Amazing stay once again - very comfortable rooms with excellent shower and great selection of tea, coffee, biscuits etc. Fantastic location, great pub and the free parking is a big bonus.

Stayed for a friends wedding celebration. Breakfasts were really good, quiet at night and slept really well with very comfortable mattress. Didn't mind the wonky floor.. goes with territory of an old building.. only criticism of the room would be the noisy toilet pump!
Staff were very helpful and felt sorry for the poor chef who had to work alone for a while due to staff sickness. Kept his cool and very professional! Thanks to the staff and to the manager who saw us right for the long breakfast delay.. would stay again

Hotel was lovely, food was good. Only real issue was the horrendous noise the water pipes made when we flushed the toilet or showered.

Lovely old pub/hotel, the room was beautiful with the church view, lovely big bed, unfortunately the plumbing is rather noisy

Super place. Very old. Quaint. Fab staff. Wonderful.

The room was clean and modern but quirky built into an extremely old building there were beams and uneven doors and door frames lovely charm.
We also stayed for dinner which was excellent made to feel most welcome straight from arriving by James (ask for his long vodka).
A lovely welcome good food good drink and a comfy bed. Excellent.

The room was ok but beware of the hot water temp as It is far too hot and I still have a sore foot to remind me.

Really amazing, the room and staff were all lovely. The only single thing I would say is to put a warning in the bathroom about the water system because I lots a few years off my life the first time it went off.

Incredible value, great service, friendly staff, comfy bed, couldn't get the hot water running in the morning but didn't detract too much from the stay and a bargain

Fantastic, welcoming staff, everything you could hope for. Good food. Comfortable bed. In spite of being on the main road, quiet. And properly dog-friendly, not just dog-tolerant.

Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Large comfy room. Delicious breakfast. Recommended and would happily stay again.

Crackinggg food, lovely staff, great central location and really lovely room. Only downside for us was that the building being very old meant we could hear all the noise from downstairs whilst in our room. And being at the front of the building meant we had the traffic noise and street lights to contend with as well! So our sleep was a little disturbed, but overall we had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our stay.

Greeted by friendly staff, room was clean with a lovely bathroom and all the amenities, comfy bed. I would avoid the room right over the bar as this was very noisy even after closing time with music and chatting until after midnight. Breakfast was very nice but dinner pretty average.

Enjoyed our stay, lovely staff, good breakfast. Only thing that wasn’t great was the bathroom macerator was so so loud every time the taps or shower was turned on.
Overall though nice hotel to stay!

Ok, I would check out if the property has live music which we found out to our detriment-we had been out all day touring around the area, had dinner out, returned to the hotel to relax, to discover a very very loud rock band started playing in the property ay around 8pm (which we were not told about). The band finished around 1030pm! Also the en suite had glass doors which were partly shaded across the centre not at all fitting for a couple or the 15 century inn interior, I would not book Jakes room.
The saving grace was Jess who served our breakfast a very lovely, smiley and can do anything attitude - deserves a star!

Not a bad place. Did it's job. Area is boring however and actually impossible to get a taxi to where we needed to go. I ended up driving there and not drinking therefore. Breakfast took 40 mins to cook and they were only cooking ours and one other table. And it was lukewarm. But not too bad.

We had a very pleasant 2 Night stay and felt very comfortable. Great place to stay to explore Tenterden

The property was very old and this is what gave it charm and uniqueness. Our room was extremely spacious and situated towards the back of the pub so was very quiet. However as with all old properties there were some niggles - the bathroom/shower was quite small although they had made good use of the space it was difficult to shower properly and maybe it was me but water went everywhere! The toilet was fitted with a macerator and although we were told this at checkin we couldn’t get over how noisy it was and it seemed to have a mind of its own, which made us jump when it decided to go off! I could imagine this would annoy if staying longer ( we had just one night). We ate at the restaurant which was lovely the steak and ale pie was delicious and the cocktails for dessert expresso martinis were very well made! Breakfast in the morning was equally good and a generous portion. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the staff were friendly. My only other gripe is the pub is dog friendly, which having a dog I was naturally pleased with. However upon arrival there was I assume a ‘local’ with a huge Alsatian at the bar and as we walked in it went berserk - luckily the owner was able to hold on but had he not it could have been quite nasty and no one said anything to the owner. I am all for allowing dogs but not if they potentially going to attack other dogs! Plus first impressions count, even other patrons in the pub turned to look!

Lovely pub/hotel in the heart of Tenterden. Wonderful customer service and food served for evening meal and breakfast was excellent.

A very good hotel for our overnight stop. An old characterful building and our room was quite noisy from the bar below and some strange water pump noises in the night but it was great value, with good breakfast options and helpful staff.

Not bad, quiet once pub closed, though bare in mind this is a very old building with thin walls so you hear any movement at night. TV didn't operate continuously kept loosing signal both on aerial and internet catch up.
Food menu not to our taste, limited choice and we prefer more down to earth food, so we ate out at one of the many local eateries. Breakfast hot and fresh with options to set menus.

A lovely pub with very comfortable rooms. Due to the age of the building there are a few steps and wonky floors but that wasn't a problem for us and the rooms are beautifully done. The breakfast was amazing and the free on site parking is a big bonus. Good atmosphere in the pub too.

Cosy pub for overnight stay - great breakfast!

A very comfortable room and bed for our stay. Right in the middle of the town, which has a lot to offer. The food was incredible as was the service from everybody involved.
Remember you are over a pub, so until about midnight you have the hub a bub from below. Enjoy the town or go downstairs and join in with locals instead.

A very welcoming place from arriving having a most Wonderful lunch in the bar before going up to a very clean and warm very well equipped room. Afternoon relaxing before coming down to a nice restaurant for a lovely evening dinner the staff could not of been better all very good food and service was excellent then off to the bar again for evening drinks and live music all of this with my little dog who goes everywhere with me.

This was our third stay at this lovely old pub, the staff are amazing and the food as delicious as ever.
We find the pub warm and welcoming and great that it is dog friendly too.

We have just returned from our overnight stay in two of the beautiful rooms here and I honestly can’t wait to come back.
I picked this hotel due to its location near-by to a hospital appointment, and because it was dog friendly - and I can assure you that Bear was definitely made to feel welcome and thoroughly enjoyed his stay.
I did read the mixed reviews before coming, however we decided to see for ourselves - and we are really glad we did. So firstly yes, the macerator is noisy, I won’t lie, but it’s just one of those things that comes part and parcel of it being an old building. The same can be said about the wonky floors, it’s part of the history and character of the building.
We had two exceptionally clean and spacious rooms, with modern furnishings and beautiful bathrooms. The beds were huge, as was the telly - lovely coffee machine and fresh water on arrival. We did request a kettle and this was provided literally within 5 minutes.
We all slept well and were not interrupted by any noise, it was very peaceful and relaxing.
We are in the restaurant at night and had breakfast there in the morning - I honestly cannot fault it, the food was exceptional and the service was too. A huge shout out to Nancy in particular, very polite and friendly, and extremely knowledgable of the buildings history - she is a credit to your team.
Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to come back, we had a really lovely time, thank you.

A very nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff. A large room within an old coaching Inn added to the atmosphere and provided a quiet comfortable environment.

Our stay at the Woolpack was a lovely experience. The pub is comfortable and quaint as well as the dining room. The evening meal was tasty but feel vegetables should be served with meals such as the pie and mash and not need to be ordered separately. The breakfast was outstanding with granola to start with and then a full english that is one of the best I have ever had. The room was very large, quirky with modern touches in an old building. As we entered it was a wow factor. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very modern with a glass sliding door. The only problem was that there was no handle on the inside of the door to slide it open or shut when in the bathroom. All waste water is through a macerator which is very noisy but you are told about this at check in.The staff were so welcoming, friendly and could not do enough for you. They made our stay an extremely enjoyable one and we would definitely stay here again.
