The hotel is located right at the waterfront which makes it good for a walk or just chilling outside. There is a mall nearby where you can find all kinds of shops at daytime. In the evening it is more of a quite neighbourhood. The hotel itself has pros and cons. The room is rather small and we didn’t really manage to find enough space for 2 bags. The furniture is very basic and the bathroom could get some repairs. Overall I felt like the room didn’t really match with mercure standards. Personell was overall very kind and helpful. Eventhough we didn’t feel very welcome upon check in when we asked for an early check in and the manager told us to wait for our room to be available if we want one with seaview. He also tried to sell us another night with a „discount“ for the last 4 hours to the check in time which endet up much more expensive than our booking was. After declining his several attempts to sell the breakfast he took our phone number and told us to send a message once the room will be available. Long after the official check in time we had never received any messages but got into our room, which was to the garden and had no sea view at all. Overall I think that was like the worst check in experience and more like a bazaar than a professional hotel. Overall it was ok, compared to a budget stay.

It is very far from a 4 star rating for the hotel. There is no gym at all even though it says there is. The rooms are very small! The service is very disrespectful. The carpet was so wet...from the AC.

It's a very good hotel. The room was quite small but the bed was very comfortable and everything was clean, with an excellent daily service. The staff are amazing, friendly, polite, helpful. Good location right opposite the Rambla.

The staff were excellent, accommodating our limited Spanish and ensuring we had all the help and assistance we needed. Breakfast was more than adequate and staff friendly. The rooms were small especially for travellers with 2 suitcases, however we were aware of this and did not plan to spend much time in the room. Great location - opposite the Rio Plata and directly on las rambla. 5 minute up hill stroll to large shopping mall and local and tourist buses. Only one thing slightly let it down was the room had a very stale smell and the under pillows needed to be changed. We loved Montevideo and would not hesitate to stay here again

The room I had was 1103. The bathroom was clean and the hot water good. Cleaning of room next day good. My only complaint was the carpet had a bad mold smell. We walked into the room around 1am after a whole day of travel and was overtaken by the smell. For the sake of your future guests replace the carpet for tile. The staff was nice so I was nice.

The service was kind but the hotel lacks a lot of things I would expect - Details like bottle openers and lack of attention to detail of the cleaning staff. Good area and nice view but hotel is quite small and doesn't have a restaurant or bar. Manager was helpful to redress issues

Very nice hotel! The room and bathroom are small but very comfortable and have the right amenities. The only thing that I didn’t like was the breakfast as it was a very small continental breakfast. Aside from that, everything was great! Would stay here again.

The hole hotel is small, reception, coffe, rooms and bathroom. Located in a beautifull place near shopping in front at the river. No parking but there is place available to leave the car at nights. Noisy traffic, bad windows. Good brakfast but No sugar free food. Good attention by staff.

If you need to stay in this area (Punta Carretas) this is an excellent choice for a simple, but very clean and convenient hotel. Everything was as advertised, great WiFi, breakfast and a small but clean room & bathroom. Mine had no bathtub, only a shower but that wasn't a problem for me.

The Mercure MVD is fairly new and is well situated in Punta Carretas , Staff on the front desk and the restaurant are very friendly and efficient. Rooms are quite small but fine for a short stay.

Hotel was fine but photos make rooms look larger than they are. I was claustrophobic after spending three weeks in this hotel in such a small room. Staff was kind, Internet speed reasonable and tv had many channels to watch. This is not a vegan friendly hotel.

Reccomended for a quick business trip. Very small rooms but clean and new. The best in my opinion is the location. Punta Carretas is one of the highest end areas in Montevideo. Don't miss La Perdiz Restaurant, it is rated as the top Parrillada in the city and its one and a half blocks away from Mercure.

This was an hotel designed for the corporate market which is apparent when you check in. The hotel is new with only four rooms on my floor. The view from the room was excellent with a view over the estuary and promenade. This included a floodlit football pitch on the sea shore, different but good! The hotel was centrally located near a shopping mall, handy to change money and about 20 minutes from the airport by taxi (900 Uruguayan pesos).Buses left from outside the mall to downtown Montevideo(35 pesos). The room was everything you would expect, large bed with great cotton sheets, walk in shower and cable TV. I watched the football! Breakfast was a help yourself buffet with cooked options for those who wanted them.Choice was good with fresh strawberries but why did you have tinned fruit on offer? On the first floor there is internet available with a lounge which people used for meetings during the day The staff in the breakfast bar and cleaning staff were excellent. The staff on reception were good but you had to ask for information and were a little reluctant to recommend a restaurant. Still they ordered a taxi for me no trouble Yes I would have no hesitation in staying here again
