The Kensington had a high class feel for an affordable price tag. We picked them over other hotels in the area becsuse they had a working pool, hot tub, and sauna. I think they have the largest pool of any hotel in the area... and it was a big and deep pool, but it was too cold of a pool to get to enjoy it very much at all. We knew going into our stay that they also didnt provide any sort of free breakfast. And, this was true. There are bakery items, fruits, and coffee you can purchase for an additional charge.... Been a long time since Ive been to a hotel that didnt atleast serve free coffee and cold continental breakfast of some sort. We only paid $110 out of pocket for our stay, so overall we were pleased with what we got for what was spent.

The staff was not helpful. They promised to call when the room was ready. They never called. We came back at 7:30 and we got a subpar room by the indoor pool on the first floor. After a 7 hour wait for a room you would think the room would be worth it, it was not. The staff never even apologized. The only highlight was the restaurant, it was pricey but worth it.

The Kensington Hotel is an OK place to stay, it's just not as good as you'll expect after going through their website and listing materials. Everything kind of falls short -- and it is your job as the traveler to point it out when the shortfall is more than you're willing to accept. Tiny bathrooms on the first floor and in the guest rooms made it impossible for a wheelchair user to visit. The left elevator kept getting stuck. You won't get greeted at the door with champagne, the way the website shows, but you WILL pay for them to pump coffee out of a big thermos in the morning. You won't get the adults only hour at the pool at 10pm. You WILL get a pool that's overrun with kids at that time. And then those kids will play tag throughout the hallways of the hotel. Never really figured out what was going on with the restaurant. There's a whole long list I could get into here, but these examples are enough. This place needs to up their game.

The stay was excellent. The staff were fabulous. I received a champagne toast on check in. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Honestly the service from the front desk staff was amazing. My only complaint, and it's very minor, is that my main floor room and hall had a very strong chlorine smell, I believe coming from the pool. Otherwise it was amazing.

The hotel staff put me in a first floor room with a floor to ceiling window that looked out at a service walkway. I’m a pretty regular guest here and this was clearly one of the worst rooms in the hotel. The front desk associate assured me that the room was safe. I asked for another room and they reluctantly put me in a second floor room that was a full 2 minute walk from the elevator - which was fine, but they tried to detour me from taking it as “it was quite a long walk”. They did not provide me with a folio and said I needed to retrieve it elsewhere. I stay at this hotel often, but will think twice about booking here again. Incredibly disappointing.

This place is old. Probably nice back in the day, but it needs to be gutted. Full beds are tiny and not for 2 adults. Terrible sleep. There was a larger balcony area off our room. The sliding door was coming off track and it had been painted shut at one point because the paint is stuck to door. Yet they market this space. Staff was very nice. Just need to start over and remodel

We had a wedding reception here 15 years ago. The wall paper and other superficial things have been updated but the overall hotel feels dated. Small rooms and small bathroom. Probably many other better options for the price.

This was such a bad experience! The ceiling in our bathroom was falling inside the room. We had bugs (moths/gnats, etc.) flying around in our room. The beds were very uncomfortable and the pillows were lumpy and flat. When we asked if we could our room credited, they said they could not do that since we booked through Expedia.

We have stayed here before. Always great service. We opted for breakfast in the restaurant this time and won’t miss it again! It was excellent. Good food, reasonably priced in a lovely area. Our servers were extremely pleasant. We come to the area every year for blueberries, apples and new finds. I look forward to next year

We stayed two nights. First night was flawless from check in to waking up. Second night we did not get a “refresh” of our room. It was very disappointing. We were looking forward to that as my friend had surgery that day and it would have been nice to come back to a made bed and some things tidied up with new towels and the old ones taken away. However enjoyed the large pool and the complimentary champagne on arrival.

This was our go to hotel when our child was a student at U of M. A bit overpriced for what you get, but then again, many things in Ann Arbor tend to be overpriced because they have a captive audience.
