This property is really adorable and tranquil. Which makes the fact that our "private" cottage was actually a duplex that much more frustrating. If it had been marketed that way, rather than framing the pics and description to suggest it was a single detached cottage, I would have booked something else. Sadly, two of the "cottages" on the property are actually a single cottage with drywall down the middle. So literally every time the people next door walk on the floor / go to the bathroom / shift in bed, you can hear it. Not so tranquil.

We had a great stay at the Hillside Colorado Cottages. The area, property and cottages are beautiful to explore the countryside. Surrounded by the mountains, the views were amazing. The Property Manager lives on side and is there for any needs 24/7. We will definitely return one day!

My husband, pooch and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hillside Cottages. The cottage was nicely furnished and clean. We will definitely return during the summer/fall season to take in more of the beautiful vistas this part of Colorado has to offer.

This is a beautiful place with gardens and LOTS of hummingbirds!

The duplex housing structure titled Nature's Knack was not the quiet and tucked away cabin as advertised. There was an annoying noise of a motor coming from the other side of the common wall that turned on and off every five minutes all night long. The noise was loud enough to keep us up all night. The surrounding area offers breathtaking natural beauty.

The property was very nice clean and we were mostly pleased. We missed having an oven, and would have liked to have access to more clean towels.

A beautiful, relaxing drive to a wonderful little cottage! After an extremely stressful family trip, I decided to stay here for a quiet night for myself. I drove here from southern New Mexico. It was a long but beautiful ride. Upon my final approach to the cottage, I saw livestock and wildlife. Majestic eagles scattered throughout the area. The cottages were well marked and easy to find. It’s so quiet. Upon entering the cottage, I was greeted with a lovely basket of treats. Attached was a sweet little note from the owners. The cottage has everything you need for a great stay. The kitchenette is well stocked with cookware and microwave and cooktop. The furnishings are beyond charming. Beamed ceilings and wood floors with area rugs just add to the charm. I’m usually very uncomfortable staying somewhere new when traveling alone, not here! I settled right in. The warm quilts on the comfortable bed and the warming throw on the arm chair just add a little something. The morning sun creeping in the windows is just lovely as it rises over the hills. I look forward to coming back here with my special someone and sharing this experience with him!

Cute property but be prepared to not have access to any stores. Bring what you need for your stay. But very comfortable and quiet. If you want to get away this is the place. Very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely cottages, amazing setting by the Sangre de Christo Mountains. It is super quiet and peaceful there, and there were a couple of horses in a pasture behind us. I wish we could have stayed longer.

The flowers in the common areas were spectacular. Also really enjoyed the hammock for viewing the amazing night sky. It really delivered!!

The location was fantastic, the area was super clean with grilles to cook on outside and plenty of space to play with your dog or go for a walk. Very relaxing. Would definitely go back! But be sure to pack some food in, its about 12 miles to the nearest town, Westcliff, for food.

Peaceful, scenic, remote location. Cottage had all the necessary amenities and was quite comfortable.

Adorable cottage! Loved our one night stay - clean, modern, and everything we needed to cook a light meal before turning in. Would be nice if mattresses had a pillow-top or pad - a little firm. Otherwise a beautiful place with gorgeous Mountain Views - the pics didn’t lie!!

Lovely interior design and cabin was warm and area was quiet.

i loved the quality of the structures. i loved the modern look in a location that humans have gathered for probably over a century. the electronic access and operation of our cabin was flawless and easy. We came and went as desired without bothering anyone or being bothered by anyone. we shared the grounds with a herd of deer. the full moon ruined our milkyway veiwing; however, the view of the Sangre De Christos by full moonlight was magical. i will be returning. my son loved the structurally integrated queen-sized bunk beds. it was not only unique, it was comfortable and family friendly. the full sized bathroom was wonderful. kitchen was very efficient and well appointed. Bravo owners!

A great place to get away from it all if that’s what you into

The accommodations were wonderful ! They have thought of everything. If I had any complaint it would be that we stayed in a duplex type of a cottage, so we shared a wall with another couple. We could hear everything they were doing. We were not around much so it wasn't too distracting. We will stay there again...hopefully next summer !!!

Perfect hidden experience.

This was my second time staying here. This time I came with family. They were overjoyed with the accommodations, they said it was even better than I had described! The cottages are immaculately clean and nicely styled, and the area is just breathtakingly gorgeous. Such a magical place!

The cabin was very clean, welcoming and great getaway location. The amenities were spot on or all our needs. The views were beautiful and the cabins just fit wonderfully into the valley to see the mountains.

The Splendid Vista Cottage was a wonderful place to getaway from the city and enjoy our anniversary with no cell phone service, wi-fi, traffic nor street lights we were able to enjoy the peace and quiet, dark skies and amazing mountain views together in this very romantic setting. With no restaurants nearby we enjoyed planning intimate meals togethers, watching the horses, birds, deer and other creatures out the window. The cottage gives you all the modern amenities with the views you might enjoy during a camping trip. During our stay we road and dined on the nearby Royal Gorge Railroad where the views were incredible. We also took a drive up Billy Humble Road toward the reservoir and to Salida to the local Walmart for groceries both of which had unforgettable views. Lastly, although it is hard to top the cottage our visit to Westcliffe and the Smokey Jack Observatory only 12 miles away was unsurpassed and a must do if you can get a reservation on a clear night.

We had a great time staying at hillside cottages. The view is amazing and the cottage was clean and very well decorated. It had everything we needed to relax, cook and enjoy our time in the area. The host was wonderful and very helpful. We would highly recommend staying here and we hope to be back again. Enjoy!!
