It was fine , apart from fire alarm going off in middle of the night, and the electricity power cut in the morning. Only stopped one night, i wouldn't want to spend a weeks holiday there. It was clean and the bed was comfortable.

We booked because I was taking part in the Ironman 70.3 and stayed on for the week as a holiday the room had a beautiful sea view and on suite bathroom the bed was comfortable, tea/coffee and kettle was in the room. Only slight drawback quite a few stairs to climb if you are not fit you do get used to them! Staff were always helpful and friendly.

The room we had overlooking the sea was excellent. Bright clean and spacious. Comfy bed and chairs and table to sit in comfort. Easy walking to bus stops and town. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast good value. Entrance a bit dated but the room made up for it.

We booked this room for 4 nights in March 2024. The details published then were not what we experienced when we arrived. No proper restaurant Cooked breakfast or meals within the hotel. The room was not serviced while we there despite requesting it. The furnishings in the Hotel and bedroom was rather sparse and poor quality Generally the staff needs proper training. The common rooms in the hotel were unclean, a make shift arrangement No fire means of escape route was displayed on the door of the bedroom. We would question whether the hotel has a Fire Certificate, if so, we would like to see a copy

I was supposed to be staying in another hotel, but 2 rooms were flooded by a burst pipe and they were full. The manager recommended the Fairhaven. I wish she hadn't. What a dump. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, but my room was dreadful - damp, smelly, uncomfortable bed, tiny room and bathroom, pathetic shower. It was a very last minute booking, but I expected more. There may be some nice rooms, but this certainly wasn't one of them.

Musty smell entering building, looked very basic, room very tiny, curtains not hung properly runners and hooks missing, stains on ceiling , look like had previous leak from above, walls marked, cupboard door paint scraped from bedside unit, not enough room to open door without knocking it. these things were reported to reception on first night. Reasonably clean, but did notice sealant on shower, and hinges to shower doors mouldy. id not report that as nothing done about previous reported items. So far no feed back from them as to weather they did anything about my first report or not. Will not be returning to that Hotel.

Very late check in at 4pm.People are waiting outside all day.Definitely needs to move the time earlier.People come in the morning to spend a day around and that time to check in in very uncomfortable.The toilet flushing worked bad.Room 154.But everything was perfect ,palette stuff ,facilities clean,location great.

Had a lovely time at fairhaven Hotel, I loved that the hotel was right opposite the beach and close to everything you would need ie shops, amenities & amusement, staff was really friendly and helpful and also loved that someone would come in and do room service if you wanted it, would recommend and also would definitely come again.

First thing that hits you is the smell and mould, complains to reception she just said I know. Frightened to touch walls in corridors as dirty and not decorated in years, carpet stained and dirty.room was bland with no soft furnishings not even a picture. We booked for to night but left after one , how this is given a 8.5 rating god knows . Probably the worst place ever stayed. Just shows you can’t trust the ratings on these sites.

The worst family experience in my 50 years. The hotel did not have staff after 9 pm and left customers to their own overnight only for staff to come in the Morning. I arrived late and could not enter the hotel, call the emergency number they left at the door but it was the reception number that no staff was handling because they had gone home. Very deceptive calling themselves a hotel rather than an apartment. Highly unprofessional quack set up in Hotels.com list.

Great location. Property needs some money spent on it, very dated, and the beds/ mattresses were too soft for us. At the bottom on the beds the material has been slashed.

The lad on reception was pleasantly welcoming & very helpful we had a twin room with two different beds at the top of hotel which had the most uncomfortable beds my daughter had ever slept on - all we could feel were the springs digging into us all night which is certainly not ideal for the amount we paid Presumably the high amount that was charged (I even got it cheaper off a last minute site) was because of the location as the sea was just over the road which is great but not if you are only staying one night & have to be out by 10am or else you can pay an extra £20 for late check out at 12 midday we just managed a walk along the beach as went without breakfast (which was not included ) before checking out We mentioned the very uncomfortable beds before leaving & were told that the mattresses were eventually being changed alas too late for us to have a comfortable sleep !!!! It’s also quite a walk to park your car & carry your luggage back to hotel as well as no place to park outside as it’s on a meter & no space so not ideal Double rooms may be a lot better

Room was unbareably hot even with air conditioning unit, curtains need to be drawn when room is prepared for next guest. Too hot to sleep. Could hear guest in room above getting out of bed and going to the bathroom during the night. So had a very bad nights sleep. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I would stay again in a different room

Fabulous view from the room. Gorgeous old building with crooked stairs. Hot water wasnt working, wifi was very poor and kept cutting out, aircon wasnt working either, but the staff did sort out the water and aircon, which both worked well when fixed. The staff were great i couldn't fault them. The hotel needs to make more of an effort checking out the faults. And some towel rails in the bathroom would be a great improvement.

The actual building is closed and the rooms were very poor in condition. Were not cleaned at all for the entire stay duration. Expedia booked with breakfast and we still paid for it. Poor service by expedia too

The room was a good size. The Hotel has a Lift which was great as well as a Bar for a drink during the day.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was lovely, in fact it is the best hotel room I have ever had. Comfy bed, table and chairs next to a big window looking out on to the beach 😁 So relaxing and lovely to wake up to. Plenty of space so you don’t feel cramped. The decoration of the room was bright and neutral, no harsh dark colours. Will definitely return!
