The Novotel Kamala has a great beach (Beach #1). Easy to walk to restaurants. Twins restaurant on the beach has an awesome seafood glass noodle salad. Cafe Del Mar has changed. They fenced off the whole operation so no beach access. Only via the front street entry where you’re subject to search and wristbands. No thanks. Instead had dinner one night at Shimmer. It’s part of montezure hotel. Awesome sunset view with dinner. Expensive for Thailand. 4,400 baht for two. Unfortunately, when got back to room, got sick and pucked dinner. 3 weeks in Thailand, never had problems with delicious Thai food. The blue crab yellow curry ended up in the toilet and on the floor.

The hotel location was just what we wanted. It wasn't crowded and we pretty much have the beach to ourselves most days. The bed were comfortable but the pillows were really lumpy. They needed to update those. The pool was in the smaller size but as we were there in the off season, it didnt pose too many issues. The beach being so close made it okay. Some of the lounger needed to be updated as it was sagging and found the bar across was digging into our back, unless you have rolled up a few towels. Staff were really lovely and attentive. Food was lovely most of the time but there days that food was too salty. I ordered Spaghetti and Pad Krapao and they were very salty. I loved the sticky rice and mango and my kids loved the club sandwich. I wish the menu hada bit more options for Thai food. Breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options but only offered full cream milk for coffee. If you are lactose intolerant, you will need to provide your own milk. Overall, I was happy with the hotel and staff. I would go back again for sure.

The good: amazing view from the pool and ocean front rooms. Quiet end of the beach The bad: full of Russians that act like they own the place, hotel is constructed in materials that cant handle humidity so it is literally falling apart, the beds are extremely uncomfortable, and there is generally a lot of noise from the rooftop bar. We also ordered cocktails at the poolbar that didnt have alcohol in them. Also be aware that some of the oceanfront rooms are a little back from the beach and dont have sunset views. I would have been livid if we had had one of those. Staff at frontdesk were nice and helpful

I didn’t like that you couldn’t charge my room for my laundry or ride to the airport without having a deposit. Make things easier. I did like your temporary gym. You staff opened it up early each day for me.

This hotel is everything you want in Phuket. We were upgraded to a villa with a private pool and I am certain next time we come back (we will!) that is what I will reserve. The beach is wonderful, there are many options of local restaurants and bars you can walk to form here- but if you want to stay, the hotel also offers very good food. The staff is very friendly and eager to help, the gym is very well equipped and while we didn’t use the pool (we had our own pool), the view and ambiance from the pool was great too. Great location, I recommend the surfing lessons, and while the area is alive wharves many people waking in the beach, it’s still quiet and relaxing. Definitely the best place to stay in Phuket.

The best part of this Hotel is the location, Kamala beach is so beautiful and full of dining options. The service provided by the Hotel staff is excellent and fast, however the hotel facilities need maintenance, it starting to look old and some areas smells like mold.

Great property and place to stay while in Kamala beach would say it’s the best value to luxury living in the area even at the most affordable room in the hotel. Staff are very friendly and the cleanliness is great. Room service is fast and they do a great job making up your room on request.

I expected more to this hotel. It was bad maintained, everywhere you looked you saw dirt walls, rost etc. Room was quite ok tho. 9am i put sign on to clean my room. 3pm i came back, room was uncleaned. I needed to inform house keeper. They should maintain this hotel little better, to be the novotel class. Now its like 20e/night hotel

The hotel was very outdated and dirty. We didnt sleep comfortably as it was very itchy to sleep on the bed during the first night (We suspected it was dust-mite) We asked the hotel to change the bedsheet and the second night was okay. The kids club was dirty and really rundown as well. A lot of mosquito and ants in the kids club. Also the overall facility was dirty and outdated. The staffs were the best part as they were helpful and friendly. However the front staffs requested as to pay for the room on spot (the room was paid on hotels.com prior to the arrival) and it took us ~20 mins to explain and show them the payment receipts ...etc. Also two groups of guests checked in at the same time with us and both got upgraded as they booked directly with the hotel. We were told that they do not upgraded bookings made via third party.
