This place was one of the best stays if not the best I have ever had in Puerto Rico. The owner was hands-on and was a wonderful and nice woman. They were very accomodating when my friends asked for a different room. It was not expensive and she offered a light breakfast with coffee, juices, cereal, hardboiled eggs, and fresh fruit in the morning.

Wonderful experience with very friendly hosts ( Kelly and Penny). We received very useful taxi & tour advices from the hotel two days prior to our arriving. Those are truly helpful tips that saved us money and efforts in transportation and Vieques tours arrangement - Very thoughtful & useful service from the hotel staff!

It was a fantastic experience. The place is beautifully set with horses on the property, which added a charming, rustic feel. Although we didn't ride them, waking up to the sounds of chickens and other animals in the morning was refreshing and peacefuuul !! The room had both an AC and a fan, but I barely needed them at night as there was a lovely breeze coming in through the windows, making it a comfortable stay. The room was clean and well-maintained, and Penny, our host, was an absolute pleasure to meet. She made our stay even more enjoyable with her hospitality ! It feels like home ! Breakfast was delicious, and Penny helped us with transportation, even providing us with a list of local taxis to contact. And explained to us on the map for sites to visits and see Overall, my stay at Sea Gate Guesthouse was relaxing and memorable, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful escape in Vieques. Big thank you to Penny !

At the SeaGate hotel in Vieques we were amaze ! The tropical environment was enchanted. Trees, palms and floral bushes. Clean and beautiful rooms. Kelly had breakfast ready for us every morning. She treat us like preferred clients. Thank you Kelly and Penny for your hospitality!

Older building but very well maintained. The small pool is perfect for cooling off and relaxing. Penny and Kelly are very friendly and accommodating. We ended up staying here to ride out the tropical storm and are so glad we did!

My family and I spent just one night on Vieques, and I can't say enough good things about Penny, Kelly and Seagate. The property is very comfortable and charming. An outstanding getaway from the busy "normal" world. Everything was great. TV channel selection was outstanding. Room was super clean. Beds were very comfortable. A/C worked great. The kitchenette with fridge and microwave were very useful. And above all, the owners truly care about every guest and go above and beyond to be helpful and to accommodate everyone. I definitely want to come back here at some point !

Penny was awesome. From checkin to checkout, she was so helpful. She has so much knowledge about the Island and guided us every day. Horse ride at this hotel is a must. Ruben the horse guide is very sweet and you get to ride along the beach.

My son and I had the most amazing vacation staying at Penny and Kelly’s beautiful property. My little dog was eager to run straight to the office first thing in the morning to visit Penny for some love and I enjoyed starting the day chatting with Penny while grabbing included breakfast. Their love for sharing their property with guests and ensuring that their time on the island is a memorable and fun experience is felt the moment you step through the gate. Wonderful recommendations and information for activities and they were very helpful with ensuring that navigating transportation to and from the main island goes well. They had beach gear available to borrow which is such a nice amenity to provide. The dipping pool was so perfect and lovely and views of the big blue was Devine. We loved visiting with the horses who are obviously loved and cared for and happy. The room was perfect, nicely decorated, cozy and relaxing, and we enjoyed having a small kitchen with all the basics that you need. Lovely shower, super comfortable beds, the right amount of places for luggage and I actually hung up my clothes and the shelves which I never usually do at hotels lol! Easy and safe walk to town and even my 14 year old felt comfortable to walk down on his own to get donuts at the food cart and bring them back. Penny made sure to draw the way on the map. Relaxing on the deck enjoying the view and reading a book in the hammock or outdoor bed was the perfect vacation! Hope to return!

An island gem. Our stay was incredibly restful. The area is peaceful and safe. Rooms are super clean with plenty of amenities. The night sounds of the island forest are lulling. Cannot say enough. Highly recommended!

Important to know that the office is not staffed unless they are expecting an arrival. We had a miscommunication initially where we didn't know what time we would be arriving and the owner was waiting there for us. I felt badly that they were waiting for us but they didn't communicate that to me until after the fact. The property is very pretty. Off the beaten path a little, but still walkable to town for food and shopping. Lots of animals around, so if you don't like horse/rooster/frog noises and/or smells, this isn't the place for you. You have to walk up and down some short steep hills within the property, so might not be great for those with physical limitations. The room was dark but cozy. Had a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The bathroom had an interesting situation with the toilet paper being hung above and behind the toilet from a stick, which made it impossible to reach. The toilet seat was broken, presumably from people trying to turn around to reach the paper. The view from the room was stunning and I loved the ambient sounds of the property. Breakfast was served each day and consisted of several plates of fresh fruit, breads, small cereal boxes, and coffee.

Penny was so friendly and kind. She made us feel at home. The property was really quaint and the views were beautiful. Both Penny and Kelly were great with our 13 year old daughter. They showed her the animals and gave her a tour of where to see the geckos and Iguanas.

We really enjoyed the Sea Gate Hotel. We did not stay in the main section but had a suite with a kitchen. The check in with Penny could not have been more helpful. She is great. While everything was clean in our suite, because of the nature of the island there were tiny bugs maybe ants. They were sooo tiny but present. There was spray available in the suite both for the bugs and for people to avoid mosquitoes. Penny made great suggestions of places to snorkel. When we asked for a later checkout they allowed it graciously. I would stay again!

We had a fantastic time. The owners were super helpful, they told us all the great spots and how to get there. The room we stayed in may have the best view on the island. The property itself is one of a kind, if you're looking for a unique stay with wonderful staff, this is it.

The units are comfortable and cozy, but there were some bugs to contend with, probably due to the rain. Miner repairs are needed, like a new toilet seat in unit 8. There is a coffee pot but no coffee. The path to the office and units is a bit steep. The owner was friendly and put out some breakfast items and offered free water during our stay. Overall we enjoyed the cozy feel to the units and the close proximity to town.

We absolutely LOVED out stay at the Sea Gate Hotel! We stayed for 3 nights and it was so pleasant! The grounds of this family founded and operated boutique hotel are full of beautiful gardens and a nice little dipping pool and a sun deck. There are roosters near the horses nearby. (roosters are everywhere in PR) We used a white noise app on our phones and were fine. :) Our space was so comfortable, we really liked chatting with the ladies running the place. We rented a golf cart, parking was super easy in front of the hotel, and explored the island before seeing bioluminescence. I literally can't say enough positive about our stay here!!! We'll look to book here again when we come back to the island in the future! Thank you both so much!!! :)

Great accommodation. The unit (#6 on the top floor) was spacious and well-equipped. The owner Penny went out of her way to make our two-night stay extra enjoyable. She offered beach towels and snorkels/masks, in addition to providing a special breakfast (prepared the night before), as we needed to leave at 5 am. Highly recommend this small, cosy hotel.
