The Goodwin was a really nice stay. Very clean, cute steampunk design, with a cute lounge below for nightcaps. Also across the street from a really nice restaurant. Loved everything about this hotel.
2.5
Our stay was great. I have no complaints about anything. Highly recommend.

Absolutely loved the decor of this hotel. The aesthetic throughout the property was just very pleasing with a very sophisticated elegance. Highly recommend GH due to its style and prime location in downtown Hartford

Rooms at this hotel are amazing and large. Bed was very comfortable, and location is convenient (especially if you need to be near Trinity College).
My only disappointment was with housekeeping. They didn’t proactively service my room over the week that I was there. And on the day I finally requested it they just put towels in and took the trash (didn’t make the bed or clean floors).
Overall I would recommend. Just make sure to request when you want housekeeping.

Loved the rooms and the staff was so friendly!
1.5
The hotel and staff at the hotel were very nice. But, I will remember how warm the room was. Even after asking the staff to take a look and get the room cooler, nothing was fixed. Everything else about the stay was top notch. Sadly, when you're looking forward to a cool room when you return from a hot day, it was a dissapointment.

The Goodwin is always my go to for Hartford events.

Loved the large bathroom but shower temp hard to control and low pressure. This location on a weekend is dead! Nothing open . Great bed and linens. Housekeeping staff top notch. Coffee available in the lobby in the AM which is nice. Tea in room although you pay $3.00 for water which seems silly when paying $300 /night.

Very engaged staff. Kind and helpful.

The beds could have been better but the place was beautiful

The room which we paid more than $300 for didn’t even have a closet to hang your clothes! It has a small kitchenette but all the closets were empty of any dishes or silver ware. Staff seemed to always disappear when help was needed with our luggage. Overall a big disappointment

Stayed for just a night. Great stay. Gem in the middle of Hartford.

Really nice rooms in a classic style.
Friendly staff.
Excellent workout room

Great location and the room was incredibly clean and comfortable! We loved the valet attendants, they could not have been nicer and more helpful!

It needs minor maintenance touch ups around the elevator frames from where trolleys were knocked into it. Otherwise, the interior decor is gorgeous. Beautifully done.

Dirty rooms, Peeling paint, holes in wall. I found dirty panties and a hairbrush in closet shelf and tuck in couch.

The hotel is super cute. Boutique style. Lovely mix of the old and new with fun decor. The two queen room was spacious. Two complaints: first, the beds were older, cheaply made with no support, and hard; second there was almost no water pressure in the shower. We’d definitely stay here again because the location to downtown and the xfinity theatre are excellent.

Nice independent boutique hotel, with lovely staff. Rooms are big and clean. Parking is $40 for valet which I think is too much

I liked that the room was decently clean and modern. When I checked in the valet just gestured me to come inside from his podium vs coming out and helping me which was off putting. He was very short and cold. Both front desk girl didn't smile and was not welcoming at all. Very cold. It was weird. The bell ended up coming and helping me with my bags which I brought in myself. The bell was very nice and courteous. He's the only one that smiled and was welcoming. I think his name is Justin. The day time and night valet are super nice its the guy in the morning that was not helpful at all.

Great property lovely spacious rooms and beautiful settings the only negative point is food breakfasts options are not great and also not the greatest restaurants in the area. Definitely recommend heading to west Hartford for dinner
3.0
This is a nice hotel and it was a great, but short, stay. The reason for the low overall score is that for the price, the amenities in the room were not great. Firs, the lighting in the room was hard to regulate - it was either harsh white light or it was too dark. Sconces with defused light would been nice. Second - no coffee machine in the room and water bottles were $3. For nearly $300/night, this should be provided to clients as a part of the service.

Great place to stay

The entire sixth floor was warm and my room never cooled down. I also couldn’t get the TV to work. I told the front desk about the air conditioning early in the evening and nothing was done. I told them about the TV in the morning and they said they would look at the bill, but I never received adjusted reduced charge. I used to stay here all the time, but will now start looking for alternatives

It’s a nice place, downtown for not a lot of money.

The staff were incredibly friendly. The room was well decorated, clean, quiet, and had great A/C- It was super hot and humid outside so that was a big relief :) Also, the staff were so friendly.

Frlnt desk staff knew very little about activities in the area on July 4th!!!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Goodwin. The staff was wonderful—helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and the beds comfy. The location is not ideal. The area is not that walkable, and there were no restaurants within easy walking distance. They being said, I’d stay again if I were visiting this area.
2.5
Great place to stay in Hartford, walkable to the Wadsworth Atheneum, Hartford Stage & many nice restaurants. From the hotel, there’s an easy bus ride to visit the Mark Twain House and the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center.
4.0
Clean, staff very nice, one elevator took forever to come, because they were busy.

My son and his wife were married at the Hartford City Hall over Easter weekend on March 30th of this year. Most of our friends and family stayed at The Goodwin. From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out the experience was wonderful. All of the staff went above and beyond to be sure that we were happy and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone while visiting Hartford.
2.5
Beautiful and spacious room! The bathroom was enormous and well-maintained. The bedroom had a couch and seating area. A hidden treasure of a hotel in Hartford! Central location as well.
4.0
PRO - friendly staff, questions were answered with ease, smooth (early) check-in, easy checkout, lots of eateries within a 5-10min walk from hotel
CON - shower wall did not extend far enough so shower water resulted in slippery floors and a soaked bath mat.
5.0
Great place for a trip to Connecticut.
