Perfect location for Central Dublin. Modernised and a lot of the old Gresham charm gone. Clean, quiet room with plenty of space. Staff friendly and helpful. Good breakfast with lots of choice. Expensive but so is Dublin. Would stary again.

Helpful and friendly staff, but the property itself is lacking. Very small rooms with small beds and only 1 pillow per person provided, was rather stingy for the price.

I booked this hotel for its location since it’s the tour bus pickup location. I’m glad I did. Not only the tour bus but the airport coach drop off at the hotel as well. Besides a couple of nice bars and restaurants are within a couple of minutes walk. The hotel is newly renovated, the staff are friendly. Although it looks new and clean, due to its old construction, the guess room can be tricky to find and needs walk extra stairs if you happen to have a room located near the corner. Besides the bathroom exhaust fan switch is above the bathroom door, so you need to climb up one chair to be able to reach it. Minor issues but needs attentions to make the hotel perfect.

Nice, clean hotel with a comfortable lobby. Hallways and rooms had a strange plastc flooring instead of tile/carpet which looked cheap and transmitted noise. Breakfast was good but a feeding frenzy until the tour groups finished and left.

Such a great experience. I stayed here on my first trip to Dublin in 2006 and remembered the Gresham as being genteel and grand and fabulous. It didn’t disappoint the second time. The condition of the room & common areas was fabulous & the staff is out of this world.

We celebrated my husbands birthday with a trip to Dublin and a stay at The Gresham Hotel. When I mentioned that we were celebrating my husbands birthday, we were upgraded to a suite, it was lovely, spacious and very well appointed. Breakfast was included in our booking and it was delicious, with a good selection of food hot or cold. All staff were very helpful.

The rooms are modern, but not cozy. Linoleum floors does not scream 4* and while the bathroom was fantastic, the bedroom was less than fantastic. Nice location. Cold interior. Staff were lovely.

The ambience on entry was very good, with reception staff efficient. The King size room on the fourth floor was tired eg, dirty marks on the wall which I washed off myself with soap and some tissues. No cold water in the morning at wash hand basin for brushing teeth, hand washing or refilling water container etc. This also left the shower very poor. The wall mounted shower gel container was empty so used the shampoo instead. My wife always wanted the experience of staying at the Gresham but we were both very disappointed with the overall standard.

Centrally placed for exploring Dublin. Friendly and helpful staff and good breakfasts. We really enjoyed our stay. The bed were very comfortable and the decor and facilities were very good so would certainly stay again.

I am unable to comment on Riu hotel There had been an incident with a burst pipe which was outwith anyones control disappointing as it was a special break 30th anniversary….so we were moved to a different hotel for both nights, this was arranged by Riu hotel which was great to get a room but it took over 1 1/2 hrs to get sorted in academy plaza we had booked a superior king & a deluxe king, we ended up in a small double room & it was small & the hotel was noisy with guests waking us up at 2am 2.15am 2.30am & 3am banging doors also couldn’t open window as the fan extractor was outside humming all night 🤐 I will be seeking some refund

Nice property. Good is very good. Service at Toddy’s restaurant was just ok. No water for a shower one day. Buses for excursions pick up near by but most things to see are on the south side of the river so can be a lot of walking to and from.

The air conditioner did not work resulting in a very warm room, making our 1 night stay uncomfortable. This was not noticed till bed time with kids. The room we had in the 21XX block, was what appeared to be the basement or ground level part of the parking garage, certainly felt like a 2nd class portion of the hotel. Not sure I would stay again.

All went well until I have checked out and at that point of time, I just remembered there were 2 unopened bottles of water and apple juice left inside the small fridge of the room. I told the receptionist about this. She gave me the room key again. To my disappointment, the key was computerised with a wrong room number and so I couldn’t open the room. Because a booked taxi had already arrived, so I told the staff I would get back the stuff after I returned. The staff made a note and promised that the styff wiukd be handed over to me then. However, thing didnt turn out to be smooth. In he afternoon, upon my return to hotel, i explained the situation and expected I could get back my stuff. However, the staff appeared quite perplexed and asked me to show my passport to prove my identity. And then a manager came forward and talked to me in an unfriendly manner. She asked me to wait while her staff would check for me. Few minutes later, she said in a very affirmative attitude that there were not any stuff seen in the fridge. Her attitude was very unfriendly. I said it was alright then. The stuff were not expensive items but they were my daughter's favorite items. The way how the hotel staff handled the missing stuff is extremely worrying. What if the items are valuable ones? It seems to me this is the usual way they handle similar incidents. If they just keep saying they couldnt find anything, then they don’t have to bear any responsibilities. It is very disappointing indeed.

Had a great stay and very helpful staff in every way. Although not being able to get two duvets / covers for single bed but instead have to sleep with two giant ones for a king bed was too great. As a Swede you are used to having your own duvet/ cover

Nice hotel, great breakfast. The rooms were clean and spacious and were nice to be in (ambience and decor). We were in a room in a new annexe to the hotel, which seemed to be another property at the back of the original hotel. It was a bit of a trek to get to the room (up one lift a long corridor walk, then down another lift to then look for our room). As a result our room was close to a back alley, which was noisey with delivery trucks and drunk arguing on thier way home, which hsppened every night. I think if we had if been in a different room away from this, our scores for this hotel would be nearly perfect.
