It was nice.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The property is clean and just a short walk to the bus terminal and downtown Reykjavik. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Decent place for a nights stay. Room was spacious for a solo traveler, like I was. The shower room wasn't the cleanest but also not disgusting. Some metal road fell off from the top of the shower (I think it's where you hang clothes/towel to dry) and smacked me right on top of the head. Decent stay for a night. If I couldn't find another place then I would stay here again.

I chose the guesthouse as a budget option. The welcome from the owner and staff was very friendly, the owner speaks fluent English and is extremely hospitable. It was great having such a well equipped kitchen and dining area, and it really made a difference to be able to have my breakfasts and occasional supper from my own groceries as well as being convenient when I got back late from an all-day bus tour. The common areas and toilets are kept clean. The guesthouse is an easy 10 minute walk with a suitcase from the main BSI bus terminal. To walk up to the big church Hallgrímskirkja is about 10 minutes, and the nearest supermarket that I found is just in front of the church on the shopping street. From there it is an easy 10 minute walk into the centre. Despite what it said on Expedia, there is no TV in the room. There is a TV in the dining room but I didn't use it. I was satisfied with my stay here - my only criticism would be that the towels and bedlinens are extremely tired, actually threadbare, and the pillow was also very lumpy and ancient so you might want to bring your own pillow.

Instructions for checking in was pretty clear although i did struggle a little with the actual key for my room just because i was unfamiliar with that type

'the door very heavy and make a big noise. Hard to open .

Clean, nice rooms at a good price. The outside photo makes it look a bit grim, but the place & the area are lovely. Easily walkable into the town centre. Bus from airport stops almost right outside!!

Good value for money, within walking distance of town.

I had an excellent experience staying here. I came at an odd hour and they were easy to reach and allowed me to leave all of my luggage on the premises while I went out for the day. My room was comfortable and clean; what you’d expect from this price point. The shared bathroom and kitchen area were fine though other guests were sometimes untidy. I ate breakfast the first morning and then went up for a morning cup of tea the second day so I could be around lots of people. They were very kind and helpful. I’m moving to the area for a while and they offered advice and some assistance even after I would leave! I’d recommend this place again and might have my family stay here in the future.

The apartment is small and outdated but it was clean and served the purpose of one night. It was an easy 20 min walk to downtown.

I had the room closest to the front door, on the street side. It is a busy street, so there was a constant noise of traffic. Also, the doors of the rooms close with a loud bang.
The only shared bathroom on my floor was constantly locked, with no noise coming from inside, so I'm assuming it was out of commission. The bathroom I tried in de basement was old and beaten and in need of fixing up. The knob for selecting temperature was stuck on hot and the only space for placing clothes was a questionable set of unfinished wooden shelving.
The mattresses were not the best, the linnens were tattered and stained and the pillow provided little support and was extremely lumpy.
During my stay, I had no interaction with any staff (never encountered anyone), so can't speak to their level of service. Also did not see the kitchen, so no information on that either.
The rooms require a passcode and without providing any details here, I would consider the method of distribution of those codes insecure. I would suggest changing that to a more personal approach.

I chose this accommodation mainly becoz of its short distance to the BSI Bus Terminal. The room does not locate at their described building but within 2-3mins walk towards the actual location. Staff gave me clear direction on where to go tho, that was very good. The room is comparatively spacious. The shared bathroom is very tidy. Just hope there’s coffee supply and more newer cooking utensils in the shared kitchen.

Sheets were like sandpaper, bathroom was flooded and everything smelled of rancid mold. Pictures shown online do not represent every room in this dump. I had room 501 and it took me an hour to find it after instructions at the address let me into a house that did not have my room. The basement room in an old rundown house down another street and around the block was what they call the “annex”
I did not use the shower because it flooded into the whole room and the floor was a swamp. Did not sleep because it was on a busy street with buses and cars zooming by at all hours. I felt like I was sleeping g in the street.
Terrible experience

There was some confusion at first because the room booked is located in a different building and the alternative room assigned has been occupied by another group. The instruction email somehow has gone to an email address that is different from the email used to book the stay. Once all these confusions were sorted out, it was all good. The room is clean and the common area has cooking area that suits the need well Thanks to the owner for all the help in the last night in Iceland.

Despite small common areas, the guesthouse is cozy and you can socialize with other travellers during breakfast or snack time. It helps that rooms have sinks, otherwise the wait for shared bathrooms could be a bit long. It's not the most centrally located, but still walking distance to a couple of museums and a swimming pool.

This place closed to the restaurants. I can walk around downtown easily

Good location, easy parking. We didn't get check-in instructions and that made me anxious but we were able to communicate and get in.

I am now a fan of guesthouses. It was a very informal stay. I don’t like to share bathrooms but it really was not a big deal. Magdalena was great!

Door handle broken, only one electrical plug near by sink

I didn’t realize that this property is a self check-in/out. Rooms were cozy, but could use an extra pillow. It’s quiet. It’s a shared bathroom with the same floor, which is okay. I did find some bugs under the bed.

Very nice family run guesthouse. The staff is very helpful and helped me with an issue I had. Will certainly come back when I will be in Reykjavík

Great stay! Quiet, clean, comfortable. Easy to reach by foot from city center, BSI (bus terminal) and for bus stop no. 55 from and to airport. Coffee and tea for guests, shared kitchen/fridge and breakfast available for 5€.

The location in the city of reykjavik is great. The host was friendly and easy to communicate with. The shower was nice but the room its in is in bad shape. The window doesnt close all the way and its freezing. Also it kind of smells like mold or something. Just a off putting smell. Same with the fridge. The light in the bathroom is a motion light and turns off with in seconds of no movement. The beep from the people typing in there door entry code is loud, and there is no quiet way of shutting the door. The place isnt bad if your willing to sacrifice a little comfort. I didnt mind my stay, but I certainly had some things I didnt like about it. Had a fridge and freezer with a full kitchen.

Had a double room as a solo traveler and a shared hall bathroom. Sink in the dorm. Bedding was clean and room was fine for the price. The real value was being a 10 min walk from the big church and about 15 min walk from the Harpa (downtown Reykjavik). Other key bus stops were close as well. I would absolutely stay here again

Very old room . Dirty pillow very old and with holes in the lining . The shared toilet was terrible very old and dirty. Terrible experience we move out after one night . It was terrible they sent us to another building with not parking space. Very dodgy neighbourhood. The furnitures very old with humidity not even decent to stay the night. Terrible experience we booked for 4 days and we spoke with the owner about all this problems. They didnt care about it .
4.0
We took around an hour plus to find the building and room. Though there is instruction but not really clear and to our suprised the accommodation is worn off and dirty. They gave us like a basement old unit. Kitchen utensils are not clean as well! The whole place looks very run down. Bedsheets, linen is terrible. The bathroom is always wet, no divider between the toilet and shower. We also park our car at a distance as the parking is quite limited. If i knew it’s such a bad experience, would rather pay slightly more for others. Really a lousy stay at Reykjavik!
