106 is a terrible room. The hotel didn't seem to be full; there were parking spaces available and not a lot of lights on in the rooms. But somehow we got put in the last room down a long dark alley, opening up onto the parking lot and dumpsters - and our luck? The trash truck arrived at 7am. We had to sign a long list of weirdly specific but common sense rules just to get our keys - and one of them was quiet hours from 9pm to 9am. Yet our location meant that anyone who was staying in the hotel (which included a couple families with children) tumbled down our alley, shouting in front of our room and banging the alley door to their car from about 7am until we gave up and left at 9. The mattress was old and saggy, but aside from the elevated price, noise and alley factor, the motel was fine. Not a - haven - by any stretch, but otherwise fine. A wretched experience. We stay overnight on weekdays quite frequently in SD, and we usually choose the nearby small network of motels owned by PB Surf, which are cheaper and similar in quality. We thought we'd try somewhere new - what a mistake.

Older well maintained hotel 1/2 block to the beach. The staff we encountered were both friendly and professional. I would highly recommend this hotel and will stay again.

We loved it here. Extremely close to the beach and affordable. You dont get the beach view, but the room was spacious, Well equipped, and very accommodating. Definitely staying here again.

Absolutely the perfect location. It’s been several years since we have visited Pacific/Mission beach and Beach Haven Inn. The city must be doing something about the mentally ill & homeless people hanging around the beach and boardwalk it was much better than pre-covid.

The property location was great. There is several shopping and restaurant locations to chose from that are walkable from this location. The beach is also just a block away! Best part about this place for sure! The pool/spa was kept clean and great for the kids. The rooms were decent, nothing fancy, pillows and beds aren't the best but overall it wasn’t a bad stay. The issues I had with this location is that I opted in for the Expedia reserve now pay later. On the email it stated we would pay upon arrival and I had expected to pay than but the hotel decided to charge before arrival and the front desk receptionist was very rude when I asked about it. Just know that if you are opting in for reserve now, pay later the hotel will charge you before your arrival. The customer service was not there from the employee we dealt with but the manager that came in the following day was nice and helpful.

Location, location, location! It was no nice to be able to walk to everything in Pacific Beach. Finding parking at the beach is awful so it was so valuable to be able to talk to restaurants, shops and the beach.

Great location and service, however, carpets in hotel rooms by the beach doesn't give confidence of cleanliness. Also, it was easy to hear neighbors through connecting door.

The pictures are definitely not the same as your in-person experience. It’s a renovation done poorly - carpet was pretty gross, dust lined the tops of the headboards of the beds, corners had cobwebs and dirt and dust collecting, and the water pressure in the shower was extremely low. And the ironic part is that there was an envelope asking us to tip our cleaning people. If they are relying on tips, you’re not paying them enough. Overall it was just a bit odd. The pool area was nice though and the staff at the front desk were extremely nice.

Roxie at the front desk was polite and helpful. The room and property were both clean and quiet. It was nice to have a small kitchen. AC worked great. I also liked that I could see my parked vehicle from window in room. Would definitely stay again.

Property is how we expected and what we were looking for. Could use some updates, has some quick fixes. But everything worked and had clean beds, linens, bathrooms, property, pool. Gated was a plus. Parking was easier during the week than during weekend. On the edge of the area so walkable to everything you're looking for, but far enough away to be quieter.

I only stayed here b/c my son went to surf camp, and it's super convenient to get to the beach. The room we booked had a kitchen area with a fridge, microwave and a stove, which is pretty handy if you're traveling with kids and staying for a few days. There was a pull out couch and a bed in a separate room, which I appreciated. However, as soon as we pulled out the couch, you can tell the bedding hadn't been changed. Otherwise, the bathroom was clean. Overall, the property is super convenient if you want to be close to the beach. In terms of amenities, service, and ambiance, it was ok. There is a pool and spa outdoors, but we didn't use them, so can't speak to the cleanliness.

Great location about 1/2 block from the boardwalk and beach. Close to the stairs to go down to the beach as well. Clean property close to restaurants, bars, coffee shops, everything you could need or want. I will stay gain.

Beach Haven is the perfect convenient location if you’re looking for a quaint spot next to the beach. Parking was pretty easy and available, included in the hotel price. You can hear every sound and conversation going on in the halls and pool area when you’re in the room, or maybe it was just room 107 since the door had a gap at the bottom. I’d stay again if I was looking for a bargain deal close to the ocean.

The location is good, very close to the beach, and the service was great. The downsides, there was hair in the shower, the carpet was old and worn, and the general condition of the building was poor. Our tv didn't work, and the door jam was broken preventing the door from latching, but maintenance was quick to fix the door. Our walls were paper thin, and the door that split the kitchen between the rooms haf a huge gap alloeing light and sounds betwwen the rooms.

You are a few blocks from a bunch of restaurants and breakfast spots & Supermarket within walking distance. Staff was very professional courteous and attentive. The room was super clean and comfortable. The pool and hot tub were heated and accessible and very clean. You will not be disappointed in your stay on the convenience of things around you and Pacific Beach is a 3 minute walk from the Room. ENJOY...

Arrived at 8 o'clock only to receive a sign stating that they're on their lunch break to 830 so we have to wait. We had a long day of travel and this was very inconvenience and there wasn't a consideration for back up. This must be improved.
