My overall stay was good. However, the room needed some small repairs and time dedicated to cleaning. Unfortunately, my room did not get vacuumed. There were toe nail clippings left on the floor. The cabinet the houses the refrigerator, the wood on the bottom is damaged. It does not look good. Turn off from using the refrigerator. Bathroom door didn’t stay open, I had to use towels as a door stop. The bathroom fan, extremely loud. Shower door hinges need adjustments. Opening and closing of the shower door, sounded as if it was going to fall off. The toilet is a child’s toilet. Low to the ground. My husband is 6’3’ and I’m only 5’2’, it was not comfortable to use.

All in all, everything was great! Despite having a flight take off plan directly over our room, it was barely noticeable. Our room was lacking amenities such as bath towels, body lotion, shampoo and conditioner, shower wash and plastic cups. I brought this up to check in staff who promptly supplied us with all that was needed

Unfortunately the previous reviews swayed me to stay here as we only had 1 short night in a hotel near the Detroit airport. It turns out, we should have slept in the airport instead! The La Quinta front desk staff was friendly and welcoming and the lobby was clean and bright. The positives end there. Our room smelled immediately like mold when we walked in. The carpet felt wet it was so humid. The bathroom fan was not functional which lead to wet walls and peeling paint. The bed is in desperate need of replacement as the queen beds sunk so deep in the middle. I would hope there is another alternative closer to the airport where you will get better sleep!

Check in was friendly as well as check out. We dropped our bags in the room and left immediately and returned at 11:00 pm. Our tv remote did not work but to turn on the tv. The room had many spiders and small like fruit flies. Black out curtains were stained with holes. Told employee at checkout and she said she would make a note of it.

My room had a crack running down the width of the ceiling and the plaster was peeling off. Toilet seat needed to be replaced. Literally called the hotel 11 times in a row to get someone to send the shuttle to the airport, but no one answered the phone. Another shuttle gave us a ride to the hotel. Front desk clerk said she was busy and they had no help when I called, but when I arrived she had no one around rhat she was helping. Could of least answered the phone and said, I will be with you shortly."

Slept great here, very comfortable beds. Continental breakfast was a little disorganized and there was missing food and not enough food for everyone who was there (get there earlier in case they run out). Staff was helpful during checkin.

Wasn’t sure why they added $ 50 to my bill when I checked in but they said it would be credited if I didn’t spend anything else ?????? Thus far it hasn’t been credited but I’ll be staying there again Tuesday, Sept 10th before I fly out the next morning! I’ll make sure all is right then if needed!

Dirty towel & wash cloth from previous guest left in room. The bed closest to the door was terrible there were 2 extremely large dips in the mattress. The air conditioner had something wrong with it and made an awful sound all night.

Didn't get a room upgrade, did receive a 1hr extension on checkout which was needed and appreciated. Room 124 bathroom needs attention. Shower water handle doesn't work, shower door leaks, and exhaust fan is WILDLY loud.

Never stay at this hotel. Our room smelled awful. AC was very noisy. Bed mattress was not comfortable. Airport shuttle was very infrequent and drivers were not very helpful. Washing machine and dryer were supposed to be operated via mobile app, which never worked. The only strength machine in the gym was out of order. There are reasons to be cheap.

We dropped off our luggage at the hotel and then needed to return our rental car. The rental car shuttle was going to take us to the airport and then we were going to call the hotel shuttle to come and pick us up. We called La Quinta 13 times and no one ever picked up the phone. Finally, the shuttle came because someone else from a different hotel chain had requested a pick-up.

The property was a bit older but it was spotless and the bed was really comfortable, great linens and cooling system worked perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised and will make this hotel my first choice for DTW stays. Shuttle was great too.
