Villa Amistad is a 6-Bedroom villa offering, up to 12 guests, a home away from home conveniently located in the El Cerro/Centro neighborhood in the heart of Puerto Vallarta just steps away from the most sought-after activities and the Romantic Zone. Easily walk to the Malecon, popular bars, beaches, restaurants, art galleries, and nightclubs, yet return to the quiet tropical retreat of the Villa to relax, take in a sunset by the pool or one of several private terraces.
Villa Amistad, a gorgeous blend of Mexican Modern and traditional Vallartan architecture, receives refreshing ocean breezes and gorgeous ocean views thanks to its location on a moderately slopped hillside. Guests are afforded jaw dropping sunsets, a nightly fireworks display, and in the winter months, Humpback Whales splashing about in the Bay!

• The Villa contains many traditional, indigenous, and one-of-a-kind paintings and folk-art pieces, handcrafted Parota wood furniture and doors custom made by local artisans, beautiful Talavera tiles, and pottery.

• The Main Villa is located on 2 floors, the Main Level, and the Top Floor.
o Each level has 3 bedrooms that share an open plan living area with a TV and a full kitchen.
o One bedroom on each floor is also a Master Bedroom with larger bathroom and its own small kitchenette and balcony.
o Full wall-to-wall glass doors, in the living areas, can be opened entirely to create beautiful indoor/outdoor ocean facing, living spaces.
• The Entry Level, below the Main Villa, is where guests enter the property from the street by keyless lock. The private staff apartment, housekeeping, and office area are off limits to guests.

The name Villa Amistad means Villa of Friendship and was redesigned with a modular design allowing the Villa to be rented whole (Villa Amistad-The Entire Place) or as individual apartments from 1 to 3 bedrooms. Each apartment is named after a close friend. Ivan’s Bella Vista and Miguel’s Mirador are located on the Top Level and Jonathan’s Lugar and Curiel’s Retreat are located on the Main Level.

- The Malecon boardwalk - about 4 blocks/5-minute walk.
- Five of the top six restaurants in Puerto Vallarta are within 5 minutes’ walk. Listed in the digital Guidebook.
- Los Muertos Beach and other popular beaches - 10- to 20-minutes’ walk or a short Uber ride away.
- Gay nightlife – Most bars/clubs 10 to 15 minutes’ walk.
- Nowhere in Centro/Romantic Zone is further than 20 to 25 minutes’ walk away. Most restaurants, bars, and galleries are within 5 to 20 minutes’ walk.
- Uber, taxis and other rideshare services are readily available and very inexpensive.
-The hosts reside a block away and are available to offer assistance and answer questions when requested and do not use the main property during the stay but can be found on the property assisting the staff as needed. Having the staff and hosts nearby the guests to receive quick responses to any requests, maintenance issues, or assistance needed during the stay.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD, El Cerro/Centro, is where the small fishing village of Puerto Vallarta was first settled. Its neighbor, the Romantic Zone, is located just to the south below the River Cuale, only a 5 minute walk away. In the Centro area below the Villa, are the Town Hall with the main tourist information office, the main historical church and square, the heart of the Malecon, and the largest night clubs in the city. Walk the Malecon and take in amazing outdoor art. Most of the city’s art galleries and many of the top restaurants in the city are located here, about 5 minutes walking distance. Our small alley where the Villa is located has no traffic and is normally quiet, especially compared to the noise of the Romantic Zone. You will sometimes hear typical city noise or a dog or rooster crowing. We do offer guests ear plugs for light sleepers but, most guests find our street to be relaxing and quiet during their stay. The neighborhood is residential and a wonderful mix of families that have been here for generations, along with expats, snowbirds, and vacationers. During the winter holidays near Christmas, the streets below us are filled with nightly processions, the Dia de Los Muertos decorations and Christmas decorations on the Malecon are just steps away and in May, the Pride Parade runs along the main street along the Malecon only 5 minutes’ walk away. Head out on the town for fun but come back to a quiet retreat away from the noise and bustle. We host many single ladies and men at the villa of all ages and the one thing they tell us is that they feel safe staying here. Many of our neighbors on the street are predominantly single women, gay men, and Mexican families.

CHILDREN AND FAMILIES are welcome, and we have hosted many. We do wish to make sure that parents know that the home is not childproof and there are known hazards including no barricade around the pool, windows without guard rails, drop-offs, and stairs without gates. The Villa also contains many easy to break or damage art pieces that cannot be replaced. Please inquire if you have more questions.

NON REFUNDABLE DAMAGE WAIVER

A small non-refundable Damage Waiver fee of $35USD will be included in the total price of the booking at check-out. This small fee is not based on the days booked and is a one time fee that provides the guest a waiver from financial responsibility for accidental, unintentional damage caused by the guest or their visitor during their stay up to $500USD, as long as the cause of the damage or loss is covered in the terms of the Damage Waiver. A Security Deposit Credit Hold (what most hotels do when they take your credit card information at check-in) is required to protect against loss and/or damage and to ensure that the Property is left in a reasonable condition of cleanliness, and in the same condition of repair as upon arrival. No money is collected and no transactions are created providing the guest with a convenient and simple method of providing the host a Security Deposit. The protection goes beyond the Damage Waiver protection. A hold is created on the Renter's credit card or debit card approximately 24 hours prior to check-in in the amount of the required Security Deposit. Our system instructs the renter's bank to hold the amount of credit or funds (if a debit card) on the card to insure that the money will be available in the event of damages, debts, or losses incurred. The hold is released no later than 7 days after check-out if no money is due the host. As it is not a transaction, the bank will not accrue interest on the hold amount. Our system will automatically attempt to place a credit hold of either 50% of the booking amount or $500USD, whichever amount is greater on the credit card/debit card currently on file at booking. Most guests prefer this simple method, that hotels already do, instead of providing a cash deposit or charging a card and then needing to refund the cash or card charge after check-out. Guests will be required to provide a cash equivalent amount of the Security Deposit in either USD or MXN before being allowed to check-in if a credit hold is not provided.
