Can’t believe I forgot your name, front desk gal, but thank you so much for helping me with so many things this phone included. I really enjoyed my stay and particularly being able to walk out my door and walk to so many things. my bed was so comfy and I had the best sleep I appreciate you getting me the downstairs room I also wanted to compliment you on your bathroom toiletries. some of the nicest I’ve experienced. I will be sure to stay here again

A very nice, rustic old west hotel - spacious rooms, old fashioned tub and shower, decor was westernish. Area itself is great, safe at night, convenient shopping and dining. Only negative was that there was insufficient staff to have coverage so we were left with key to lock hotel when we came and went - lock was tricky to operate. if they can address their staffing issues this is a great place to stay, i just don't like being responsible for locking up their business - this is not a camping cabin in the woods, its a hotel and there are other guests, etc.

Great location! Hotel staff was proper.
No elevator, thank goodness we got a room on the second floor. Parking was a big challenge.

This property is in a perfect location. The rooms are small and it was tight for our family of four but would be perfect for a couple.

Simple, nice, convenient property. Clean. Room needs updates. Fullnlength mirror, lighted bathroom mirror, toilet that flushes better

Love the charming history of the building and the rooms itself. Unfortunately, the bed was not as comfortable as I was hoping.

Nice old hotel. Right on the square.
No elevator so good exercise going to the room

Loved the quaint, rustic-esque style. We climbed the stairs to the top floor because there's no elevator, but considering all the great food we ate, we needed that..lol! Totally adore u Heidi at the front💜this hotel is perfectly located in the center of EVERYTHING quaint&delicious..

I liked it. It was very clean.

Older people had to carry bags upstairs..no elevator. No a/c. Great historic charm...close to everything. Bed very comfortable...quiet and clean

Nice older, but updated hotel on the square. Affordable for the area. On street parking only.

If you’re looking for modern, state of the art amenities this is not the place for you. But it was perfect for our one night stay. Nothing large or fancy about our particular room but it was clean and very comfortable. This was a second stay for us…we will surely stay again. I LOVE how the nostalgia of this hotel has been maintained. Location is excellent for access to anything in the square and/or walking to nearby establishments. And, The Girl & The Fig Restaurant is right next door!.
3.0
Older structure that is in need of some updating. Older persons may find climbing in and out of clawfoot tub difficult if not dangerous. AC may or may not work in hotter months and double windows might be hard to open or closed. Corner rooms above street corner noisy as are creaking floors
2.5
Historic hotel so rooms are smaller. Best location on Sonoma square. Two great restaurants within steps

We had an overall lovely stay at the Sonoma Hotel. You can't do any better than this location for access to things around Sonoma Square. Free parking is plentiful nearby. The place has a very historic charm to it (keys! Actual keys to your room!). And while the rooms are small, you have everything you need.
As others have mentioned, the noise is an issue. I'm not sure I would stay on the second floor again, given the opportunity for noise below you and above you. Every step the person above you takes is bothersome because, as others have said, the floors are old and creaky and it's not subtle noise. The doors are very thin, and each floor has a small common area where housekeeping does its thing and where people come and go, all of which can be heard quite clearly. We stayed in Room 27, overlooking the corner of 1st & Spain. That room is also next to the only set of stairs where people access their rooms. We had no issue at all with road noise, but there was a lot of noise from hotel guests. Perhaps the other rooms had better luck, but I doubt it, given that the others would be over the restaurant, which I imagine to be noisy in its own ways. Earplugs and white noise apps were a necessity for sleep here.
In short: I WOULD stay here again, but not on the second floor, and maybe not in the rooms that are adjacent to the staircase, given the tools we have to manage the issues of general noise.

Quaint, old Sonoma charm. Friendly staff.
2.0
Great location, friendly staff and rustic rooms made for a fun stay. Only downside was the walls are somewhat thin so noise from the other rooms (especially the shower) was a bit loud.

This is a lovely vintage hotel in downtown Sonoma. Absolutely beautiful and terrific staff. Highly recommend!
People with mobility issues, be advised that there is no elevator and a lot of stairs to the upper rooms.
1.5
Convenient location to the town square, restaurants and wineries. A bit noisy as it’s on the corner. Bed mattress needs rotation from head to toe so one’s head is not slanted at a negative grade.

There was no hot water, apparently, the water heater is old and after a few people take a shower there is no hot water for a couple of hours!
We did not stay the night and went somewhere with hot water around 8 pm.
The front desk told us to leave the water running, and we did so for around 30 mins it did not help and she said there is nothing she can do!

Nice old-school hotel well located on the corner of Sonoma Square. The room was Surprisingly quiet at night given the location. Not modern -- more of a throwback to a prior era of hotels. I kinda liked that.

Very quiet and comfortable. No elevator I saw so had to lift luggage up the stairs but I didn’t find that was difficult. Worth it for the hotel and location.

Old but charming. Outside noise is very noticeable. Incredible location on the Sonoma square. Restaurant choices are varied

The property is not ADA compliant.

Very small rooms but somewhat expected at historic buildings. The main issue is my wife is disabled and we were given a 3rd floor room, very steep stairs. She had a very tough time of it.

Great historic property. Check in staff was friendly, and the coffee in the lobby was a nice touch. Comfortable, well-appointed rooms. Downside is that the walls are very thin, and there was a couple that talked loudly in their room until 2 am which we could hear as though they were in our room with us. I would suggest you pack a sound machine or ear plugs for your stay. Otherwise, we really enjoyed this hotel.
3.0
The corner room had no heat and the bed was too small for a 5'10" person to stretch out in. I needed to sleep with my socks on to mitigate cold nights and get a comfortable night sleep.
