I have stayed here before and although it has its pitfalls like the Warren of lifts and corridors the great staff and the great view along with the position next to a tram stop outweigh the downsides .. however a few pointers for the management .. the outside pool terrace bar was closed although it rains surely it can open on brighter days it is one of your major selling points ! ,,, add more toilets in public areas one is not enough ! .. and buy duvet covers getting rid of the weird sheets round the duvet it just doesn’t work ! Otherwise all good

Very elegant, well maintained and conveniently located hotel on the Vila Nova de Gaia district of Porto. Very friendly and helpful multi-lingual staff. The room we got had a nice view of the Douro River as well as the Luiz I bridge. Except for an unpleasant incident with their event planner, who was rude to my wife and I at the restaurant the evening of October 3rd, everything went well and we had a 3 night, 4 day pleasant stay at the hotel.

The location is absolutely great and room was fine but the staff…they were so rude and picky. I didn’t stay there for free but their attitude was so uncomfortable to me. This hotel visit lots of foreigners from different countries so must prepare for that.

Beautiful hotel right on the banks of the Douro River. Rooms that face the river have great views of the bridge. It can be noisy with the crowds and train on the bridge.

If you want to explore Porto area on foot or easy access to public transit, this is the spot. We had a great stay for 4 days and always a pleasure returning to our room with a great view of the bridge. The restaurant and bar service of hotel is excellent.

This spot is amazing - multiple dining and drinking options in the hotel, excellent location, housekeeping was on point, views are insane, and if you want to avoid the stairs the hotel elevator can take you to the first floor for access to the lower part of the city or the 14th floor for access to the upper parts of the city. 10 stars.

The location had breathtaking views and so close and accessible to Porto. The hotel was beautiful and so relaxing. The staff was very welcoming, accommodating and friendly. We will definitely be back and pass on the recommendation to family and friends.

The hotel is located at a VERY nice point to overview the bridge Luis. It´s beautiful to have the sunrise and sunset sightseeing from the hotel. Our room was in the 12th floor, the bridge is at the 14th floor level of the hotel, the room wtih river side view is preferred! The breakfast is with plenty selection of food, the cheese board, the bread and the fruit varieties are not extremely large, but already good enough to a satisfactory breakfast. The metro is at the corner of the hotel, it’s convenient to take the public transportation to anywhere. There are also small restaurants near by, no problem with the kind of food at all. The only concern is the sound proof from the hall, when the children run or screaming at the corridor, and closing the room doors, the sound it really loud and annoying for the people who want to stay in room and have a rest.

Upon checking into the room I found that it was nearby the bridge tram that caused extreme noise and shaking every 10 minutes except for 1-6 AM when tram service stops. I attempted to change rooms, and when I was informed no other rooms were available I asked if I could check out and get a refund as I could not sleep or relax in my room with the din of the tram rumbling me six times an hour. The receptionists curtly stated that no refunds would be given even though I had just checked in ten minutes prior. As I envisioned I was only able to get any sleep between 1-6 AM when the tram was not running. The next day I was exhausted because I was not able to get a proper night’s sleep. I enailed the hotel’s management regarding the poor customer service and unacceptable noise levels and did not receive a response. The amenities and location of a hotel can be top notch, but if sleep quality and customer service are low tier then the experience is ruined. Sadly a beautiful hotel in a good location is unbookable due to bad sound proofing and nonexistent customer service stemming from toxic and apathetic management who place heads in beds and profit above guest experience. With all the great hotel options in Porto I recommend you give Vincci Ponte de Ferro a pass.
