As always: Intercity Hotel has a perfect location, in the city and at the station! In Magdeburg: nice,,renovated larger then Motel One rooms, comfortable bed, very quiet inside! Staff very helpful and friendly welcome!! I also got a very good price!!

As with all Inter City hotels I book for the convenience of proximity to the hautbahnhof, and this didnt disappoint, turn left, two minutes! Check i was quick, room fine, shower excellent.

Intercity hotels routinely are convenient -- next door to -- to the train station (Hauptbahnhof). I stayed in one in rostock 2 years ago. Both were solid performance for price charged.

Durchweg freundliches Personal, schönes Zimmer mit bequemem Bett, gute Lage, trotzdem ruhig, TV mit vielen Programmen, Telefon mit Weckanruf, gratis Fahrkarte für ÖPNV ganz unkompliziert erhalten. Das Haus wirkt gut geführt, auch im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels der Kette.Leider sieht man dem Bad das Alter an (Rost und Kalk), alles noch im Rahmen, aber eine Modernisierung wäre wünschenswert.

The hotel is not air conditioned, I did request a quiet room away from street, but got one facing the street. Thus very hard to sleep with window closed as too hot, and if you open window then you put up with drunks shouting until 2am. The shower is antiquated and too small, and flooded the bath room floor. One lift was broken which is not good as at present it's only two people per lift. Breakfast was included and I chose the 0815 slot as that was quietest. I was told to sit at the table closest to the self service area, while I would have much rather have been at the table furthest away to minimise contact. The other two groups dining were seated at the closest tables to me, I am lost for words. During breakfast somebody from front desk and one of breakfast staff gave a guided tour to two people to show what modifications there were. While they had masks on, they were all stood together and not 1.5 meters away from each other. Am lost for words. One positive, room had a fridge which didn't make a noise, so I was able to have a cold drink in morning.

Asked for a plug for the bathroom washbasin (to prevent my contact lenses going down the drain) and was not helped. Room okay, but could have done with a comfy chair. Had a noisy neighbour - radio on from 4am - manager did not do anything. The bathroom could do with more tiles anti slip outside the shower area.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was very conveniently located to the train station and public transportation. The staff was friendly and helpful and helped keep the secret about why we were there from my wife (David Garrett concert) We recommend this hotel and would return when in town again.

I had a room next to the railway. Room was noisy - trains going by and station announcements during the night .... 02:38 to Wolmirstedt etc. room carpets were a bit 'tired'. Breakfast very good. Hotel bar was shut for the whole stay.

With the outside temperature about 30C, I was looking forward to cooling down a little. However, my room was like an oven as, in spite of this being a modern hotel, there was no air conditioning (or in any other room according to other guests). There was a grille above the wardrobe, but no air apparently coming into or out of it. Opening the window wide improved things slightly, but the hotel is next to the main railway station, and the trains go on all night, crashing round bends in the track and squealing their brakes. So you have the choice of suffocating with the windows closed, or being wakened by railway noises every half hour with the windows open. Neither way was it possible to get much sleep. Warm weather can't be all that uncommon in Germany!

Location at HBF is good (although somewhat noisy). Good standard cheap ish hotel. Only complaint is a 14 EUR charge for Internet when booking said free - 1st 30 mins is free only. Otherwise fine.
