Good
That it was clean, and large close to the beach, but not the center of town. Manager was very informative about sights and places to eat and ser.
No air conditioner and mosquitos although all windows had screens. The front screen had an opening where they got in. Other than that all was good

A perfect place in the sun to retreat to.
Excellent location for someone wanting quiet and a truly beautiful beach. The house has style and a joy to live in. The owners were very easily to relate to on practical and friendship levels. I stayed here two weeks and loved it.
Some work on the leaky roof and famp walls is going to be done. when it is this place will be a ten

beautiful in many ways but you have to be prepared for the problems above
Extremely conscientious and available host, easy to contact, helpful with check in, responded quickly, gracious. Location is 2 minutes from a beautiful isolated beach. location is quiet and surrounded by birds and flowers. Sisal is a tiny, out of the way seaside town with good food, beautiful wildlife, and a very peaceful mood. House is spacious, kitchen well stocked. lots of room for a family of 5.
There were enough problems that we wish we had known about beforehand, and we might not have stayed here had we known. We left a day early. Some people might not mind, but there are significant issues with this house. First, the water must be pumped into a tank with a slow and noisy pump which guests have to turn on every time filling is necessary, and the pump has to be watched until overflow. even with very modest use it ran out in 24 hours. Hot water was said to be available but we had no success with the hot water--it requires a 20 minute heater which never worked, and at most provided a 10 second trickle of hot water in only one of the two showers. Cold water low pressure showers at a beach house is a definite negative. We are a family of five. we were given two towels total. When we asked for more our host with some surprise gave us only two more. There is no washing on site and it is a beach house, but no beach towels. No hand towels. no bathmats. No hose outside to rinse sand off feet. Cleaning people were a bit startled when we used one of the towels as a bath mat, perhaps even disapproving. This alone makes for serious problems in a beach house, and was uncomfortable and frustrating. only two of us took showers in two days despite swimming because it was so impossible and unpleasant. Sheets especially on master bed were terrible fit--the fitted sheet immediately comes off the mattress as soon as you lie down on the bed so you spend the night struggling with the sheets and sleeping on a bare mattress eventually. host/house did not provide any fresh drinking water and it was a holiday so we had to do an urgent run to make sure we had enough drinking water not to run out. One bike provided in a house for 5 people, and that bike had flat tires, which we were expected to fill by taking it to a gas station, which we did in the trunk of our car. It's a cheap big house in a lovely place but be aware!

Very good
The landlord, Marta, was really kind and understanding, gave us a lot of nice tips. Location is great, you're on the beach in less than 2 mins. 4 hammocks in the house, and there are additional hooks everyone if you have your own :)
The bathrooms could've been a bit cleaner. We booked for 6 people, but when we got there there were actually just 2 double beds and the other 2 people had to sleep either of an air matress or on the hammocks.

Super peaceful, de-stressing place. Take a book, as there is no tv (thank heavens)
The location is fabulous, the house is very nice, though quite simple. You may not be able to see the sea, but you certainly can hear it, since it is only a block away. Pretty much nothing can be heard otherwise, it is super peaceful. The beach is very nice, and not crowded. There are some nice touches and creature comforts, such as a coffee percolator machine (wish I had brought some ground coffee!), full stove with oven (in case you want to cook), microwave oven, fridge. Very nice garden around the property (for the beach conditions and sandy soil) with lots of almond trees and bougainvillea. The owner/manager, Doña Martha, is absolutely fabulous, super nice and helpful, gave us loads of info - both on the house itself and on the eateries and shops and takeaways (take outs) in the area. Some even deliver, such as Bambino's pizza - where the pizzas are so huge you need to order a small. I definitely would go back. Thank you Doña Martha, we enjoyed our stay (except for our dog's bad behaviour! Next time we'll leave the dog at home.) :-)
The sheets should really be cotton - polyester isn't very comfortable in the hot climate, gets quite sticky. And our bed (a matrimonial) was a bit of a tight fit for us, though that is OUR fault, nobody else's. :-D Too many pizzas recently? :-D Maybe we should have slept in the hammock!
