The room was in disrepair and smelled terrible. Loose tiles around the shower. Toilet seat fell off. Broken bed springs. Gaps in the wall around the ac unit. Shortened our stay. Only stayed the first night because we arrived late and had pre-payed online. Couldn’t wait to leave. One very good thing was the proximity to the boardwalk. Across the street from an entrance ramp. Pool looked nice but we didn’t stay to enjoy it.

Nice clean

The boardwalk is a half a block away and right in the heart of it with all the rides just a few steps away.

It wasn’t to bad. The pool was not the cleanest. The woman at the desk when checking in was really nice.

A shabby little hotel, desperately in need of an upgrade. But it was clean enough, and in a great location. Absolutely fine for a quick beach getaway.

It was absolutely disgusting

The staff was friendly and helpful but the property overall was unkept and not a place to bring children.

Surfside Motel was a basic beach motel. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean but could use some updates it did have a very small bathroom. The swimming pool was also clean. The people at the front desk were very helpful and friendly someone always there if you needed anything. Onsite parking, and very close to the boardwalk and beach.

Great location. Room and property run down.

Very close to beach ⛱️ 👌

Bonus is that the motel is steps away from the beach and boardwalk plus a nice little breakfast restaurant on other corner. The room we were in did have a view of the ocean. The workers that I had interactions with were nice but the lady that checked us in had a thick accent, couldn't understand her totally but she was nice and funny.
Stayed in one of what they list as an apartment but it's really a studio and the bathroom is extremely tiny. Good thing I'm short, I don't see how anyone much taller can fit in there. Towels are small and not very absorbent, glad I brought one from home.
I let my friend have the bedroom space and I took their so called pullout bed in living space. I think this was broken as the middle connector/joint was popped out and was sticking me in my side all night and the bottom half kept plopping downwards and to the left, this was super uncomfortable. Also this place comes with nothing. So bring sheets and pillow if you will be using the pull out bed. Also bring any plates, cups, silverware, pots, etc if you plan on making meals. And bring hangers too if you need them. Luckily the dresser has deep drawers.
The worst part of staying here was that someone stole my brand new beach towel that I had hanging on the balcony while I was out for a few hours. Hope karma catches up to them.
They do offer parking spots in the rear but they are super tight!
Overall my stay was ok all things considered.

The front desk lady at check in was nice. Pool was dirty. The room was very dirty I don’t think the comforter was even washed since found hair and crumbs on it, bathroom was disgusting, mold in curtains, toilet wasn’t even cleaned. The floors didn’t seem like they have been cleaned for a while, the TV didn’t even work. Humidity etc Distance to the boardwalk was the only good thing!

We had an excellent time! This is the 3rd year we have stayed here and never had an issue! Great place and convenient

One block from Seaside Height boardwalk. So easy to have fun, eat, hear music.
Staff was very attentive and helpful.
Old motel style with character but no frills. We enjoyed the step back in time.

AMAZING LOCATION!!!!
Very run down seaside motel, definitely fixable, and a good value in my opinion.
I sat on a broken chair by the pool (it didn't look broken, but my ass fell right through when I sat!! Ow), some stairs are wobbly, rust all over and cracks in the pool area could use a little bleach, caulk, and a touch up paint job.
Our two-double-bed room on the third floor itself was very basic, and not horrible. The bed was comfortable, and the bedspreads were clean and not scary as I've experienced in other seaside motels.
Free parking is a great amenity, but it's behind the motel, and very tight. The lot needs to be cleaned up too, there's all kinds of debris, I was hoping not to pop a tire.
(I didn't)
Across the street from Lucky Leo's arcade, and Jimmy's breakfast restaurant.
Overall, great little place for a seaside heights getaway.
Location location location.

The mattresses were dirty and the sheets had stains all over , the room was clean to the best of its ability , a lot of rust and mold on the ceiling and the bathroom . Cigarettes are all over the property ! The noise was pretty bad 2 out of 4 nights but close to everything the staff was very nice the parking was very tight! All the motels around seaside are about the same with outdated rooms

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. The location is very close to the beach and boardwalk, this was our second year at this hotel.

For an old, slightly outdated hotel it really is perfect for what it is, a place to crash while at the beach. Reasonably priced, clean, smelled good, has a nice pool.

Excellent location, and we had a good view from the balcony outside our room. Motel is a bit outdated and run down, but rooms are clean. It is what I expected for the price, and area.

The staff here were friendly & accomodating, we loved the location of our room to the pool & beach. the property could use some repair. The bathroom sink was not fixed, the shower faucet came off the wall, under the kitchen sink there was black mold, some of the windows would not open. However, the staff was generous with towels, TP, and even gave us a coffee pot and pots and pans to use at no charge. Also, the security guard seemed to not notice the teenagers dangling from the balconies.

I rented the apartment it is very small and the pull out couch is a leather futon with a board down it. We had to go buy a blow up mattress also we had to pay the 13 dollars a day for the beach with a family of 7 everyday because we did not get free access at booking. We also couldn’t have two parking spots even thought we had so a large family. The bathroom was so small if u weigh over 120 u can’t fit on the toilet bc it is beside the sink u have to sit sideways. Underneath the sink was nothing but black mold. We also had to buy a tv bc there is only one tv in the room when it is an apartment there is suppose to be 2. Very unhappy with the stay. On a good note very convenient to the beach and didn’t find any bed bugs I searched. The place was very loud at night no staff stopped it.

If you want a place close to beach and boardwalk…this is a find. It’s old, run down but it works. We were 4…2 adults,2 kids……2 nights was plenty.

This was a surprisingly good place for the value.
Workers were super nice and the price was great especially for beginning of August.
Now you can get much nicer places but you would be paying for it.
The pool was also nice.
I would definitely stay here again especially if I’m looking to save money.

My daughter plays travel ball and we have stayed in hundreds of hotels. I have never payed over $200 per night. This hotel was $249. We have stayed in a few bad hotels but this one tops the list. The bathroom door didn’t even close. Wood was rotted, ceiling stained, etc. Dirtiest hotel ever.

old building and rooms, but great location!!

Average, kind of old and a little crusty, but decent enough for one night. Pool was a lot smaller than photos made it appear but clean and lots of families enjoying it. Facilities are old and outdated but room was clean enough, smelled like bleach, great location for boardwalk and proximity to island beach state park, wouldn’t stay here again though.

The pool was not heated. It was very unsafe.

They charged us for the room twice when I told them about it they said it’s not their problem and was arguing with me so be careful if you pay online when you get over there they will say you didn’t pay at all and charge u again horrible experience

Good points: staff was very nice and friendly. The bed was very comfortable. Everything (shower, air conditioner, TV, refrigerator, microwave, ice machine, swimming pool) worked. Great location right across from the boardwalk and only blocks from the amusement park. And the swimming pool, though small, was very nice.
Cons: I have never before stayed in a building that felt structurally unsound, but this one did. We were on the third (no elevator) floor. The stairs themselves were solid, but some of the metal railings were held in place with hose clamps. And the floors, which were probably originally concrete, had been covered by what felt like plywood sheets covered in fiberglass and painted grey. In some spots the flooring felt hollow or spongy when you stepped on it. The door to our room was rotted and split, and had been bolted back together. The dead bolt didn't work, and the door knob lock looked like it could be defeated with a plastic butter knife. We were never sure that it was actually locked. There wasn't a level surface in our room, and when the people next door started moving furniture around it felt like the whole building was shaking. Other than that there were no lights aside from the ceiling lights, so it was pretty dark in the room. There was literally no place to hang anything. No closet area, no wall hooks, nothing. And the shower curtain rod was only attached (loosely) to the wall on one end, so that wasn't going to hold anything.

People were outside of room drinking beer cat calls, peeping through windows. Saw security open someone window for no apparent reason. Did not feel safe and stains on sheets shower broken left same day we checked in. Really would like a refund.

The place has a nice vibe. Like all motels on or around the boardwalk, the place is a bit out dated and the rooms are small - but if this is just a place to lay your hat while you are out enjoying the beach, then this is not a bad deal. I would stay here again with my family.
