I really enjoyed my stay at Cutty Sark Efficiencies in Virginia Beach. It is a very nice property, clean, comfortable, cozy, wonderful in every way. The customer service was excellent ! Great people! Ms. Koch Innkeeper, Doug, Jerry, Tammy were extremely helpful and pleasant to interact with. I would definitely stay here again!

Staff very friendly and helpful. Parking is limited but free and manageable. Rooms are quaint but a bit dated. Water pressure was fair and bed was too soft for my tastes but not a big deal. Location is perfect- close to beach, a Dunkin Donuts and Mellow Mushroom- what more could you ask for?

Love the retro look. The vintage kitchenette unit was cute. Block from the beach and easy walking distance to attractions.

Location really good, but everything needs updating!

Interesting retro style room ... Clean with strong hot shower. Only stayed the night, but kitchenette diningware helped us eat our takeout, and cooking is possible if you're staying a while.
Only downer is it wasn't quite oceanview. The beach and ocean could be seen from our balcony, but sunrise required a 2 minute walk down the stairs and across the street around the condo building blocking the sun.

The room was clean but there was a loud noise coming from a fan on the wall every time the wind blowed and the ac didnt work and had to use box fan also no elevator

Hotels.com left my son & I without a reservation b/c they didn't tell us the hotel wasn't fully confirmed. We ended up without a place to stay. Worst experience of my life. Hotels.com is the WORST!!!

Enjoyed our stay here. Plenty of close by shopping, and eateries. The room itself was nice, clean, and comfortable once we got the bed replaced. Christine(?) in the front office was extremely helpful and pleasant to interact with.
Would consider staying here again!

Roaches. infested with Roaches. A/C is weak at best. floor was wet and sticky on check in. wi-fi does not work properly.

The room was old and outdated, not to much of a problem for us. But, when I checked the beds they were infested with ANTS! Guy at the front desk was nice and refunded us right away with no issues, but I wouldn't stay there again.

Not luxurious but with great location and access. this time, I could not figure out how to turn on the AC, as the thermostat only accessed the heat. The TV situation is also a bit quirky. The Cutty Sark is quaint and unique and I like it, but hope they can keep up with a few things.

Laid back, quiet, relaxing. Clean room. Just a short walk from beach. Highly recommend if you wanna save a little money

Best thing is proximity to beach but rooms are terrible, poor value for money and there is no see view to speak of

The pool was small and looked cloudy. I didn’t feel comfortable there and was told by one of the staff the room was too small for me to have company over. Than the safe member explained the hotel room was just for sleeping. The bathtub didn’t drain even after several attempts to be fix. There was mold in the bathroom. We called ahead and said we were smokers, we were informed that our room didn’t have a balcony but was told we could smoke outside of our room. We did smoke outside of our room than was told people who walked by complained that they didn’t let walking by and we were never offered a balcony room .

It was affordable, across the street from the beach and had a kitchen so I could cook

Way too noisy from jets flying over until 11:30 pm the first night. People walking by talking and laughing until after 1:00 am the next two nights- Friday and Saturday. On Saturday night a parade of jazzed up pickups drove right by after midnight. Bathroom sink was clogged and drained very slowly. Only 7 parking spaces behind building. Old run down place. Awful.

The staff is wonderful. Very accommodating. Location is good. Even though it’s across the street and not oceanfront, you can still see the ocean from between buildings from your balcony.

The rooms are clean and have small kitchenettes and the beds are super comfy. U get charge if u have more then 2 people ,I dont like how u lock ur door it's with house key u have to slam the door to make sure its shut ,the kitchen is back in the 40 ,the tub dow t drain and the front office open at 10 am to 5 PM

Great experience for the price! The efficiency unit had everything we needed; a small kitchen w/ dishes, coffee maker, fridge, microwave, etc. The balcony that overlooks the water was the best part! We stayed out there for hours watching the waves. Even though you are across the street from the beach, you still have unobstructed views of the water. Awesome value for the price and proximity to the beach!
