Very comfy-close to everything and professional courteous staff. Nice shared kitchenettes on both floors-no lift though.

I am not recommending to stay here who wants cleanness and sleep well.

Great stay in a great city. The tourist tax should be mentioned before booking, but everything else was great.

They let me check in early but was impossible to checkout after I saw what I had gotten myself into. The Upside was that I had a 9 bunk bed unit all to myself, no windows and just very creepy dark place right by the staff entrance, laundry, and late night guest access which meant no chance of sleep, expect to get the door knocked on late at nights by somebody who has had one too many and doesn't know where to go (in one instance a staff member just barging in assuming room was empty and perhaps going to crash there). Surrounding area was beautiful to walk to. My reservation was for more than two weeks but I could only bare one night, at this stage I don't even know if I got refunded for anything but it was more confrontable sleeping in the train station the following night until I found something else. Maybe the more expensive units are better but I was not prepared to find out, very terrible costumer service after they had taken my money, spent weeks trying to get some sort of refund back after front desk had promised to refund my credit card in accordance to their policy of 48 hrs notice which meant I would only pay for two nights. after checking out and getting in contact to access the funds the only option they gave me was a gift card to go back to the same place, just a waste, might as well slapped me too. Just terrible, spend a little more and have a nice time in the lovely area or just sleep in the train station as I promise it will be more comfortable.

Tiny uncomfortable beds. Tiny room. Glass door lets annoying hall light inside room all night long. Noisy. Impossible to fall asleep.

Booked a suit for one night in order to visit this beautiful city. Desk staff were delightful although they did initially give us the key to someone else’s room! Our suit was large, ornate and spacious but at the end of the building next to the busy main road, there was no A/C so one must choose between noise with windows open or a hot stuffy room. Furthermore, there was no wardrobe, only a curtain between the room and toilet, very dim lighting in the bathroom, faulty lighting above the mirror and thick hard pillows, they also charge for the use of an iron!!

The refrigerator need to be cleaning every week maximum. It is full of old food that people have left there. A lot of food is in the frig with moisture. You have to find a system to make sure that the food will stay save. Your refrigerator was really bad. But the rest of the hostel was clean. The problem is really the refrigerator.

Very kind and responsible personnel and great area to stay in Alkmaar

The property itself is a nice building, centrally located and staff helpful. However, the shared, 4 bed dorm room I was in, was pretty depression. There was no window or any real natural light or ventilation (apart from a grate in the door). The room was very stuffy & dark as a result. The beds were very basic too, with a hard plastic mattress. The shower was also a bit of a dribble at most, which made showering properly tricky & the lack ventilation meant the whole bedroom became humid if someone showered. The rooms smelled on human odours and sweat as a result of the stuffiness. It’s pretty claustrophobic room set-up. Not a fan of this place, but there are very few other places to go in the city for affordable prices.

Very well organised facility,clean, close to everything you need, 13 mins walk from the central train station. There is kitchenette(fridge , microwave and sink) No boiler , no cutlery. Sheets are provided, towels are not. Staff are really friendly and helpful . There is a bar and restaurant attached the hostel, The internet speed is good for remote workers

This hostel is just amazing in all ways. Clean, neat, well designed, close to the centre, helpful staff, good internet shows which can help in working ( up to 14 mbs)

After check-in property assigned a room and bed . The reception was open until 9pm and I was in after dinner and discover that the bed was taken by someone else . Tried to contact the emergency number they just didn’t answer call and msg . Was a robbery done by unprofessional people . To avoid

I recommend parking at De Kwakel its only 3€ a day and a 10 minute footwalk away. The Hostel was great ,with very friendly dutch and english speaking staff. The only downside was that, at least in our room without windows, there were slits in the door to provide air ventilation (we've also got a fan so it was never too hot in the room). This leads to you hearing everything thats going on in the hallway and everyone in the hallway can hear what's going on in your room. There was also a frosted glass window next to the door which you are not able to cover, therefore there's alway some light coming into you room, so bring your sleep masks if that bothers you. But other than these 2 things, which i am willing to forgive for that room price, its a very good choice if you are on a budget. Its close to the city center and has a busstop 200m away. The restaurant was also very good, expensive but still a bit cheaper than many restaurants in the city center.

The service and the staff were great. I would recommend Kings Inn City Hostel to any of my friends that are traveling. It might be a little distance from Amsterdam but its well worth the trip. And you get the chance to visit the beautiful city of Alkmaar.

I booked on Hotels.com and it said it was 2 x single rooms and when I arrived it was 2 x rooms in an 8 bed dorm!! However the staff, location, cleanliness and everything else was excellent. If you want a good nights rest this is not for you. If you want to party this is for you.

It was cool, I've no real complaints or anything negative to say. I personally felt that it was very authentically european, Their were a few drunks and college kids causing a ruckus around the neighborhood at night, probably because they're close to the red light district, but you can't fault for that. Other then that I still had a pleasant time.
