Find your own lakefront escape at this two-bedroom plus loft home on the shores of Long Pond. This is a retreat for serene relaxation and beautiful days spent out on the water, offering a private dock, a mooring, a great deck, and an outdoor firepit overlooking the lake.

This waterfront home is part of the Wildwood Estates, located on a private lagoon of Long Pond. This spot is often shared with loons, ducks, deer, bald eagles, and some of the best fishing you'll find in the cleanest water of the seven Belgrade Lakes. The property, a winner of the state's LakeSmart Award, is a short stroll from a private community beach, a playground, and a large, grassy picnic area.

Swim right off your dock with steps leading into the water, or find even easier access on the property in a small cove in the woods. Traverse the lake in only a few minutes by boat to the Belgrade Lakes Village, which embodies quintessential New England charm. Take a beautiful Sunday drive past Castle Island to find a farmers market in Belgrade, the Great Pond Marina, and Belgrade Lakes Golf Club.

After a day spent hiking or snowmobiling on the Kennebec Highlands Trail, return home to a living space that's been thoughtfully updated while still retaining its classic character. The living room features vaulted ceilings, a woodstove with a towering stone hearth, and a TV with both cable and streaming capability. The living area opens to a dining space for six and a contemporary kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a farm sink, antique copper faucets and hardware, and a designer tile backsplash that captures the colors of nature surrounding you. The kitchen also connects to the back deck, where you can barbecue, use the complete outdoor lobster bake set-up, and dine with a gorgeous view of the lake. Just be sure to look for the family of loons that swim by every evening at 5 pm.

The two bedrooms downstairs include a brand-new primary bedroom wing with a steam shower, a double vanity, and a private water closet in its en suite bathroom. The loft upstairs has been transformed into a child's play area with beds.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

We booked Kamp Kota in March for a college graduation over Memorial Day weekend because local hotels were sold out. Check in was at 4 PM. My husband arrived first at about 4:30 PM on Friday. It is about 0.8 miles off the main road on a very bumpy dirt road, but has a nice view of the lake. The house is rustic and relatively small. He opened up the house and it smelled strongly of insecticide. He started to open windows to air it out (some screens were missing) and noticed that the beds were dirty and unmade, and the bathrooms had not been cleaned. At 4:49 PM, as I was traveling down the dirt entrance road, I received a call from Vacasa and was told that a gas leak had been reported in the house and that we could not stay there. When I arrived at the property, I did not notice any smell of gas, just insecticide. The Vacasa agent was very pleasant, but he had no explanation of why we had not been informed about the problem earlier. The only option he could offer to rebook us was in a smaller house with only one bathroom that was 57 minutes away (according to Waze) and not very close to the college graduation. We asked repeatedly for other options but nothing else was offered. We ended up having to find other accommodation ourselves, not an easy task late in the day on a busy holiday weekend in rural Maine. Our payment was refunded, but no further explanation or apology was offered.

Pet friendly rustic cabin with a great location. Would prefer to deal with owners rather than Vacasa as there were several minor issues not addressed. Gas grill propane tank was empty; multiple light bulbs were not working with no replacements to be found; master bedroom shower did not drain and prior occupants socks were under the master bed. There is no lighting suitable for reading. All too bad as it has great potential.

Comfortable Maine camp with modern updates. Great for our family of 5 adults and 1 dog. Fenced yard was a plus. Long Pond is so beautiful and unspoiled. We saw plenty of loons, ducks, and other birds. Hope to come back again.

Our stay at Kamp Kota was simply perfect. The setting was just what we hoped, which led to days full of swimming, fishing, paddling, and grilling outside. And given some very hot days, it was nice to retreat inside to the air conditioned space. The private, fenced in back yard was a huge bonus for our dog. Thank you for a memorable summer vacation on the lake!

Kamp Kota has a beautiful lakefront view and a wonderfully updated interior. Access to the kayak is great and the kitchen is perfect for making a tasty meal. Our kids loved the modern shower that “looks like a time machine”. For our summertime stay, getting to the cabin was smooth.
