About this house rental

Central heating and AC added in 2016. Nest 2nd Generation WiFi enabled thermostat. Fast internet. The oven and microwave are new. The refrigerator is an older GE model. Amazing views at a reasonable price.

Pets: We do sometimes accommodate dogs that are well-behaved. we are very allergic to cats unfortunately so we do not host them.
Note: Property may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. (E.g., my mother who has severe osteoarthritis cannot navigate the stairs.)

1200 square foot home with 2 bedrooms and fantastic ocean view (Point Dume). We live next door and want you to be relaxed and happy.There is a small master bedroom with a queen size bed and second bedroom with a full size bed. Both are high quality mattresses (Restonic (full) & Royal Pedic of Beverly Hills (master)).If you really need an extra bed (more than the two I have there), you can request that I leave you an airbed (twin) for one more person to use.There are 2 bathrooms. The master bathroom has a large shower area which was redone more recently. The other bathroom and sink area in the master are from an older era.The kitchen is simple. There is a new LG gas oven/stove and a Bosch dishwasher. Both have been recently checked and serviced. Dishes, Cuisinart pots and pans, a coffee maker, olive oil, vinegar and some other supplies are stocked. do not be surprised if there is food in the house because our family Lee often visits and over buys. We are always happy to have our guests use anything that’s been left there. For example, right now I have an over abundance of frozen fruit that can be used for smoothies.

We are in the El Nido area of Corral Canyon which 1.6 miles above PCH and Solstice Canyon park and 3.9 miles from Pepperdine. Our neighborhood is very friendly. You should definitely walk through Solstice Canyon Park and consider going to the very top of Corral Canyon, as well. Our house is not far from Malibu Seafood which has the freshest fish in town.

You can eat there or purchase fish to grill at the house on the gas BBQ which is outside on the back deck. You will enjoy eating in the house with the french doors open to admire our amazing views of Point Dume and the coastline.I have some lounge chairs on the deck where you also can relax and have a glass of wine or do some yoga.This is a cozy and comfortable low key house with a spectacular view. Please visit us!

My main living area has mostly mid-century furniture: Maharam's Eames dot fabric is on the dining chairs and the red chair in living room is upholstered with Knoll Arno Pomegranate fabric. We have also decided to add some lovely cream colored drapes adjacent to the french doors. We found with one of our prior guests who traveled with curtains that this really increased energy efficiency - the drapes keep the home cooler when the weather is hot and also keep the home warmer when the weather is cool.

Notice to those who want to make an offer concerning a long term tenancy (considered to be at least 31 days). We like to customize our home based on the tenant. So, if we know what you need, you can change around furniture and take a look at other options that might suit your stay. Please move all furniture back before you leave as it is hard for my maid to do it.

Cool, vintage 2BR/2BA home in great neighborhood in mountains above Malibu. Quiet location, comfortable beds, onsite laundry, fully stocked kitchen. Everything you need for a relaxing stay in Malibu. We would definitely stay here again!

First of all Meredith is more than a Host- she truly go above and beyond to welcome you into their stunning home overlooking the pacific, this place was one of the best things in our trip, the most wonderful relaxing place with stunning views, beautiful sunsets, super easy to get to the beach, very clean, comfortables beds, bathrooms super nice, well equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook your own meals, super nice balcony with unique views, this place is first class in every aspect, the stay had everything we needed and more, would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable vacation!!!

This home is such a gem! A beautiful MCM house in the mountains with wonderful views and a short drive to many beaches. The house was clean and beautiful. The hosts couldn't have been any nicer and gave great suggestions on local places to visit. We can't wait to go back! Thanks!

This lovely home is tucked high up in a canyon. It overlooks the ocean and hills: such stunning views! It is about 12 minutes away from Pepperdine, and about a 2 mile drive up a steep hill from the Pacific Coast Highway. Meredith is a warm and gracious host. I had planned a family party at the home, after my daughter's graduation. She checked in multiple times to make sure she would have everything I needed. I very much appreciated Meredith's kindness. I would definitely recommend this home.

this property is a beautiful location! It is a hike up a ‘hill’ and tough to get an uber but was able to get a lyft so rent a car and enjoy the sights of malibu!! we did an electric bike ride at a park up the hill which was awesome! the rental itself is cute and perfect little getaway with a 60’s/70’s feel. keep doors close so you don’t get bugs though!!

The house is easy to access from the Pacific Coast Highway with private parking and is close to dining, groceries and outdoor activities. While the finishes of the house are a bit dated it is very comfortable and functional Residence. Make sure to read carefully and download or print access instructions while you have access to the internet. Cell service may be limited at the house. Fortunately a kind neighbor put us in touch with the owner who lives nearby. It was a perfect place for us.

We enjoyed our stay here in Malibu. The location was great, close to the beaches, and the view was amazing! Margaret was excellent with her communication and really wanted to make sure we had what we needed. The kitchen is fully stocked, just like at home, so you can pack food to go (bring your own cooler) for a day at the beach. Comfortable and clean beds. At night, we enjoyed the internet and TV streaming services. Would definitely recommend staying here as you have all the comforts of home with a beautiful view and kind hosts.

I assumed that the property owner would be present when arrived. There was no info on the VRBO site about arrival protocols. After a long transatlantic flight I was not happy to find the place locked with no-one present to help. I spoke to neighbours who were very helpful and I eventually spoke to the owner. She was apologetic and said she thought I had made the booking via a site I am not allowed to name which would have had all instructions regarding arrival. So who is at fault - me for not double checking before departure, the property owner for not providing me with bespoke arrival instructions or VRBO for having inadequate facilities to inform guests about the property. I leave the reader to judge. And now to the property. The daily rate was expensive for this property. It is badly in need of refurbishment and a lick of paint. On the upside, there are nice views from the balcony and the beds are comfortable. Would I come back to this property? Not at the quoted price. Would I use VRBO again? No, not until their interface is comparable to another site I am not allowed to name

Frank and Meredith provided beautiful accommodations and wonderful hospitality. This home is light and bright and very comfortable. I looked forward to relaxing on the deck or in the living room while enjoying an expansive and beautiful view of the ocean. I would definitely stay here again and hope to soon. The house is extremely comfortable et very well equipped. Beds are great, the kitchen has everything I needed for cooking and I appreciated finding basic grocery items int the cabinets. No need to hurry for shopping. The location is perfect, the view outstanding and despite the chilly air we could enjoy resting and reading on the deck. It is perfect for a Californian weekend. Restaurants and seafood market are near. And I guess the pleasure must be even greater if you have the time to stay longer. Meredith is a very nice landlord. Very concerned that everything goes right and very much caring for our needs. I strongly recommend the place.

I was attending a conference at Pepperdine, 10 minutes away. A very convenient escape from LA and the world into the hills. No cell service but good wifi. Hot and stuffy inside so I left the door open at night. Highly recommend.
