This property made me fall in love with the desert! Check in was seamless, Skip and Monica even let us check in early at no charge. The location of the property is great & neighborhood is very quiet, food & anything else you need is less than 10 min drive. The house was luxurious: immaculately clean, AC worked great, comfortable beds, the master bathroom was LOVELY. The interior design was tasteful. The layout of the house was well thought out, loved that the master bed, the living room, and the sitting area all had doors leading to the pool. The pool was the highlight - my family spent the majority of our time in the pool and hot tub. Huge back yard perfect for our dogs to run around. There was a nice shady area in the back, which was great because even during the heat of the day our dogs had somewhere to go that wouldn’t hurt their paws. The view from the back yard was breath taking. Loved doing yoga in the early morning out back - it was soo peaceful and relaxing. At night we saw the largest shooting star I have ever seen! It lit up the whole night sky for over a minute, my family and I were stunned. Such a wonderful getaway. Needless to say we did not want to leave!

This trip was comprised of 8 well traveled women and this was undoubtedly the most incredible vacation home we have ever stayed in! The house was immaculate in every facet. Being able to jump in the pool after coming home from hiking Joshua Tree to watching a movie on their cozy couch, all 8 of us could have stayed here forever. If you’re looking for a desert getaway that feels like home, this is it! Skip and Monica were amazing. I cannot wait to come back one day!

Absolutely perfect for our family vacation. The house is meticulously maintained and clean. Everything is available from bathroom and kitchen supplies to even hats for hiking. Spa area is perfect to cool down the heat or relax under the stars. Absolutely quiet location with opportunities to see quails, roadrunners, lizards directly on the property. Hosts are very responsive. We would return any time.

This property is well located on the end of a cul-de-sac near the border of Joshua Tree National Park. The house is very well maintained and the owners obviously take pride in offering a great experience for their visitors. The bedrooms and baths are clean, comfortable and well equipped
The kitchen is open to a sitting area and the barbecue is just outside the kitchen door. Outside we enjoyed use of the pool and spa and looked at the night sky while sitting by the fire ring.
Skip and Monica are great hosts and we highly recommend this property!

This is a great place to stay. Very clean throughout entire home and property. Lots of amenities to use and enjoy. We loved relaxing by the pool. Great communication with hosts - quick responses. Would definitely recommend for a Joshua Tree experience.

This VRBO was amazing! It had everything we could've needed, even extras like spices and dog bowls. The hot tub was the perfect way to unwind at night, with incredible star views. Plus, the location was super convenient to hikes and yummy food. We'd definitely stay here again!

This property has it all! We were there for my daughter’s wedding at Sacred Sands and it was centrally located to everything we needed. We had the pool heated and it was used all the time by family. The views were beautiful and the home was perfect!! We will be back!

My husband and I stayed here with our two young adult children and it was a perfect spot to start our Joshua Tree adventures. The hosts were very responsive to questions before arrival and offered additional tips to enjoy both the home and the area.
The house is beautiful and so comfortable. We quickly felt right at home and every time I looked for something I needed it was easily found. The kitchen is well-appointed and we made good use of it and enjoyed most meals together at the house instead of out. There are great spaces to gather but also plenty of room to spread out and have a bit of privacy. All of us found the beds comfortable and really enjoyed the great room (living room).
The backyard was fun to explore and offered beautiful sunrise and sunset views. The hot tub was frequently enjoyed and was a great stargazing spot.
We loved that it felt a bit remote, but was just a quick trip to town and to the park. Everything was spotlessly clean and really offered all of the little things one could want in a getaway. Thank you, Skip & Monica, for being wonderful hosts and maintaining such a beautiful home for others to enjoy.

Amazing home with everything a group needs to function and have fun. We were a family of eight, from 18 to 82 and all of us were thrilled to share Thanksgiving 2023 here. Owners have created an oasis in Yucca Valley. This is a home with lots to do, spa, pool, games. Well appointed kitchen and bathrooms. Equipped with everything to make your stay perfect. Great communication with owners.

My girlfriends and I go on a trip every fall for the last 22 years. This was the best rental ever! Location, the accommodations, all the amenities! These hosts thought of everything! Great decor, comfy beds and linens, walking distance to some amazing trails, and a shorty drive to JT national park. The pool and spa were fantastic. We spent a lot of time enjoying the spectacular backyard. Don’t hesitate renting this one. It was better than we could have imagined. Thank you Skip and Monica for making our trip one we will never forget. You’ve set the bar sky high!!

The entire house was clean and well organized. Friendly reminders throughout, without being overbearing about the rules. The location is fantastic. Its close to everything in Joshua Tree, yet you feel isolated and can be at peace with the beauty and magic of the desert landscape. The pool and hottub are a great refuge after a long day hitting the local trails.
Overall, one of the best, if not the best property's we have stayed at in the world.

My family really enjoyed this house, the rooms are spacious, loved the motion sensor night lights around the house as well - no tripping over things in the dark here! We were able to cook nice meals, swim, lots of relaxing and soaking in the views from the backyard and out the bedroom windows. Not a single complaint.

We were in awe of this beautiful home. Very well stocked with everything you need, just supply your own groceries. Wonderful communication with owner. We felt very safe in our desert oasis. If we ever want to visit again we wouldn’t hesitate staying in this home again or trying one of Skip and Monica’s other properties.

We've stayed at a wide variety of VRBO's, in every sense of the word. I was so impressed with this one that I had to think about how best to sum it up. More than just staying at a nice rental, it really felt like staying at a friend's vacation home. Well equipped with actual nice things, with good kitchen knives for example, not cheap rental-quality knives. Thoughtful touches everywhere that you'd do if you were actually living there. And a great location, with the desert right out the door. Highly recommend Skip & Monica's property.

Truly an exquisite home! The house was spotless, and so well appointed. The layout was perfect for 2 families traveling together. Everyone had their own space when needed and the gathering areas for playing games and being together were so comfortable. The location is a very short walk to some great hikes. The pool and jacuzzi were clean, warm and inviting and seemed brand new! The owners Skip and Monica were easy to reach and lovely to communicate with. The only thing we would have changed about our stay is the length! We wish we had booked more time to enjoy this lovely VRBO! Thank you Skip and Monica for a very memorable getaway!

We booked this beautiful home for only 2 nights and were sad to not have had more time to enjoy it. Rooms were bright and spacious, had lovely desert views too. Kitchen had everything to make a nice meal. Really loved having the den/family room off the kitchen, as well as the grill just outside the kitchen door. Main living area was wonderful, very cool dome let in natural light. Heated pool and spa were definitely highlights for the younger people in the group! Would recommend this house in a heartbeat!

We were looking for a house that could accommodate our whole family and this definitely fits the bill. We thoroughly enjoyed having it all to ourselves. Having never been to this part of the country it’s a great location that encourages exploration all day with the reward of the spa/pool ready and waiting. Highly recommended

We had a great time at Skip and Monica's place. The house and amenities are so nice it was difficult for us to leave. The well stocked kitchen allowed us to cook for ourselves and make big family meals. We used the heated pool and hottub almost everyday, even with the chilly and windy weather. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms were were spacious, clean and so nicely decorated. It was a great size for our group of 7! The property was large and felt very private.
The location is well located allowing us to visit Joshua Tree Park, Pioneer Town, and even get to Palm Springs in a reasonable amount of time. There are also hikes within walking distance of the home. Would love to come back!!!

We loved this house! Communication with the owners, cleanliness, and attention to detail was spot on. The place was extremely comfortable for our family of 5. From the pool, spa, outdoor games and fireplace to the cozy living rooms inside we really were able to recharge after day hikes in Joshua Tree NP. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good place to stay while visiting Joshua Tree. We would also stay here again if we decided to visit the area in the future!

Property is right on the edge of the desert with easy access to Joshua Tree Park. The home itself seemed bigger in person than in the pictures. So great that all 6 adults got to sleep in very comfortable king size beds! We all spent time everyday in the heated pool and hot tub which was nice given the outside temperature was unseasonably cool. Thanks so much Monica and Skip, we really enjoyed ourselves!

Black Rock Luxury Lodge is a truly spectacular house in a fantastic location, with every amenity you need! To say the backyard is epic is an understatement; what an amazing hot tub and pool, perfect for star gazing and relaxing. The private yard is massive with its own Joshua Trees and landscaping making it feel like you are in the park itself. The house is beautifully appointed but also so very, very comfortable, extremely spacious yet cozy. The beds and linens are so comfortable they leave you well rested and ready to explore all the area has to offer. The house is in a nice quiet area that is close to everything you would want to do and see while there; a quick jaunt to Pioneer Town, right close to Joshua Tree and everything in between. The hosts Monica and Skip have left lots of information about the area and the house - the best we have encountered; no guessing about how anything works and spot on suggestions about what to see and do in the area. If we could give this house 6 stars we would. We very much wish we could have stayed longer and hope to be back next year! No need to look any further at any other options this house is top notch!

The house was perfect for our stay. There was plenty of room and different spaces to congregate, eat, and relax. The firepit was awesome for the evening cold and then the great room was very comfortable. Communication with the owners was great and they made the stay even better with on-site directions and instructions. The house is right next to a hiking trail and Joshua Trees right out the windows. Great place to enjoy being with family and friends.

This was our first time staying near Joshua tree, and this house did not disappoint! The house is in super driving distance to the park — my husband and I even went on a bike ride from the house and reached the park in very little time. The house is very well stocked with supplies in the kitchen and board games for nights spent in. The kids also loved their time in the pool and hot tub. And of course the fire pit was great for s’mores and star gazing at night. We can’t wait to go back again!

What a find this was! The house itself is truly stunning: spacious, luminous, tastefully decorated, equipped with highest-grade furnishings and appliances throughout.. and that's before you even step out into the huge, secluded back yard to take in the beautiful scenery and relax by the pool and firepit. Located a short drive away from the park entrance and major shopping plazas it really proved an ideal, idyllic base for recharging after exploring Joshua Tree during the day and will irreparably spoil our expectations of a holiday home for the foreseeable future.

This house was perfect for our family group of 7, all adults. Great location up against Black Rock Campground. Kitchen was well stocked and easy to work in. Many places to sit and relax. Comfortable beds. Delicious swimming pool and spa, outdoor games, indoor games, TV's, etc. Highly recommend!

The house is in a great area if you are looking to go into The National park. It’s just around the corner from Black Rock, a 10 mins drive to the West entrance. The home is set up so nice, everything is labeled and east to use or find. Cleaning it up to leave is a breeze, plenty of TV’s everywhere, there is room for everyone and being that it was recently remolded it is so nice. I will be coming back again to this home. The hosts are amazing.
