Towels had stains and also bed

It was very run down, and poorly maintained. You could access the building from one door only. Everything was cobbled together. Could definitely use some cleaning, or just some pride in the building

For the price, this hotel did its job. It was clean and comfortable. Not high end, but definitely not a dump either. It was in a safe area with lots of things around (dining, shopping, etc).

I had reservations for two nights and lasted all of one hour at the hotel. The first issue was the television not working, which wasn't a big deal. I pick up the room phone to call the front desk and it doesn't work. Fine. I go back to the elevators and notice only one is operational and it took several minutes to go up the three floors.
I finally go to the front desk and explain that neither the television and phone work. While I'm explaining the situation I notice two kids sleeping in the lobby and no adults present. The assistant tells me he will check my room when he can. I go back to my room a different way and notice a pungent smell of cigarette smoke (the hotel is non-smoking).
I get back to my room and use the bathroom while waiting for the assistance to come and fix the television and phone. The bathroom had mold around the tub, so i definitely wasn't going to shower in it. Assistant comes back and can't fix the television or phone.
My daughter and I decide to go out for a bit and she sees a rat. That was the last straw.
I went to the front desk and told them I'm checking out, maybe an hour after I checked in.

Front desk were amazing! When they realized my husband was mobility impaired, they changed out room to a handicapped accessible without our asking. So very nice people!

Old Howard Johnsons. The room was fine and clean. Kind of dingy, outdated lobby. The only unacceptable thing was that we had no hot water for AM showers, and we had an early AM college event so there was no time to call maintenance. I likely wouldn't stay here again.

The location, near Allwood Cemetary, was located near areas of Clifton I wanted to visit and Uber was cheap to those spots. The only real issue with the hotel was the shower was barely warm.

yes, there is a coffee service in the room, but unless you have a scissors, it is impossible to open the packet containing the coffee. The front desk manager Was very helpful on my visit, but the property itself is not something I would ever book again

Bathroom was old and in terrible condition
The shower water valves were stuck and fell off. The bathtub had been painted and glazed so many times that the paint was lifted and peeling everywhere. The property is surrounded by highway and cemetery. Not a pleasant environment

Those beds are really uncomfortable. My body hurts because of the beds. The room needed more lights. The shower needs more shampoo and conditioner or body wash. Since it was included.

Basic budget hotel. Room was clean, but maytress saggy, bathtub peeling paint. No breakfast. Location is literally on Route 3, but rooms are to pretty well sound proofed.

Last minute hotel came through very handy. No hasle, smoothing and fast check in fast. Room was comfortable for the night- but highly recommend changing the carpet it was really moist and smells like mold.

It is well located, but the rooms are not in good condition and they did not clean one of the days. For the price, there were options closer to NYC.
