About this cabin rental
Exclusively rented on VRBO only.
This cottage is located on Bass River in Grand Cove. Just steps to the waters edge. A Fisherman's and Kayakers Heaven! A wonderful location in the Historic District of South Dennis with it's church bells bellowing across the water, beautiful homes and historic buildings. The cottage was built in the early 1930's, it was one of the first cabins on the shore. As you enter the cabin, the knotty pine walls and hard wood floors welcome you. The living room ceiling is vaulted and the original wood. The living room looks over the Bass River and has amazing sunsets every night. The glass sliding doors bring you to the porch, hot outdoor shower, grill and access to the 185' pier and dock. There is a small beach for launching canoes, kayaks and small fishing boats about 10' away. The living room has an electric fire place, a/c, flat screen tv w cable and internet. The kitchen has everything you should need for preparing meals for your stay. The cabin is located on a acre of land that is shared by 5 cottages. They are a condo association that share the dock, parking, dumpster and public beach.
The large West Dennis Beach is just a quick 5 minutes to the West Dennis Beach. This beach has the warm water from Nantucket Sound, some waves and soft white sand. From the cottage, take a walk to the Breakfast Room for breakfast or lunch, Steamer Trunk's surf stuff shop/ kayak rentals, and The Christmas Tree Shop. An antique shop on the way is always fun to pop into. Location is central to all cape cod has to offer. This property has the use of all amenities at the Yarmouth Country Cabins just 8 minutes away. There is a heated pool, laundry room and bikes to borrow at the cabins. Kayak rentals are nearby to The Outlook Cabin. It is a quaint waterfront cottage with an amazing view and sunsets on the beach every night. Convenient to shopping on Rt.134 at Patriots Square. Cape Cod Rail Trail is one mile from the cottage. There are bikes to rent, parking and one of our favorite restaurants, Morrelle's. The cabin has a dock and beach for fishing and swimming. A 185' dock and boat slip was built Sept '09. Boat slip available with rental for a fee. This cottage has 2 a/c units.
Grand Cove is a Cape Cod Treasure! It is an amazing fishing spot. When the birds come flyin' in..the fish just start jumping! Sit back and enjoy the views of Bass River. This is a no wake zone. Very quiet. Mussels in the sea grass or fresh fish for dinner? Sail, kayak, and swim! Sit back and enjoy the sunset over the water every night from the patio. Light up the Weber grill for an evening fire or BBQ. The gas fireplace in the living room will keep you warm on a chilly Spring or Fall evening. The location of this rental is set in the heart of all that Cape Cod has to offer yet it is quiet and secluded. This is a Cape Cod treasure. A kayak rental (with delivery) of a kayak can make your vacation complete. Walk to the Breakfast Room for Breakfast or Lunch. We hope you will love it here as much as we do!
The Bass River Marina is just a few minutes away if you would like to rent a boat/boat slip for your week.
Grand Cove is a No Wake Zone. Photos of the waterfront are taken from the back door.
Grand Cove is ocean fed salt water. This cove is located on Bass River. Bass River connects to the Nantucket Sound. The water is the temperature of the ocean or a bit warmer and the fishing is bountiful. There is a boat ramp located on Great Wastern Road in Dennis. The ramp is about 8 minutes from the cottage and parking is free. Beaches: Chapin Beach/Mayflower Beach on the Bay side off Rt. 6a is so beautiful at sunset. Pack a picnic dinner. During the day, bring the kids at low tide...the beach goes out for miles with an abundance of tide pools. West Dennis Beach is just 2 miles from the cottage. It has just enough waves. Coastguard Beach: A 40 minute drive, big waves and nature. Seagull Beach in Yarmouth is calm and warm. Only 10 minutes away. Chapin Beach and Mayflower Beach are best experienced w a low tide that leaves a beach of about 3 miles out and tide pools for kids/ toddlers to play in. So fun!
Resturants everywhere and shopping. Be sure to catch a whale watch. Cape Cod is a whales destination to feed before they make the trip down the east coast for the winter.

Nice location. The cottage is near a lot of shops on Main Street and only a few minutes away from fun bars, restaurants and West Dennis beach.
The cottage is definitely outdated, but served its purpose. When I first got there, I vacuumed because there were several large dead bugs and the floor was really sandy. Before I left, I vacuumed again and I think I probably left the place cleaner than when I arrived. The outdoor shower was a nice addition! Water pressure was great, FYI that the cold knob turns on the hot water. The owner came by to say hello and see if we needed anything. Bring water shoes! The oyster shells can be sharp.
The cottage is right on the bay which is nice, so you are only steps from the water. The little beach is a shared public space, just an FYI. The cottage is dog friendly which is nice. My dog loves to swim so it was perfect to be steps from the water, especially at high tide. The area did seem very dog friendly…just be aware a blonde woman pulled up multiple times a day and let her off leash unruly Belgian Malinois run around and run into the water and around the cottages. The dog did NOT listen to the owner, growled at my husband and definitely made my dog nervous! He had no leash or collar and was very large. Just something to look out for.

Could use some rethinking about the interior. The exterior needs better stepping and access into the building as we were our elderly people. It was not an easy entry. Cushioning inconsistent for the outdoor furniture and could be refreshed. Disappointed that the water quality was not what we really would have liked to dunk ourselves in while at the property. The view was excellent however we did enjoy our stay.

Quaint, simple and refreshing stay. The cabin is small but has everything you need. Perfect for 1-2 people and a pet. We loved the mini beach steps away from the cabin. Had a lovely time!

Cozy little beach cottage. Majestic sunset. Great location. Could use a little sprucing up but for the price it was exactly what we needed. Note to owner-VCR was missing cables to connect to TV.

Way below our expectations, photos are deceptively staged, the place is 100 years old and it shows every one of those years. The whole bathroom smelled of urine. Absolutely the worst place ever. Needs to be torn down and replaced.

A cute cottage on the water. The screened in porch was great for morning coffee and reading. Only drawback was a condo directly behind that had a loud party the first night. They left shortly after and all was quiet. A few people set out on kayaks that went directly by, but otherwise we had a nice time.

It’s so easy to slip away into a completely sublime state of mind. As soon as you walk into this simple rustic seaside shanty style cottage. It brings you right back in time to a simpler time. It’s not a fancy or luxurious cottage or condo. It is a trip back in time to the American glory days when everyone could acquire a little piece of pie. Whether it was originally a families summer camp, or a fisherman’s hand built heavenly haven. It still holds the powerful magic of a time long past ours. A nearly extinct remnant of the history that brought us the luxuries we take for granted today.
There is everything you need to be comfortable simply. Full size refrigerator, small gas stove, microwave and full size grind n brew coffee pot. All the basic cookware, silverware and dishes you need. The full bathroom with a small standing shower is a bit lacking due to its restricting space limits and limited hot water, but it does the job just fine. The outdoor shower has minimal water pressure but makes up for the limited hot water indoors. Plan to shave your legs and hair there. The queen bed is very comfortable. The living room furniture is worn and not the most comfortable, but clean and efficient.
Considering the proximity to the water and sand, maintaining anything more valuable would be silly. Keeping the sand out is fully unattainable especially with a teen and a dog. Being able to relax and not worry about it ruining nice furniture is essential in this beachside environment.

pretty much as advertised except there really is no beach to speak of and the kayak paddle was broken. Kitchen door was broken and the place could use a good scrapping and painting and window repairs without affecting the rustic look. great outdoor shower! Enjoyed the screened in porch. bed was very comfortable.

First, the location on the Cape is great. Easy to get to all the various towns along Route 28. Second, the interior of the house looks better than in the VRBO photos as the rooms are painted a soft white and some of the furniture is updated. Continuing, the VIEWS are beautiful! The sunsets are more beautiful than the photos reflect. And, the wildlife you ask? We saw bunnies, cranes, a bazillion little crabs that disappeared when we walked on the sand. Finally, the tiny beach is adorable. Swimming is better at high tide, but floating on floats was fun at both tides. If you’re looking for a restful place, this is it.

What a wonderful spot, nestled literally on the bank of the Grand Cove and the Bass River. Walked out the door no more than ten feet from the water (which was at least 65*). Fishing, Kayaking, swimming, crabbing everything you would want in a get away vacation. Audrey and Jerry were great hosts. Need anything BAMB she was right on top of things. We will be going back hopefully later in the summer. There for a week felt like a month!!

As described, an older small cabin but comfy with great views. Water comes up to the cabin so we watched all kinds of crabs, fish, lots of birds, etc . Good swimming too. Close to restaurants. Pre-summer so not to crowded in the area. Had a great time.

We were hardly roughing it in this shabby-sheek cabin! Nice flat screen tv and fresh-grind coffee maker. Bright and warm, even when October nights were cold.

Property was as advertised . We would stay again .The views would never get old.

The location of this cottage is ideal for kayaking with a beautiful view of the cove. It is an old building and quite rundown. With a few minor repairs and quite a few updates and additional amenities it would be a lovely place to stay.

Pros: unobstructed view of water, great sunset, quiet, peaceful, close to everything, communication with owner.
Cons: very small, uneven squeaky floors and bed, could be cleaner, need updated electrical outlet cuz mine kept falling off, shower stall too small.

The flexibility of being able to postpone from September was great. Rustic but comfortable with awesome view! Outside shower wasn’t working and back neighbors loud😞

Would love to come again.

Very nice, clean cabin, perfect for the two of us and our dog. Great neighborhood. The homeowner/property manager was very slow to respond. There were a ton of rules which I understand but nothing about check in or check out. That’s the only negative I have for the place.

This property is just what my husband and I were looking for, a peaceful cottage right on the water. Plus, we were able to bring our dog.

This was a really cute, well-located beach cottage. Seems like they recently painted the interior, so the decor is brighter and beachier than in the listing pictures. River beach is shallow enough to wade out and swim. Definitely warmer than the sound or the ocean! Water is clean. Would warn that the bathroom is very small even though it's clean and totally functional. Was difficult to lean over and shave my legs lol but the outdoor shower (with warm water!) is roomier. It was just the two of us and we found the sunsets on the screened-in porch very romantic. I think you could fit a pack and play in the living room area if you had a small child, but wouldn't recommend it for more than two adults. Would love to stay again!

This cottage is truly rustic but very cute and has everything that you need. My husband and I are both disabled seniors, but as others know, our minds are still young. It was a hard trip as my husband cannot help in carrying items and because of medical issues, we have a large oxygen concentrator. We had to cut our stay short because due to these issues this trip was just not a good fit for us.
I LOVED the view, and even though it rained and got cold, I enjoyed being able to look at the water. It felt like we were on the bay because of the tides. This place is PERFECT for those who want to jump outside and kayak away. I WISH I could still do that!!!! I would recommend this place for those who want to be outside in nature and it is truly a Kayakers dream!! Oh to be young again!
The manager is very responsive and I have to add that she refunded some of our money because we had to leave early due to medical reasons... I didn't even ask... Audrey was great!! Thank you so much!

Location and outside views , wild life and fishing make this place.
I would definitely go back. Down sides are the grill was unusable. It needs to be replaced. Some windows, screens and doors need to be replaced. No issue for us but may be a problem for some in the summer? Kitchen would be hard to cook. again since we were not cooking no problem. All in the cove location is not to be missed!

MY SON NEEDED A QUIET PLACE TO STAY AND GET SOME WORK DONE (HE IS GETTING HIS MASTERS AT WILLIAMS COLLEGE) AND WE HAD COMPANY SUCH THAT OUR HOME WAS A LITTLE BUSY ... SO WE BOOKED THIS STAY JUST 5 MINUTES FROM OUR HOME .. AND IT WAS PERFECT. QUIET. COZY. SERENE. GREAT VIEW OF THE WATER. AND HE HAD ONE OF OUR DOGS STAY WITH HIM FOR COMPANY!

No problems renting. Cute little cottage right on Grand cove.

The cottage is small...but perfect for 2 + pet...kitchen, bath and bedroom tight but immaculately clean. This is a rustic cabin but has everything you need. The location is beautiful. Loved our day trips to other parts of the cape but spending time spashing around in the cove, fishing, relaxing, bbqing, taking photos was the best part. Our 11 yr old lab mix was in heaven.
4.0 / 10.0
The view is amazing!!!!! We enjoyed dinning on the screened in porch. The local bakeries and cafes were COVID friendly. We loved savoring our breakfast while inhaling the sea air. At night we had a million dollar view in a romantic setting as we dinned under tiny white lights. Romantic! I categorized the house as a Beach Shack in a Hallmark or Nicholas Sparks movie. We loved all the wildlife outside the our front steps. We enjoyed watching the seals catching fish; the crabs scurrying around; and the birds diving in for their morning catch. The location is great for day trips!
