The stay at the apartment was in general terms good. However a few points to note: 1. The bath / shower arrangements are crazy. The shower head is handheld and the room behind the bed is wallpapered and not fit for being used as a shower area. Change the room to a wet room . 2. The kitchen worktops are tired and starting to split. Needs to be replaced. Despite that, it is a great central location, however can be a little noisy when the bars etc empty, but not too bad. Bed was comfy and plenty space for 2 persons in the apartment. The lift can be a bit of a lottery as to whether it was working to all floors or not.

Please be careful. First of all, I was worried because they were slow to respond to my inquiries and did not understand what I was saying. Also, as other people have said in their reviews, I was unable to go due to an unfortunate accident, so I asked for a partial refund or to change the date, but they refused.

Wonderful stay with my 16 year old son. Situated on a quiet street its within 5 mins of the Cathedral and other landmarks. The apartment was spacious and clean, comfortable beds and AC was a godsend! Staff provided clear instructions on access, confirmed mid-stay clean and were very responsive in sorting out a minor issue.

Negatives: tub no shower, sink wall and toilet in different rooms in the barrakas Getting into property was awkward and unwelcome after an early morning plane ride. Cleaning person came by and that got us in to drop bags - for they have only some room. The towels were minimal and not very soft. The bedroom is open to the living and kitchen. Good points: terrific location, staff (once there) were excellent and adaptable. Great dining all around. Pedestrian area but near where one can get a car. For long stays the well appointed kitchen could be convenient and money saving. Good value for the money. *** A purely maintenance issue: the toilet would not stop flushing at times. The door was hard to open.

Communication throughout the stay was great. We were given the code to store our bags in the locked storage room when we arrived in the morning. Once the room was ready, we were notified. The location can not be better. It was a short walk to anywhere in Valletta. The room was quiet, great water pressure and hot water in the shower, large refrigerator in the kitchen, and good WiFi. We would stay here again when visiting Malta.

The photos show a very interesting interior which was the draw. However, on entry the first lift got stuck between floors, the second lift was not at ground level so one has to lug suitcases up a flight of stairs to get to the lift. Both lifts (elevators) are very small, as is the entrance to the building. Not easy to maneuver for older folk, larger folk or folk with large luggage. The water in our unit on the 5th floor was cold, probably because the toilet was draining the tank. The building liaison person was not very helpful to begin with, however, after complaining, she did offer us a move to a larger suite on the first floor and also a complimentary breakfast. We took the move, although we had to do that ourselves as there is no management on the property. We were leaving the next morning so could not take advantage of the free breakfast. The location of the B & B is right in the busy tourist section of Valletta, and can be noisy when the cruise ship tourists come in. It is convenient for the bus terminal, and central for walking about. Lots of cafes, bars and shops are close at hand. The interiors are stunning but the property is not for everyone.

Fabulous apartment in a great central location. Bells chiming from a clock in the square at every quarter hour was initially intrusive for sleep but we got used to it. Comfortable bed and plenty of dishwashing liquid as there is no dishwasher. Basic supplies for drinks but for 6 nights stay I was surprised that we only got 2 sachets of instant coffee and 2 sachets of cappuccino and 2 teabags. Fortunately the kind maid supplied fresh towels to change partway through the week and it isn’t far to go to the grocery for buying more coffee although it would have been more hospitable to provide alittle more for stays of 6 nights. The host seemed to have thought she had communicated to us through WhatsApp but sadly there was no message so we ended up trying to ring and text standing outside the apartment wondering how to get into the building ( a small negative start to our stay in Valletta)

The property was clean and tidy with a working lift. Super comfy beds. The air conditioning was a dream. There is everything in the apartment should you wish to cook. The only issue we had is that we didn’t have an access code to get into the property and didn’t know how to contact the owner. I think it would have been better to receive an email with instructions prior to arrival. Just to note, there is a buzzer on the main door which links you to the owner but it took us a while to work this out. On the whole a nice apartment right in the midst of all the action.

Water leaked through the ceiling from upstairs through an electric light which seemed dangerous not to mention the possibility it was sewage. The management was dismissive saying it happened all the time!

Ideal location in a unique historical setting. The local transport system to the rest of the island was only a few minutes walk away. Access into the appartment is difficult if your mobility is impaired or you have oversized luggage. We stayed a week and had a wonderful time!

Great apartment in the heart of Valletta old town. Nicely decorated, and kitted out with modern fittings. Good sized bedroom with comfy bed, and big TV and sofa. Kitchen & dining area has enough equipment to self-cater if that’s your thing - although you’d be missing out on the many good restaurants that are within walking distance. Nice bathroom too. Our contact there, Kelly, was very helpful!

I was in room no. 8. The standard of cleanliness could be improved because towels and bed linen were not perfect. The bed sheet was stained and with holes, I did flag that to Virginia who took pictures.The biggest problem for me was the noise coming from the church in front of the property whose bells ring every 15 minutes - also at night. I had earplugs but it did not really help. While this is not the property's fault, I'd recommend being upfront of this issue so guests can decide whether they want to disregard the noise or book somewhere else. I changed hotel after 2 nights and expedia refunded me of unused nights.

The hotel was in an excellent location. No more than 10 minute walk to anywhere in Valletta. The apartment had a nice kitchen so we were able to eat breakfast in and conserve funds for dinner. One word of caution..we had a bathtub only & if someone is mobility limited, this could be a problem.

Lovely spacious place, in the perfect location, with friendly staff. Unfortunately I have to mention that on one night it was extremely noisy from the street. Keeping us awake most of the night into the morning hours. That said, it sounded like a bunch of young people in the mood for a good time, so this might have been an isolated incident.

If we went back to Valletta, we would definitely use Boutique Apartments again. The apartment was comfortable and great air-conditioning. It had everything you needed in the kitchen, added extra was a washing machine, iron and ironing board. Our apartment was ideal and central, couldn't have asked for more. They are designed kind of querky, which we loved. Couldn't fault it really. Virginia our host was amazing, she was so helpful for any queries we had. I would definitely recommend booking with them
