Pros: friendly staff, clean, and spacious. Cons: deadbolt didn't work, homeless tents surrounding the entire block outside the hotel, loud fighting happening either down the hall or outside from 4-6 a m. Also, there was an electrical short buzzing in the headboard, so every time I stood up, the lamps came on. When I laid down, the lamps went off. Would have been a cool effect if I didn't worry all night about the bed catching on fire.

I expected a bit more. It was ok facility. We liked having shuttle and used it twice. Staff sure could have been a lot friendlier. The breakfast was average. Location was convenient. We walked to Old Sacramento. A few sidewalks were blocked by homeless. Parakeets in lobby were a nice touch.

We stayed here to attend my nephews graduation from SAC State. We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are outdated but very clean. Staff is friendly too.

Extremely friendly staff. Dated but charming, and very clean.

Hotel lobby was always closed. No "Do not disturb" signs availible, so maid showed up at inconvenient time. Coffee was provided in the morning in the outdoors common area, but there was no signage or information to let guest know. We just came across on out last morning. Would have been nice to know about.

Great service from shuttle pick up at car rental agency to airport drop off! Lovely hotel with very generous "continental" breakfast. Very comfortable beds, quiet hallways, neat and tidy bathrooms with redone showers. Wonderful. Airport shuttle is a super feature!

The check-in was outstanding very very easy to check in the clerks were outstanding then I went to my room and it was nice and clean a great size room. The beds were very comfortable. The continental breakfast in the morning is about the average of all Continental breakfast is, but the food was still good.

We were looking for a no-frills, clean, close to the Sacramento airport hotel, and this property is certainly that. Even though it is an older property, it well maintained and clean- good for our one night stay. Very close to downtown where there are lots of places to eat- would definitely recommend.

It was a good stay loved the beds. The AC worked excellently I loved it.

Great location for a visit to Sacramento. Got early check in so we could visit the Capitol building before it closed. Great rooms and great staff. Basic breakfast.

I dont know where it got its 8.6 rating but its definitely over rated. It was about 100 degrees on our floor there were kids screaming and running down the hall at 8am we heard the people in the drive thru next door all night long elevator doors shut on me as i was entering elevator

We were at the Kellogg Conference Center and hotel for the Tourette’s Association annual conference in DC.
Most of the hotel staff was very nice, but one gentleman at the front desk gave my teenage son a hard time— telling him he couldn’t use the computer because it was for ‘emergencies’ only. My son was part of the Tourette’s conference, he wasn’t bothering anyone, no one was using it, but this guy just wanted to throw his weight around. Not cool. Especially for an annual conference that’s held at that hotel every year.

All good but breakfast was pretty skimpy and they ran out of things. But overall a fine place to stay.

Great hotel, easy access to highway and downtown

At check-in the staff was very friendly and helpful, as they were with any interaction. This is definitely not a fancy hotel but it's nice, it's clean, and it's in a decent area. I will definitely stay there again if I'm in the area.

Good practical place to stay. Close to freeway and were able to walk to sate capital 1.5 miles away.

We had to go to Sacramento for a medical emergency for my son. All of the staff was great, everyone was so helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean. It was a little dated, but that's ok. There was a frig in the room, so that helped. It is close to the freeway.

Great first visit, it was a treat to stay non chain hotel for a nice change. The hotel is very nice, clean, friendly staff, very happy people to help you with your needs. The room was spacious, very clean, beds were fantastic, it was quite and extremely comfortable. I would recommend to everyone plus it has a free shuttle to and from the airport something you find very often with an excellent price!!

Everything ran smoothly. Polite service, clean room, felt safe and walking distance to fast food if needed. Also short Uber ride to downtown. Very happy with our stay, highly recommend.

Very nice clean hotel. Great location close to downtown. Some noise ftom street

Everything OK just I saw the blankets worn out that should be a plus if hotel use new ones. The color walls in the room are OK. Even though the bath fun ventilation is not working I can say it still OK.

It is not trying to be a 5 star hotel, but it succeeds in being a good alternative to one. Much less expensive than hotels 1.5 miles away, partly because it is not the most welcoming of neighborhoods. Having said that, the location of the hotel still feels safer than some of the areas in downtown Sacramento. Despite being near the freeway, the rooms are very quiet.
The drive from the hotel to downtown is less than 5 minutes on surface streets. I have stayed here several times, and the staff has always been very welcoming. The birds in the lobby are a nice touch.

Staff at breakfast gave me attitude when I asked to get more orange juice. Housekeeping staff walked in on me at 9 am without knocking.

The kind of food for breakfast is too short.

We reserved this location for park and fly. Our flight from Sacto left at 7:30 am and we were told to be at the airport at 5:30 am. The shuttle did not operate until 6:30 am. We therefore spent $40 for a taxi to the airport . We had not been made aware of this prior to making our reservation.

Clean, looks like it was recently remodeled, nice room and comfortable bed. I would rate it 5 stars in comfort if it wasn't for the McDonalds drive through right outside our room. DON'T STAY IN THE ROOMS FACING MCDONALDS! We heard the LOUD speaker that they use to talk to the cars ALL NIGHT.

I am a wheelchair user who booked an accessible room. I am only going to highlight the truly terrible things about this hotel. For starters, they gave me keys to someone else’s room. The room was 150 pushes of my wheelchair each way. The door jams on both my room door and the door to the breakfast area were so high that i struggled to get over them. The cleaning staff constantly blocked the hallways and the elevator with their carts. None of the food was easily reachable from my chair and I had to go get staff who were playing with their cell phone to help. No eggs or meat by the way, all carbs. The parking lot was constantly sloped downhill to a drainage area, which was dangerous to me leaving the building. The neighborhood was disgusting. So many homeless people on the sidewalks that it would give SF a run for its money. I went to this hotel because it was rated 8 stars but that was a joke. I would give it 6.5 at best for a non-disabled person and 3 for a disabled person staying by themselves.

Nothing special. Photo ID required at your stay.

In town to see a show at the Crest Theater. The accommodations at the Governors Inn were excellent. And the proximity to the venue was excellent. Being next to the police station also provided a greater sense of security for me and my vehicle parked on the premises.

My room was right next to the Mcdonalds drive through lane. Check which room you are getting!
Kinda sketchy area, but the room was fine for a 1 night stay. Shower nozzle could use an upgrade.

Check in wasn't great as the person working front desk wasn't friendly and didn't greet or speak. I had to say hi first. Even then it was rather dry hello. However the guy who check us out was friendly and professional. The attendant watching the breakfast diner area just look at us when we enter but when other guests walked in she greeted them with a smile and hello. We are African American and I don't know if that was the reason but I can't help but wonder if these employees were bias or prejudice. The area was sketchy and I wouldn't go out when it's dark. Even in the day was a lil scary

Overall, the inn was clean and looked nice in the public areas. Our room had only a shower stall and the mattress was particularly firm. The breakfast was minimal. The parking was free and the parking area well lit which helped, but the general area seemed unsafe.

The hot tub was wonderful during a massive storm.
