For the resort-feel that you'd expect, it just did not live up. Check in was at 4, we showed up at 5. We had to another hour (2 hours past check-in time) for the room because of them being behind on cleaning. The TV in our room was broken when we entered and when we called the inform them, they just put it in their file and did nothing to offer switching our rooms, compensation, or anything else. The Chophouse restaurant was good and they did do a good job making us feel welcomed being our anniversary trip, however there was a lot of waiting around during our meal. They delivered our bread without butter, which showed up 10 minutes later. We waited 15 or more minutes for the table-side salad to come by and be made. By the time the table-side salad was made, we had to wait over 5 minutes for the other salad to show up. By the time we had our salads, they tried to deliver our food no more than 2 minutes later. They sent it back to wait since we just got our salad. They did not do a good job monitoring us, as we had several times our waters were empty and we again had to wait for our main food after we finished our salad. Again, the food was good, but our overall meal experience took forever. While out of their control, the police was banging on the door across the hall from us at 5-6am for at least 5 minutes. Pool was nice, casino was nice, and the room was in order. We had a good time, but it definitely could have been a better trip.

Hotel rooms are top notch, love the size of room, bathroom is huge with beautiful shower. Very comfy quiet room.

We arrived , the valet gentleman was unfreindly, and the man at the front desk . We asked if we could park our bike up front because my husband is an amputee and other health issues. But they said we would have to park in the garage and walk back to the front. He almost fell 5 times. The beds where hard as a rock very uncomfortable

We had our anniversary and celebrated it at Monarch resort in Black Hawk, CO.

Well everything is ok until I come back from the casino and I need or i want to have a green tea in the room at 1:55 am and they don’t leave cups for hot

Not a single complaint about the property. Pleasantly surprised with everything for the price!

We paid in full through hotels.com we were aware of the resort fees/ room deposit that you do upon check in. I had a great stay but after we checked out we were charged a random $157 in addition to what i mentioned earlier but it was a separate charge. Called the hotel to resolve but we got hung up on then transferred back in fourth until finally getting a voicemail. We still have no solution or answer and it’s been a week

Worst check in Ive ever had a hotel...we had to wait an hour to check in because they couldn't find our reservation, no apology given, no concessions. Despite waiting over an hour to check in for what was supposed to be a milestone birthday we were treated like crap with a my hands are tied attitude. Also the club rooms are a bit of a scam, sure theyre on a higher floor, but they dont really give you anything.

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The room was comfortable and clean. The service staff was extremely polite and helpful.

Fantastic casino and hotel. The hot tubs and pools were great, could have been open later but still awesome. The room was clean and worth the money. The showerhead needed to be replaced but worked and the shower drain didn’t work the best but we will be back again.

totally over rated skip the over priced buffet ....lobster was a lobster tail from a 3/4 pound lobster and it was overcooked aalong with the scrawny crab legs

We were surprised and impressed with Monarch. Last time I was in Black hawk was more than 10 years ago. The hotel is one of the most professional, clean, organized, and welcoming I have stayed in. The room was just perfect, everything looks well maintained and taken care of. It is big, and there are a lot of people, but you don't really feel overwhelmed or too crowded. Loved it, and will definitely be back

Worse experience i have ever had !! I spent $250 + on a nice king spa suite for me and my girlfriend to have a lil get away and enjoy a night away then spent another $130 dollars on a meal for the 2 of us and gambled an additional 400 dollars all in a matter of 5 hrs or so at your establishment when my girlfriend decided to go use your smoke room to have a cigarette she came out of the room found me said she needed to go to the bathroom and would be right back 5 mins later your employee is saying she was smoking in the bathroon cause the alarm went off and she is getting trespassed and has tti leave the property !! Based on what evidence because some alarm went off ?? No smoke no ashes no reason other than some alarm ?? Told him to check the tapes and see where she came from before the bathroom ? Why would she go straight in there and light up again ?? But his alarm is all the proof he needed so we didnt get to enjoy the facility we paid for wasnt given a refund for the room not to mention the other 530 dollars wasted !! Will never be back and will tell everyone to go else were !! Your procedures dont welcome guests even when they spend money lots of it there ill go to Ameristar next time and spend my money !!

Got into our room after waiting 2 hrs for it to get ready. The room was hot at 74 degrees and turned the thermostat to 65 and it took 16 hrs just to get to 70 and that was at checkout. The shower door seemed to shift slightly on the next day and then was hitting the stationary glass. Nice room, size was good.

Fantastic hotel! This hotel checks off all the boxes. It is clean , it has a great rooftop pool that serves food and great drinks. The staff is friendly, the rooms are huge, clean with great amenities. They have a large selection of restaurant options. I felt the pricing for the buffet much too expensive. The steakhouse is fabulous, with a great food selection.

Just a short, one night stay, but our room was very spacious, clean and nicely decorated. I must mention, it’s the most comfortable bed I’ve slept on in ages!

The room was beautiful and updated. I enjoyed having 2 sinks. The elevator system was not my favorite. The hot tubs were nice but wish the outside one was bigger.

Our favorite hotel in several states. Best feature is the bed. And we know we never have to bring our own pillows. This time we noticed Monarch badly needs some new towels. Be prepared to walk long distances to the casino, the garage, hotel lobby. It’s just the way the building is built but beautiful and comfortable, and we love our stays.
