Perfect in every way.

Great location on the beach front; relaxing pool area (music rather loud), nice wooden architecture, rooms in excellent condition. Breakfast without varieties, service appears sometimes unmotivated; Asian restaurant offers rather average sushi.
Great base to explore the Island, but eat out.

We spent a wonderful time at Aldea Kuka. The food is great, the yoga class, and the night show. Every excellent.

Everything was great the food was great, but the staff was amazing I want to give special thanks to the servers in the restaurant that went about and behind to meet my needs and also want to give special thanks to Elvis that also gave me tips of what to do in the island and how to move around in my way back home!!

Great resort and location
8.0 / 10.0
The good:
Architectural charm: Aldea Kuka boasts captivating architecture that seamlessly blends with its natural surroundings. The design is unique and inviting.
Aesthetic ambiance: The overall look and feel of the resort create a serene and relaxing atmosphere.
Friendly lobby staf: The warm and welcoming lobby staff enhance the guest experience, their hospitality sets a positive tone upon arrival.
The Bad:
Hidden breakfast tips: Unfortunately, Aldea Kuka falls short when it comes to transparency. Charging tips (propina) for breakfast, which should be included in the room rate, is disappointing.
Consumption oriented: The resort’s focus on consumption (especially tipping) can feel excessive. While tipping is not mandatory, it often feels like noblesse oblige—expected rather than optional.
Thin Walls: The rooms suffer from thin walls, allowing every neighbor’s movement to echo through. Light sleepers might find this bothersome.
Addressing those areas could elevate Aldea Kuka to the ranks of high-end hotels.

Great place in a perfect location.
Fantastic experience! Loved the hotel vibes - built in and around nature.
The rooms are beautiful, simple, and very clean , have everything you need.
There is yoga and breakfast every morning, both of which are fantastic.
Every staff member is genuine and so kind.

Aldea Kuka is a beautiful botique hotel situated along Holbox beach. It is well maintained, staff are super friendly and attentive, and rooms are beyond spacious and roomy. The breakfast menu is exciting and full of delicious selection of western and mexican style food.

My third time in Holbox and second time at this resort and I must say this is a gem ! Great friendly staff, attentive, food is great. Great mix of peace and quiet and small 5-10 min max walk to town . Love Alda Kuka

This was our third time staying at this hotel. We have always loved it in the past but this time we booked a room with two beds because we had family traveling with us. The noise from upstairs was unbearable. We could hear the other occupants talking, screaming, moving furniture, and everything else. We would stay here again but not in one of these type of rooms.

We had a small vow ceremony with some friends. We organized a small dinner on the beach that turned out great. The staff actually went above and beyond. There provided service that we didn’t expect. In addition, the dinner set up they did was incredible. I’ll never forget it. I would definitely stay here again. The one think I would have liked to know ahead of time was the $1000 hold for incidentals, that was kinda is steep. Also be forewarned that you can head everything in your room and there is no insulation. Other than that. Perfect place.

This resort is absolutely stunning. Extremely luxurious whilst also feeling natural and relaxed. Our room was spacious with a large outdoor area. The staff were always friendly and helpful.

Had a great time at Aldea Kuka! For us, we loved that it was a 15 minute walk from the town core and was very quiet in the evenings.
The room was a bit strange as it had no chairs or tables, even on the balcony, but there were large cushions that were comfortable to sit on.
The music during the day was repetitive and WAY too loud, but we had some noise cancelling earbuds, so we were all good from that standpoint.
Breakfast was outstanding, staff were VERY helpful and kind, and the gym is an awesome addition that we used every morning!

This is my second time at Holbox and i will definitely be staying here in Aldea Kuka again. I traveled solo and it was perfect, the beach, breakfast options , drinks , pool and easy 10 minute walk into town.

The service needs lots of help. Great hotel ,great place but they need to upgrade there service if they want to make it a DIAMOND.

The hotel looks incredible inside & out! However looks are deceiving! Long story, short, the hotel staff are trained as if they're working at a 2 star hotel. The rooms look amazing, however due to the design of the hotel, and you're staying on the first floor room, you can hear every step & word the people above you make due to the design. The first floor ceiling boards are legitimately the 2nd floors actual flooring. Usually you have a ceiling, an air gap with insulation to stop noise transfer then a subfloor & flooring. Won't be returning!

We loved our 6 night stay at the Aldea Kuka. From waking up and lounging on our own private patio to taking a relaxing moment in yoga class to enjoying a delicious breakfast at 1130am every morning (loved that we weren't made to eat early...) to walking the beach countless times, we LOVED every moment. The staff and the prettiness of the property were bonuses!

DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL .Decided to stay here for a night. At check in, an hour after the standard time, the room wasn’t ready, they asked us to wait for 15 minutes which turned out to be 45. They give us a room which was in front of construction workers who could see inside of our room and made construction noises non stop. We asked to be moved to another room, they moved us to a room right next to the first one. At 4,50 am I went to the toilet and the toilet wasn’t working cause there wasn’t water in the wc. I go to the reception (5 am) there is no one there, completely closed and nobody around. I walk around the property at 5 am looking for someone to help me, I couldn’t find anyone. I went back to the room, couldn’t sleep and couldn’t use the toilet. A couple of hours later, around 8 am a loud banging noise begins and won’t go away for at least 1 hour. I go back to the reception, nobody goes to check on the noise, nobody says anything besides we are sorry for the inconvenience. I asked for a refund since I e couldn’t use the toilet and couldn’t sleep due to the noise and the lack of water. They offer a massage ! This hotel calls itself luxury but the only luxury part is the price, the people
Working there at reception are useless and didn’t solve anything. The manager is useless and reception people are helpless. The only people working there and providing a good services are the restaurant and cleaning staff. A 700 dollar nightmare and a waste of money

If you’re used to 5 star service you’re going to be let down.
I booked this hotel because the rooms looked beautifully decorated and modern for a remote island. Was pleasantly surprised by the cirque show that happens nightly at 8pm. Was really nice to be entertained during dinner.
All of the staff at the restaurants and cafe were very attentive.
Where this hotel fell short was daily cleaning of the rooms and restocking of items in the mini bar/ coffee. Not replacing towels even when we followed instructions. No thorough cleaning of the restroom or shower during the stay.
There was loud construction in the morning to afternoon that was happening 2 days out of our 4 day stay.
Also please double check you don’t leave anything in the room upon departure as it seems they don’t have a post office on the island in order to ship out anything left behind?

The facility is very nice.
Staff is extremely friendly.
Some rules such as no outside beer allowed on the beach when 3/4 of the selection offered was unavailable! Seems extreme.
We order al lobster pizza prices at 1026 pesos assuming it’s a nice place it should be good…. Was disgusting, frozen crust and gross disappointed with that for sure.

A wonderful 4 night stay, the staff were all so lovely and helpful. Hotel is beautiful, quiet but a 15min walk to the town. Would definitely recommend and hope to be back soon.
My only feedback would not too charge extra for a cappuccino for breakfast, things like that go a long way.

The property was situated in an ideal spot on the beach, beautiful walking and views of the ocean. The hotel itself is well appointed and looked very picturesque. The downside was there was absolutely no noise buffering, every night and every morning sounded like a rugby match being played upstairs. ( as late as 11pm and early as 7 am) When I complained to the front desk on my 2nd morning and asked to switch rooms- they said they would talk to the room above mine and kinda just dismissed my issue. nothing changed, the rugby match continued . Also, on my first night, a giant cockroach was climbing down from the curtains, added stressor for sleep. The hotel also experienced frequent power outages.. I ended up leaving the property several days early because of the noise issues and only upon telling them I was checking out did they offer to give me a different room- but after four night of very little sleep and poor sleep at that, I would rather fly all the way home then take a chance on another room. While the staff were very friendly, it did little to alleviate my concerns.
The restaurant food was subpar. For the prices they were charging, I would expect chips to be not soggy, cheese pizza to be somewhat edible, and at least some local dishes on the menu. This is a hotel for an American who wants an American experience and will eat swill with no complaint. There is no local flavor to be appreciated. I wouldn’t stay here again.
3.0 / 10.0
While the property is phenomenal, the service and hotel policies are unfortunately the opposite.
- A US$1,000 deposit is required at check in. This is absolutely ridiculous amount for what this hotel offers. Not even the Four Seasons asks for this much!
- Debit cards are not accepted for deposits. Only credit cards. All other hotels accept this without question. It is actual cash at hand!
- Food and items at the hotel boutique shop is way overpriced and does not do justice for the quality that is offered. Ie. a pizza was US$44! A straw hat US$300! Insane! These guys think they are in the maldives or something
- We felt like staff was trained to forget about what customer service really means and focus more in to how do we profit the most from guests. Ie. No juice refill at breakfast and portions of fruit and yogurt were probably smaller than kids size. Anything extra would incur in an additional charge. The whole time felt like they were monitoring every single drop that guests had. Very disturbing. Zero tact and no clue about customer service.
- Every time they would bring a bill, it would be printed with a "suggested" total with 15% tip included. Although this practice is common in other places, particularly the US, this is not appropriate. Gratuity should always be optional and discretionary based on quality of service. Never to be imposed and demanded.
We will not stay here again and we'd rather pay more to be at another where they know how to treat a guest.

The service was wonderful at this property. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They went up and beyond to make sure we have a pleasant stay. Especially Orlando is such a gentleman and a problem solver. Him and Ignacio (nacho) our heroes. On our last day there was a state of emergency due to a high waves taking over the island. There were no means of transportation in the island.
They did everything to protect us and make us feel safe and comfortable. They arranged all the transfers for us to make sure we make it to our flight. very grateful for this team, knowing so many people got stuck cause their hotel staff abandoned them.
The free breakfast was pretty awesome. They provide freshly cut fruits, granola and yogurt as a starter and let yo choose and entre from the breakfast menu, fresh juices and coffee and it goes until 12pm.
The pool is heated and The beach at this hotel is the best among the rest of island. It's exactly like in the pictures, turquoise color flat water looks like heaven. do not go during windy days then the ocean gets rough. The food at the hotel was average, I recommend eating out at downtown. There is a bit walking distance from downtown but it totally worth it to be right by that beach cause the shore near downtown is not nice.
Even though it has a old rustic look the rooms and facilities are new, nice and very clean. There are yoga sessions 3 times a day everyday. Overall, it was a wonderful stay.

Loved this hotel! The rooms and hotel were so beautiful!! But the best part had to be the beach access the sandbanks started from our hotel and the view was just magical. I truly can't wait to go back! We drove by all the hotels near by and this was by far the best one, so happy with our decision in staying here!
