About this house rental
Without a doubt, one of the jewels of the Pacific Northwest. Oak Rise lives up to it's name. Stay here to enjoy almost 83 acres of towering oaks and a list of amenities that is unparalleled. The custom built home is loaded with upgrades and high end finishes throughout.
Inside the main house the main living and kitchen area is adorned with vaulted ceilings and the windows to match. The smaller eat in table in the dining room combined with the larger formal dining is great for almost any group. The entire home inside and out was curated with a level of furnishings and décor that is rarely seen and creates that perfect blend of style and comfort for your stay.
The main house has four bedrooms and two and a half baths. The guest house has another traditional bedroom and full bathroom that with an additional loft area above creating a sixth bedroom that is open to below. Any time of year guests will enjoy the billiards table, ping pong, air hockey. Just outside is an epic setup with plush seating, fire-pit, incredible views, and hot tub that can overlook it all.
Just the level of enjoyment to be had outside is its own special story. Whether you are meandering through the Savannah Oaks, or laying out and taking a swim in the pool. Play some hoops with your group, or relax on one of the patios. At Oak Rise you can be as active or laid back as you want. One thing you can't be is disappointed as it truly is something that is a special experience to behold.
We truly want you to enjoy your time and make some wonderful memories with your group. That being said, this is not a party or gathering house for groups that can't control their noise levels. We have relationships with all of our neighbors who have our direct contact information. Quiet time is 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please stay indoors during this time, keep the windows and doors closed and keep the volume to an enjoyable but reasonable level. If it is loud enough to be heard outside in these conditions, it is too loud for you to remain our guest. This property includes a noise alert monitoring system in order to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. Again, please realize we want every group to enjoy their time, laugh, have fun and make memories. These devices are only to ensure noise levels don't reach a threshold that bothers our neighbors. Also, please note there is no electronic video surveillance monitoring pools or spas, or on the interior of the house.
PET FRIENDLY: **There is a $100 pet fee per pet with a maximum of $300 (3 pets). Although we are pet-friendly please note your pet must not be left unattended at the house without you present, even if in a crate/kennel. Failure to adhere to the house rules as it pertains to pets may result in cancellation of the booking with no refund. **

The primary reason we booked this home for my birthday was for the pool. It took me calling the company that manages the house, itrip with concerns about the color and look of the pool for them to admit knew there was an issue with the pool 5 days prior to our reservation. They told me that they had a pool tech out the morning before our reservation began and knew the pool was not usable and needed to be closed for the season. They had already decided somehow that they were going to replace it with. Chlorine pool, yet didn’t have the decency to call me to let me know about these concerns and breach of agreement. I booked this house under the agreement that there was a working pool. I would expect they let me know as soon as an aspect of our contract had changed. I believe they did not due to worry I would cancel and they would lose money. Money over customer satisfaction! They offered a measly 5% refund when 95% of the reason we rented this house was for the pool.
Then, after the ridiculous mismanagement and lack of communication, 3 people entered the property at 7:00 pm on a Saturday. Absolutely not ok and we did not know who they were and questioned our safety. After I reached out to itrips with my concern for the strangers on the property we rented, were we informed it was the owners son and friends! Absurd! Breach of contract again! Was that them having a rave the night before too??? Do not stay at this scam of a house!

We stayed at Oak Rise with 5 families on a friends getaway. We had a fantastic time; the game room, pool, basketball court and acreage kept us busy. We didn’t really need to leave the property once. We had a lot of small children between our families and it felt safe for them as well. When we arrived there was an issue with the AC but I contacted iTrip and it was resolved quickly. Our only feedback would be that there wasn’t enough coffee mugs for all 10 adults to have coffee in the morning and also having some plastic drinkware would be useful for at the pool and/or for kids. Great property though, would definitely rent again!

At check-in, we were informed that the hot tub was not working. On arrival, the AC was not on and it was hot. The upstairs never recovered. Also, the garage had a large number of biting flies inside. Someone came the next day and bombed the garage; others came a few hours later to clean up the dead flies. Cleaner was there until 7pm on check in day and left some tasks incomplete (garbage in kitchen, sticky floor in kitchen, stained sheets in one bed). Something outside of the guest house turned on at random intervals through the night, waking the occupants. The water turned off for no apparent reason on occasion. The house was in need of many repairs. Many of the windows in the house were foggy, the doors to the back yard were sticky and one didn’t close properly. The dishwasher seemed improperly installed and in almost every wash, several dishes came out dirty. The pool had many dead bugs in it, but there was a skimmer so we were able to clear it out. The house has a number of electronic features, including power window shades and a computer screen with information on the house and the area. However, neither the home screen nor the binder on the house included instructions that were needed (window shades, thermostat, appliances). We figured out most of the shades, but two never responded to the control. We did receive responses to our text inquiries during the week. but overall, we were very disappointed in this stay.

The house is in a fantastic location that is very private and great for large groups. Plenty of space for everyone and the separate unit worked out well. The patio was great to hangout on and enjoy the evenings.
The just was always quick to respond and took care of things needed. The only downside was the pool was not as clean as should be. We found multiple items (plastic case for a toy and a cup, on the bottom.
Unfortunately the hot tub wasn’t working but we were notified before we checked in

We were very disappointed in the level of disrepair of many of the household features that prompted us to rent this site. The BBQ did not work, even after replacing the tank, the pool is murky due to being treated with hydrogen peroxide which was not disclosed and it had hundreds of dead bugs floating (no skimmer provided), the hot tub was inoperative and does not get hot, the sliding door and swing door that accesses the back yard are extremely difficult to open and close. The water pump breaker continues to trip which disrupts water service to the house. They need better instruction on how to change the temperature on the thermostat so we don't have AC while it rains. Sadly, when we called about these issues to iTrip, the management group, we were told they would look into it and get back to us. We never got a return call or a service person any of the 4 times we called. We spent considerable amount of time and expense to arrange this family reunion, with some members coming from the East coast only to learn many of the amenities that were advertised were NOT available. We would like to discuss these issues with an appropriate representative.

We were all impressed with how clean all the rooms were and really happy that the beds and bathrooms were so comfortable. There were so many things to do, although with the family reunion events, we barely had time to enjoy all of the amenities. Highly recommended for a large gathering, especially with plenty of kids.

This was a beautiful, comfortable and spacious house and property. The views are gorgeous and there was lots for everyone to do. It was also very well-supplied. The management team was very responsive and friendly. It was the perfect place for our extended family (3 generations) to stay together. I highly recommend!

Property was great.. pulling up the long driveway and the well manicured lawn looked like out of a book! When we got inside the house was clean but the windows were all fogged up.. the heat was set at 90 degrees! The only issues we had were the ice machine (which I saw in another review) bugs, broken kitchen window which allowed more bugs in and alot of lights out throughout the property. I did reach out to the property management to their response “thank you for letting us know, we can try to get out today to fix or we can fix when we check out. I asked they come that day as we couldn’t even sleep in the master bedroom with all the bugs flying and crawling above the head board and bathroom. We stepped out that afternoon to come home to a bottle of bug spray on the front porch. The kitchen window was still ajar (broken) and the ice machine was not working (we even followed the directions as well as did a google search) so we had to continued to go buy bags of ice. Overall the property was great and we all enjoyed ourselves! Just wished these things were fixed during our stay.. would of rated it a 5 star.

Lovely home for our annual ladies weekend. So many games and activities available (pickle ball, corn hole, air hokey, ping pong) that it inspired an impromptu tournament. Kitchen is nicely stocked and has sharp knives. Beds are comfy. There’s a room on the main floor for those that can’t navigate stairs. Hosts are attentive, and had dish pods and coffee filters delivered same-day when we ran out. Pool wasn’t functional because we visited in fall, but the hot tub was nice. The little cottage is adorable and peaceful. Overall, a great spot to spend some time.

The place is exactly as it says. Quiet and peaceful and lots of activities. We played ping pong and pool and enjoyed the hot tub and large deck with the grill. We saw a piebald deer! A white deer, it was amazing.

Everyone had fun! The game room was awesome, pool was fun and house had plenty of room. The house is starting to feel it’s age in a few areas but overall it’s a great place to stay!

The company seems to be lacking basic maintenance protocols. The broken electric blind mentioned in another review was still broken during our stay.
Worse than the blinds was pool. The water was very low and cloudy. Two staff were leaving when we arrived but apparently did not check it. We had to wait until noon the next day for their maintenance worker to asses it. Because of the chemicals he used we couldn't swim for 3 more hours. 24 hours after check-in and 1/3 of our total stay we couldn't use a major amenity.
Then the last night of our stay we lost power and the backup generator failed to kick in. When we checked the it we could see an obvious error light. We had to wait 3 hours for a staff member to come out. In the mean time the sun had set, there was only one flashlight and it's battery was getting low. We had an elderly relative with poor vision and we were concerned about staying in a house with no light and no temperature control. So we packed up while we could still see just in case we had to leave that night.
Both of the generator and the pool should have been part of their routine checks and maintenance. I know, I used to own a hotel. It shouldn't be up to the guests to find the issues.
When we asked them to refund part of our costs as these issues were preventable and affected our enjoyment of the property - their answer was essentially NO "but we were happy to help create a resolution for both."
This is not the "5 star service" they hype up.

This home is incredible! From the comfortable beds, to the swimming pool and large gathering spaces, this was the perfect home for our family get together. There wasn’t anything that we were missing. Would definitely recommend this home to everyone!

We sincerely enjoyed our stay. The house is very nice with no shortage of activities. Only opportunities for improvement were that the grill was jammed (fixed by manager while we were there) and a good number of yellow jackets, which swarmed us outside.

We stayed at Oak Rise for a team bonding trip for a Varsity Cheer Team. Everything was wonderful. Any issue that came up was immediately responded to by management. They were very accommodating and very easy to deal with. Everyone was kind and professional. Would stay here again.

The property has everything to keep all ages entertained. We loved the place but do have a few suggestions to mention.
Google maps did not have the correct turn off the highway. The house was 81 degrees when we checked in. The motorized blinds were in the up position and the a/c was off. It took five hours to cool the house down once we turned the a/c on. Directions for the motorized blinds and their remotes would be helpful. The remote for the blinds in the kitchen nook was missing a battery. Directions for the ice maker would also be helpful. We also had a neighboring cat hanging around and coming in the house when he was quick enough to make it through the open door. The cat was friendly enough but caused some concern when one of our party arrived with a dog.

Beautiful mansion in 84 acres of mainly oak trees. Mom’s 90th birthday. Great gathering place. Not ADA accessible but Mom could enter house with some assistance. Many amenities including heated pool, hot tub, basketball court, air hockey. Lots of seating inside house and outdoors. Very nice showers but none have grab bars. Recommend extra fridge and freezer in the garage be added by owners.

We had a great stay! We were a family of 13 there to support our cousin in her last game at Western Oregon (15 min away). It was the closest house we could find near the school big enough to accommodate us and it was perfect! Check in was easy & we got to check in a little early. The second day snowed and we played in the enormous yard all day. We’re not familiar driving in snow so we opted to staying in and the game room, pool table, hot tub, large living room & kitchen kept us occupied for hours. If you’re traveling with a large group, this is definitely a great option!

So much fun for young and old. Besides our family, two old friends came. They were both in our wedding 60 years ago. We had such a good time reliving our youth. Thank you for providing such a lovely setting for our celebration. The grandchildren especially enjoyed the pool table. My friends liked having the cottage to slip away to when they needed rest. We loved the property! Had a huge family group! The kitchen net every need… placed for all guests to sleep+some unexpected! Enough room for all the family to get together and spend family time. The house is beautiful, spacious , and well equipped. We rested well on the comfortable beds and enjoyed cooking in the kitchen
There was ample room in the backyard for the grandkids to play and run off their energy. Inside and out, there are possibilities for play.
There is only one reason I am giving this property a 4 instead of a 5. There was a broken patio door with a “ do not use this door” sign taped to it. This was no problem as there are many way to get in the house.
It did end up being a big issue! There were hundreds of box elder bugs and potato bugs outdoors and unfortunately, the poor seals on the doors in the living room meant there were many that made their way into the house. Dead bugs in the windows every morning and others crawling on floors and sofa pillows.
Fortunately , they were mostly on the ground floor and not the sleeping areas.
If that issue could be addressed, this would be a perfect 5 and we would gladly visit again!

Our group of 16 friends has been meeting every summer for 12 years. We have been to Bend, OR and Packwood, WA. When the forest fires forced us to cancel this year we were scrambling and so happy to have found this remarkable house and property. It is very different from where we normally stay, but there was something for everyone with the pool, rec room, hot tub and overall property to enjoy. The house was very clean, host was super responsive to questions and overall we would heartily recommend it for larger gatherings.

Being VRBO owners ourselves, we tend to be extremely critical of most rentals we encounter. This home did NOT disappoint. The house was extremely well appointed with virtually any necessary kitchen, bedroom or miscellaneous amenity you can imagine. Beds were very comfortable, house was spacious, grounds were exceedingly well groomed. We did experience some minor problems with the Internet. These types of things simply happen occasionally and are to be perhaps be somewhat expected. What was memorable was how quickly the management company responded and then followed up to resolve the problem. The service was fantastic.
We couldn't have been more pleased. We highly recommend this property.

Oak Rise
What a fantastic property. We stayed with 3 families for a baseball tournament in Independence and the kids did not want tot leave! The house was beautiful, clean and well stocked. The outdoors was filled with fun. Pool, basketball, corn hole not to mention the pool table inside. All in all, we loved the house and would rent it again!
