The room was clean but very small and tight with the king bed. We were on the 3rd floor and there are no elevators, not conducive to bad knees. It was close to the train station and many restaurants.

Cool old hotel. Modern but maintains the nostalgic touch. Do not opt for the 3rd floor if you’re over 70 or have a lot of bags!! No elevator.

They did a great job of renewing an 1886 hotel. Only problem was we were not ready to climb 2 long flights of stairs with luggage at 10,000' elevation.

This is a very quaint, quiet, clean hotel right in downtown Leadville. You can walk on Main Street, grab dinner/lunch/breakfast, shop, rent bikes and not have to drive. I truly enjoyed my stay. They had a fan, a sound machine and hairdryer… the essentials! The front desk receptionist was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay again.

We loved this hotel. Our room was small but that’s fine for us. It does have that old world charm and we love it. It’s right off the Main Street so very easy to walk to restaurants and shopping and surprisingly quiet. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Well stay here again.

This was a laat minute decision to stay here. We loved it! We wish we had more than 1 night to stay (our plans didnt allow it). We look foward to staying again. **Just an FYI, there is no elevator, so if stairs are an issue for you, this is not the place to stay**

It’s to be expected that a very old, historic property will have some issues. But you should know that the rooms are lower quality that a Motel 6. At least with a Motel 6 you can control the temperature in your room. And a Motel 6 room doesn’t have the sink in the bedroom.

We loved the renovated property. Beautiful lighting, spacious areas to relax. Beautiful bar area. Very nice restaurant. Our room was also beautiful. The walk to the 3rd floor was challenging with luggage and very steep stairs. I get it, it's an old hotel. We had a fan in the room and used it the whole time as there was no air conditioning. It was mid-August so tolerable. I wouldn't stay in July though. The staff was friendly. I would stay again if in the area.

Using Historic as a way to describe a hotel that isn’t taken care of is misleading and basically should be illegal. This place was horrendous. Noisy, poorly maintained and atrocious all around. The fact that I have stayed in hostels that were cleaner and better maintained for $20/night compared to the outrageous cost of this place is ridiculous

The Delaware was an excellent home for LT100 weekend. The staff were very accommodating, and rooms were clean and very nice, and the location a block from the start can’t be beat. I plan to stay every year if I can!

Bed was balanced by wood pieces on one side. Walls are very thin and rooms are very small. You can hear every sound coming from the next room. The staff was super friendly and the hotel is in the best location right in the heart of Leadville. Good for one night since you won't get much sleep if you have people who snore loudly in the next room. Not good for much longer unless you enjoy no sleep and wood pieces keeping the bed stable.

When I arrived at the hotel, it was a very old antique building, and everything seemed to be historical. Later, I found out that each room had historical events. I think it will be memorable for a long time that I slept in such a place and left.

GREAT LOCATION! Stayed on 7/4-7/5 and loved our experience, especially THE STAFF. Easy check-in, room was comfortable and adequate, but is nothing fancy. Shower is very small (Room 314). There isn’t AC, but we didn’t need it. Food at this hotel is EXCEPTIONAL. Has some ghost stories and we definitely had an experience! Would stay again. WARNING: No elevator and stairs are steep, but staff can help with luggage. Free Parking and walking is easy to any location in the main street area (City on a Hill for coffee, Melanzana for the “Leadville attire” and Wuincy’s for prime rib or filet mignon.

Be sure that you thoroughly check out this hotel before booking. We booked a non cancel room at over $200 a night and were extremely disappointed. We are in our 70s and were assigned to a 3rd floor room. No elevator. Steep flights of stairs. In that altitude very difficult to climb. Then we find that there is no air conditioning. Room was very uncomfortable. The shower was so small that you couldn’t bend at all. Asked for a refund so that we could check out. The answer was no. We lost over $500 but couldn’t stand to stay and be so uncomfortable.

This is my second time staying at the The Delaware Hotel in Leadville. I was in town to run the Leadville Heavy Half Marathon. Great staff!!! The restaurant has the BEST FOOD in town. Lookng forward to returning next year!

The last time I stay in the Delaware was in 1988 and it has changed quite a bit under the new ownership. The hotel is 138 years old, so keep that in mind when you book. It’s been recently renovated and is charming, but there are the typical hot water surges, wavy wooden floors and squeaky beds, but that’s why you would want to stay there. I would say that beds in our room were seriously uncomfortable. The mattresses are either old or inferior and no amount of charm makes that okay at $200+ per night. The restaurant has a fabulous breakfast menu, and our server was outstanding.

Love everything about it except the steps but it wouldn’t be right to have a elevator it would take away from the age authenticity. Bed was super comfy and staff was so helpful. Very clean, food in downstairs restaurant was very unique and good.
