Our stay was the week after Hurricane Beryl. Owner advsd that the home was currently w/out power; but the house had minimal damage & they were hopeful the power would be back on in time for our stay. Around noon on the day of our check-in, the owner advsd that the lights had come back on the day before & they were working to get the property clean. This was not a big deal for us. We were able to get into the house about 40 minutes later; again, not a big deal. There were some simple issues, missing tiles in a shower, a TP holder that fell off, the dryer had to be run 2-3 cycles, ceiling fans that didn’t work/dirty, blinds that needed to be replaced or repaired. But, there were some issues that were more concerning: several of the patio chairs needed to be repaired or replaced. There were nails all over the deck. The direct beach access does NOT actually go to the beach, but, half-way across the dunes. The decking on the front needs to be replaced-there is a board that gives, just as you step out the door of the living room to the deck. The storm damage SHOULD have delayed our stay: The house, wreaked of mold. We eventually found mold on the beach facing walls & door frames, outlets & windows throughout the house. We found a large basket in the living room with throw blankets in it that were soaking wet. The basket had mold on the bottom. The storm damage upstairs was significant. The ceiling was hanging in several places. It was not safe. I do have pictures, unable to upld.

We chose this house due to how big it was and all the beds that it had and its close proximity to the beach. It is a beautiful home and well laid out. There were 19 of us ranging from ages three and up. The house was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. As noted in a few previous negative reviews, yes, one of the coffee pots does not work and probably needs to be thrown away. But there was a lovely coffee pot that ground the coffee and made it fresh. It took a little bit to figure it out but it was worth it. It took a little bit to get the upstairs cool but after the first night the kids said they were fine. The Stand alone fan not work so I would bring a fan. Check in and check out was easy. Communication with the host was easy. I would definitely recommend staying here. Hopefully we can stay again in the future.

I had been texting with Greg up until about 5 days before the trip to rent his golf cart and then he stopped responding to me. Upon our arrival it was very obvious there had just been a large wedding party that had stayed at the house before us. Mounds of trash upon arrival, wedding decorations littered around the property and tape all over the walls from decorations. Vomit stain on the upstairs carpet, bags of dog feces on the patio and around the perimeter of the house, trash juices drug down the entry steps to welcome us. Broken furniture and light fixtures, dirty AC filters. I called and texted Greg to again ask about the golf cart, discuss issues and ask where the grills were located. I was texted by Amanda who works for Greg. She gave me the code to the garage only to find four absolutely trashed grills and a golf cart that had been wrecked. There were blood stains going from the garage to underneath the house. Concerned I called Amanda and was immediately met with an attitude and defensiveness. I explained the issues with the golf cart and she explained that the previous guests messed it up and a replacement golf cart was parked behind it. When told how filthy the house was she explained that there was a wedding party & it stayed way past check out time and they only had an hour or two to clean the property and they tried their best. Said she couldn’t do anything to make it better and well Greg stopped responding. This house is not worth the cost and owners don’t care!

The house had lots of space for our family gathering but it wasn’t as clean as we had hoped. The grills for cooking were disgusting. My husband had to go to Ace Hardware to get stuff to clean one so it could be used. It took him a good hour to get it clean. There were sheets already on the pull out couch that didn’t appear to be clean (had stains). We decided not to use it. Shades were broken in 2 rooms so the sun was beaming in the mornings. The coffee maker had mold in it so we again went to Ace to buy a new one. Many of the prongs on the stairwell were broken which made me nervous for the kids going up and down. Numerous chairs in the home were broken. Lipstick on the toilet when we arrived. A bucket of cigarette butts in the garage. For the amount of money spent on this house, we had hoped for better. It was a great location and had loads of beach towels which was nice.
