rooms but with new decoration and fully furnished. Want to be back again.

Can't remember name of room, but on first floor on the left. Nice room with a nice view of the town. Bed was comfortable. BUT the reek coming from the bathroom could be absolutely overpowering. The shower leaked, pooling water near the toilet; the sink took forever to drain. Left a note about it when we left and haven't heard anything although it's been a week. There is no one on premises at all--even at check in you press a button that is connected to the owner's cell phone and he buzzes you into the building remotely. Plus, payment is in cash that you leave in an envelope in the room when you leave. Frankly, I think this is fine, but with the bathroom situation it would've been nice to have someone around to ask about it. And promised free bottled water never materialized.

Touring many of the sites of Italy. Heard that Cinque Terra was a must see. That proved to be a fact. Spent some time in Manarola. Giovanni Rooms are located high in the city near the church. The view of the town and ocean did not disappoint. Emails from the owner made the rooms easy to find as did his meeting us in the church yard. Clean well maintained and comfortable it was a great place - near a nice local bistro for dinner and or lunch. Would stay there again in the future.
