My experience at the Bay Inn was nothing short of fantastic. For a budget motel the cleanliness rivaled 3-4 star hotels. And probably surpassed them, all thanks to the owners, Nick and Brenda who have pride in ownership. They are friendly, personable, and caring. I was visiting family and knowing they were a few doors away gave a sense of safety. Nick, this is my go to place when visiting! See you over the summer!

This was certainly far more then I expected. Cleanliness is always Paramount to me and they definitely got an A+. Super easy to check in and check out. Felt safe with a court yard in the middle of the building to sit outside and have coffee or a meal. Fridge microwave, coffee, iron, blow dryer; all the comforts of a regular hotel. Just no ice machine but they even left filled ice tray in freezer. Little room but meet all my needs. My only complaint was the sheer lack of water pressure in the shower. It took forever to take a shower and wash my hair. The beach is only a block away. The motel sits in a quaint quiet neighborhood across the street from gorgeous homes on the beach side. Easy beach access. For the price this was all surely worth it. Part of me hates to leave this review as I would hate for others to find this diamond in the rough and have it booked the next time I want to stay. Fabulous stay.

The property was close to the beach. The property was clean and very updated. Great spacious rooms. One of the owners make it feel almost like camp, rules, strict watching of what you do, it isn’t a friendly environment but enjoyable when you have the beach right there. The room was very clean and enjoyable, the area was nice. Quiet

This is the ONLY PLACE I will stay when I am in the area. No frills, just a nice clean place to rest with a wonderful pair of owners and it’s right across the street from Publix beach access. I will always come back to The Bay Inn. Thank you for being my home away from home ❤️

Quiet and comfortable 1-night stay during business travel.

The Bay Inn in Ocean View is my "go to" lodging choice when visiting family in Norfolk several times a year. This small, well-maintained property is quiet, with all rooms facing onto a grassy courtyard. Rooms are exceptionally clean, free of clutter, with nice amenities (mini-fridge, microwave, task desk with extension cord for electronics, bedside reading lamp). Beach access is just a short stroll away. Ditto for the grocery store. The owner/manager lives on-site, which I think helps to ensure the overall peaceful vibe. Highly recommend. Also, the nearby Doug's Hot Dogs is a wonderful, authentic Ocean View eatery. I love the NC BBQ, home made soups, and local color.

I had to make a trip to the Norfolk area for business. I have always been hesitant on staying down in Ocean View. I can tell you that I really enjoyed my stay here. We will certainly return. So nice and quiet. The owners were very kind and helpful. The bay is right across the street and near area restaurants.

First of all, the room was clean and the bed comfortable. But the furnishings and decor could be described as lacking in warmth (all hard surfaces and sharp corners), which applies to the way I was received by the host when I arrived. My arrival was late (11 pm) after a long day of traveling, but well before the deadline for check-in (12 am). But when I picked up the desk phone (which then rings to call the host) the man who appeared offered no welcome or greeting. Rather he seemed annoyed by my arrival, chiding me for not hanging up the phone soon enough. It was perhaps the coldest reception I've ever had at a hotel or inn.
