Experience the city's reputation as "sailing capital of the world" for yourself — take a leisurely sailing tour of Newport Harbor and maybe even a lesson. Thames Street offers great shopping with a split personality: national brands in Upper Thames; more eclectic shops in Lower Thames. Any time you visit the "City by the Sea," there's bound to be a music festival (from folk and pop to jazz and chamber music) or themed celebration — starting with the Newport Winter Festival, Spring Boat Show, Great Chowder Cook-Off, Black Ships Festival and more, closing with Oktoberfest and the Annual Christmas in Newport, when the mansions are decorated for the holidays.

The resort assigns the specific unit around the time of check-in so your view may vary. We had a great stay at the Newport Wyndham. Property was as listed and very nice. My four sisters and my sister in law had a wonderful stay. Giovanni checked us in and made sure we knew everything we needed to about the amenities. She gave us an early check in (thank you!!) and was very sweet. We could walk to everything "Newport" and really enjoyed the property and room. We did not use the pool or gym but checked them out and found them to be clean and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again.

We did not utilize all the amenities but the room was large and comfortable. There are scent spraying machines in the hallways that filled them as well as the rooms with an overpowering citrus scent that unfortunately remains in our luggage even now that we are home. This property should not be allowed to be rented as a VRBO property. It is basically a hotel that has a kitchen with dishes and small plastic disposable salt and pepper shakers. My experience with VRBO in the past is more of a home that has a stocked kitchen. Also, to have to pay the VRBO fees is ludicrous given that this was a hotel with its own dishonest housekeeping staff. Twenty minutes after we checked out I called the property to let them know I had left my rapid charger plugged into an outlet in the master bedroom. They said they would check with house keeping and call me back. They called back to say there was nothing there, which I know not to be the case. I would not recommend this property as a VRBO option to anyone.

We were guests for a spectacular wedding on the water and couldn’t think of a better property to stay at. I have stayed at the Long Wharf before, but my friends haven’t and were a bit skeptical. Everyone loved it and it’s even better than I remembered.

This resort was the perfect Newport location! The access to pools, hot tubs, the gym and the theater were great features! The resort staff were very friendly and attentive. In our room it seemed like maybe the air filters needed to be changed. The room smelled greasy and there was grease on the walls and cabinets. We did have a great time though!

Our group of 6 adults had a great stay at the resort. The unit was very spacious and the location was excellent. We walked everywhere downtown. Would love to stay there again!

We rented a three bedroom/two bath unit for our family of five (all adults) there for a wedding. Nothing fancy, but a spacious unit with everything we needed and walking distance to much of Newport. Reasonably priced. We did not use the pool but a couple of us used the workout room which was nice. Would stay there again.

Everything about the resort was a pleasant experience for our group of 8. We had a 3 bedroom suite that was a perfect set up. The only thing I thought was odd, is they charged for the ice cream at the ice cream social. It wasn’t a big deal, but had I known that before getting our ice cream served, I would have gone to one of the major ice cream places around the corner for a better serving and much better ice cream.

Our family of six stayed in the property for a URI graduation. The location in Newport is absolutely amazing, convenient to restaurants and bars, tours, and the bridge to Narragansett. We did not use the kitchen except the fridge to keep leftovers, but the ability to cook is there! It was super convenient to have a washer and dryer in the unit and have two whole bathrooms!! The pools were not properly advertised. They were awesome. They have indoor outdoor access with a spa and then there's a separate outdoor pool. We did not use the movie room but envied the idea of sitting in that cool room and watching The Great Gatsby... And I think it was filmed in Newport! Highly recommend this property and hope to return.

Great location. When we first checked in, the rooms/beds did not match the listing (instead of 2 twin beds in 1 room, there was just 1). The resort had to move us to another room, luckily one was available with that description. The air conditioning was broken for the first 24 hours of our visit, and never worked properly once they claimed it had been fixed (would not get cooler than 75, no matter how long it was on, which made it uncomfortable for sleeping). The fan itself for the AC was incredibly loud - one couple booked a room at the Marriott next door because they couldn't sleep with it. Overall, good space for 6 people - 8 is a stretch since having 2 on pullout in the common area isn't ideal.

Our room was 76-77 degrees the whole 3 days we were there - it was awful - trying to all get ready for rehearsal dinners and wedding and being in a complete sweat is not a vacation- we will never stay there again and I would like a refund

Everything about this resort was perfect for families. Check in super easy. Suites large and included everything you’d need while away from home. Beds were all super comfortable. Activities and the pool were loved by the kids. Convenience of a hotel with the space and amenities of a rental. Would book again!

Beautiful property, every amenity you would want ( coffee maker, kitchen ware,, TV’s, towels for the pool/ hot tub...), extremely comfortable mattresses, short walk to town, excellent location, great support from the property manager with any little issue.

Quick getaway trip. The place was adorable and more than comfortable for 3 couples. Although the pools and amenities were closed for COVID restrictions, we still enjoyed the fresh air and scenery. We could see the ocean and Newport bridge from the upstairs bedrooms. Would definitely book again.
