About this house rental
If you are interested in renting this property, PLEASE send an inquiry regarding this property with your requested dates BEFORE you send a booking request. This is a small 4 bedroom cottage located directly on the beach. Don't let the outside fool you; this cottage has a very nice interior. The cottage is small with approximately 1500 square feet total with an excellent design to maximize the living space. The main living area is on the 2nd floor where there is a living room, a stocked full kitchen with granite counter tops and two bedrooms and a full bath. The master bedroom has a king size bed and the other a queen size bed. All of the mattresses are Beautyrest Black Nappa Plus hybrid pillow top mattresses each with think mattress pads - which are the best mattresses you will ever sleep on. The living room has a queen sleeper sofa. The living room has a sliding glass door that opens onto a large open deck with a large L-shaped outdoor sofa. There is also an outdoor grill located on the deck. The downstairs area has two queen bedrooms and a full bath. There is a laundry area with a washer and dryer downstairs. There is a separate full kitchen downstairs with a small living room area with another queen sleeper sofa. The downstairs living room area has French glass doors that open to a sitting area with two picnic tables located underneath the deck off of the second floor. As stated above, the upstairs and downstairs space has been designed to maximize the available living space for a small beach front rental cottage which subsequently leaves small areas for available closet space. There is room for parking for 4 vehicles; with one space behind the rear deck of the house and 3 parking spaces in the front of the house. Pets are welcome. Please do not allow pets to be on the furniture/ beds for any reason. If pet hair is on furniture/ bedding, you will be charged an additional $150 cleaning fee.
This property only rents for a 7 day minimum in the months of June and July, during holiday weeks, as well as the week of the Ritz Concourse car show and the week of the Shrimp boat festival. You can always inquiry if less days are desired, which may be possible at times due to other existing reserved dates when less than 7 days are available. This is our second time staying here and we’ll definitely be back! It’s such a great location. Even on a holiday weekend, the place felt quiet and the beach was not crowded. It was a hot weekend, so the under deck area was a great retreat from the for the kids to play. And the upper deck is great for evenings in the summer. It was so nice to see the beach and sunrise from the deck. Great stay!

Was staying in town for a wedding and didn’t want to get 4 hotel rooms for family. This was perfect!! Right on beach, not expensive, and had all the amenities you would need. Very clean and inside is very up to date. Owners responded very quickly to any questions we had. 2 minute walk to restaurants and bar.

I was so happy with this property. We LOVED everything about it. The only thing we weren’t aware of is there are no inside stairs to downstairs. So it’s actually like two apartments instead of one house. We were going to put the kids down there but being so young, we weren’t comfortable without stairs. Not a huge deal at all. It was perfect in every other way! We will be booking again!

Overall our stay was good.
Location was great. Right on the beach over the dune with a private walk way. Close to restaurants/bars with live music and a convenience store, beach shops and rentals, mini golf and a kids playground all in walking distance. It is also just a short drive do the downtown with lots of shops and restaurants.
The property is well prepared for guests and we'll stocked. It is clear the owner wants guests to enjoy their stay. That said, the cleaning service left something to be desired. The floors were not clean at all with crumbs, sand and pet hair so we had to clean thoroughly. Also, the duvet covers on the beds appeared as though they had never been washed. We had to wash all bedding before we were comfortable sleeping in the beds and this literally lightened the color of the duvet covers multiple shades. That said, I think this is on the cleaning service and the property manager should pay close attention to the job they are doing.
Once cleaned, the house was great.

Wonderful surprise! The view from the deck was amazing! Watched the sunrise every morning! It is beautifully decorated. It is not only ocean front but it is so close to Main Street Park and Fort Clinch State park. Also it is close to Historic Fernandino Beach shopping and dining. Communication with host was great! We actually stayed another day! Can not wait to visit again! Comfy beds made it a restful stay!

We had a great stay here, the place has everything you need and more. Plenty of linens and kitchen ware for the whole crowd. The location is wonderful, you can hear and see the ocean from the back sliding doors. There are 2 nice bars/restaurants within a very short walk. When we come back into the area we would love to stay again.

Our family and doodles enjoyed this property! The owners supplied many needed items with the house and the large fenced in deck was perfect for dogs. The beds were very comfortable! The house is old- therefore, naturally musty; however, not enough to keep us from coming back!

This house was right on the beach with a gorgeous view of the ocean. I was concerned from the photos that there was no central air, but the ac units kept it very cool on hot days. It has two separate two-bedroom units, upstairs is the only one with a view. Well stocked with plenty of towels. Very clean. Would absolutely stay here again. Great access to a quiet section of beach, there is a short path directly outside.

Beautiful beach. Very convenient area (2 restaurants within walking distance). Nice bedrooms and kitchen. Only negatives were no inside access to bottom floor rooms and laundry, and the view. While it is right on the other side of the dune, we love to sit on the deck and watch the beach, but we were looking at the back of the dune.

The house was actually two separate spaces. Although is able to sleep 12, would be very tight with that many. There is a run-down house in front of this unit, which we thought at first was what we rented. Glad to figure out we were looking at the wrong building. Loved the outdoor porch but not crazy about having to go outside to get from upper and lower parts of the house. Also when we got there we had to fold a load of 3 sets of sheets that had been left in the dryer. That’s what we pay the cleaning fee for right?

The property was exactly as described in the listing. The owner did a nice job with the indoor renovations. The outside upper deck could use a little work. We had some toddlers with us and needed to block the edges. There was a net along the top deck railing that was not secured, and any small child could have easily fallen through. Still giving 5 stars though as this property had everything we needed. It is a short walk away to 2 great restaurants, Salt Life and Sandbar, and a short drive away from downtown. The 2 bedrooms downstairs do not have closet spaces, but we were able to store luggage under the beds. There are plenty of beach and bath towels for use as well as a few beach chairs. Each room has its own wall mount AC that worked really well. We would stay here again!

The beach chairs and umbrella were perfect.
The only issues we had were the 2 queen beds downstairs. They are very high from the ground. Could actually use a small step stool to get in and out of bed. But, on the plus side, the beds and pillows were very comfy and smelled good.
The gate latch to the upstairs deck was a little wonky and our 9 pound dogs could fit through the slats.
All in all, we were all very pleased with the place and felt like we were at home. Had a great time. Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay, short walk to beach, all rooms in house was very small , but we managed, nice appliances but ice maker upstairs did not work and there were no dishes or trash can in downstairs kitchen, Beds were all very nice and comfortable. I would recommend for smaller family.

I would absolutely recommend staying here. The decor was calming and appropriately beachy. The beds were comfortable and plush. The location was incredible and the deck meant we could hear and see the water without leaving the house. You can't see much of the waves, but you can see the water and hear the waves.
There were 6 beach chairs of good quality, a brand new beach umbrella that you can screw into the sand, beach towels (maybe 5), and a fridge that plays Pandora.
The beach is maybe 50 feet away, just up and down a tiny sand dunes and once there low tide reveals a sand bar with small water pool that would be perfect for little kids, and the waves weren't rough but Saturday did lure some surfers there.
All in all I'd absolutely stay here again.

We were 3 families including 6 adults and 7 kids that came to visit for spring break. We had the best time! It is so nice to be right on the beach when you have kids. It made coming back to the house for anything so easy. The property manager was communicative and understanding and let one family check in early when they arrived. We knew about the 2 floors being separated with only outside access so that wasn't a huge surprise or inconvenience. All the beds were super comfortable, having 2 fridges was an absolute convenience, and overall we just had the best time. Would consider coming back in the future!

We had a great time while staying so close to the beach. We loved the proximity to the water, restaurants, town, shark's teeth and the ability to hear the ocean from your own porch. The fact that the upstairs and downstairs weren't connected from the inside was clearly presented in the description and didn't deter us from choosing this location but it was a little odd. Overall we would stay here again.

We immediately contacted the manager with these issues, and were offered a refund for the remaining nights, but we would have had to leave the property and there was virtually nothing else available on the island during this 3-day weekend at the height of the season. Hence, the following:
The upstairs and downstairs are not connected, and you have to go outside to get to the other level.
There is one window on the lower level and it doesn't open. There is no screen on the sliding door, and therefore no fresh air on the lower level; the lower level is the equivalent of a basement or a cave.
The heat / AC units on both levels were showing an error code and did not work.
There were no hangers on either level and no closets in the lower level, i.e., there was nowhere to hang clothes.
There was one half-full hand soap dispenser for both upstairs and downstairs bathrooms and kitchens.
The upstairs deck gate doesn't work properly, and the "netting" around the deck doesn't attach at the bottom, leaving huge gaps that kids and pets could fall through.
There were no downstairs wastebaskets or garbage can.
The linens all smelled of heavily fragranced laundry detergent, which some people love and some people have sensitivities to and do not love. The fragrance was so strong it was first thought that Glade Plug-Ins were in use. Because there was no fresh air downstairs, the fragrance was especially strong on that level.
The upstairs kitchen faucet was not properly attached to the sink.
The positives were the following:
- Nice TVs in 3 of the 4 bedrooms.
- The frig plays Pandora.
- WIFI is great.
- The beach is beautiful.
- The property is walking distance to many things.

Overall we were happy with our stay. Great location. Could use some decluttering in cabinets and on the front deck around the grill.
As mentioned in the description it’s tight quarters in regards to closet space/drawers.
No wine glasses or any glass cups. All plastic.
This property looks like is up for sale so not sure if that matters to some.

The listing says it all, don’t be fooled by the outside. This listing does reflect it being a small rental, and the owners have maximized space very well. We are a family of 6 adults and everyone had plenty of room to be comfortable while hanging out. Location was awesome. We got great pictures of the ocean right from the deck! Communication was quick and simple when we had quiestions. Highly recommend this rental.

The house was very comfortable, clean, and nice, but the headline is the location. You have a beautiful oceanfront view, access to the beach right out your door, restaurants in walking distance, and just a short drive to downtown. The beach was quiet when we were there so it was peaceful and perfect. Also note, the stars at night are some of the best I’ve ever seen.

My wife and I spent the week of Thanksgiving at this property in Fernandina beach, along with three of our adult children. This house borders sea grass-covered dunes, and has an unobstructed view of the beach. It’s a very short walk to the beach along a path through the dunes, and this proximity can’t be beat! The house also has a very nice large elevated deck, allowing guests to fully enjoy the view and the sun. The interior of the two level house has been nicely renovated, including a contemporary kitchen on both levels, top quality washer and dryer downstairs, and a remote controlled air conditioning unit in virtually every room. The king beds in all four bedrooms are soft, but comfortable. Because the weather was drizzly most of the week, we spent more time indoors than we would have under sunny, warm conditions. This accentuated two drawbacks:
• each of the rooms in the upper level, where we spent most of our time, is small; the same is true in the lower level
• the upper and lower levels are completely separate, and it’s necessary to use the outdoor stairs to move from one level to the other.
This would be a nice arrangement for two small families vacationing together, but was inconvenient for our larger family. An interior “corkscrew” stairway between the two levels might be a solution. Nonetheless, we enjoyed being together in the kitchen and family room in the upper level.
Incompletely finished closets and some clutter in the closets, on the deck, and in the area under the deck, detracted from the quality of residence. Attention to these issues would make the property more appealing.
Overall, this is a great beach property, and the issues I’ve raised would have been less noticeable had the weather been sunny and warm, and had we spent more of our time outdoors.

Great location! Steps away from the beach and several restaurants in walking distance. House is well stocked and plenty of beach items available. Each room has its own a/c unit and the master bed is very comfortable. Quality appliances and grill available. We loved grilling out and hanging out on the deck at night listening to the waves. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!

I love everything about this rental! From the super comfortable beds to the amazing view from the deck. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and outside there is a grill, beach chairs, an umbrella, and a beach cart. This home is right on the beach and close to town with some really good restaurants within walking distance. This place was perfect for our family vacation and we will definitely be back!

Great location and easy access to the beach. We had a few AC issues and some work being done to the home, but these were handled quickly and we had great response from the owner - all we could ask for. Everything was new and there were a lot of supplies for us - an added perk! Only thing we would add would be an outdoor shower - for washing off sand and/or showering.
